It's debatable whether or not it should be in the best selling games since they list ALL Tetris games as 1 game, when there are tons of different versions of Tetris. That's like if they listed all Mario games as the same game

No. There are plenty of really weird tetris games that do have the base game, but also new mechanics and game modes that can really change it up. For instance the original Tetris didn't have a save block feature. Vs. Minecraft where Bedrock, Java, and Legacy were all virtually the same game
That movie is incredibly inaccurate. I would recommend the youtube documentary by Gaming Historian that probably inspired the movie in the first place.

The main point of "the rights for Tetris were confusing as hell, the Soviets were intimidating, and Mirrorsoft was trying to con everyone out of a deal" was kept in tact. The movie even included Atari v Nintendo and the translator (though did more with the translator than they should have for story over accuracy)

Hence why if you’re making your own new Tetris-esque game, you need to use new block types, and not the traditional ones. So while the game concept may not have been originally copyrighted, the things that make Tetris what it is are entirely copyrighted.
I'm dissapointed that they didn't add many tetris esc. mechanics, like ones that acted like the original game. It would be really cool if they did 3d tetris for a boss where you had to dodge the pieces and push the boss so it would mess up and place a piece in the wrong place eventually getting game over.

Minecraft has always been a sandbox and has always had people making games within it. Look at Sethbling's channel, or think back to 2014 and FCDisco. These add-ons provide that market between builders and players so that players can build their own minecraft how ever they want it to play. It's possibly a very effective meta-verse style community/video game which could generate a lot of money and yet also be well recieved by the community. A forge mode from Halo but with the sandbox potential. But this also has the very serious danger of becoming Roblox, with black market issues, scams, and child labor (People Make Games did a couple exposés on Roblox here on RUclips).
Before we start spending diamonds you can go for a more tedious route and make 4 mino shards into minos and 9 minos into 1 matrix shard and 9 of those into one matrix chunk

I like the idea hopefully we’ll get more addons like this more like crazy and just has so much stuff going on but I just don’t see myself buying it
