I love how on a main channel upload he talks about lithium batteries rupturing for 9 minutes. I get how it's... vaguely related, but this is like an LNoD upload.
Okay , hello all, electrical/mechanical engineer here. So let me save you all the BS . here is what happened . first NO your phone, your radio your pager is not going to explode like these did, so set that out of you head. What Israel intelligence did was figure out who and where these devices were being imported in and who was distributing them to Hamas members. They bought a bunch of these units and remade some components within them out of plastic explosive, or A/B explosive You can actually 3d print plastic explosives to shape and fit internal components. THEN they did one of two things, a) setup an low power separate receiver, A single chip board that was encoded onto the cell network (think size of your pinky fingernail) or B) they could have developed their own replacement PCB for the units, They could have gone to the actual manufactures and said " we need this" with an extra channel to work on the network and replaced the boards with their own. . Either would work fine, undetectable and would still operate even if the power was turned off. attach a tiny piece of det cord or other initiator and .. BOOM
I'm in the military, i fly all the time-- i have NEVER been told to call a flight attendant to pick up a phone if its dropped. I've literally never heard that in my life lol
Generally speaking lithium ion batteries don’t break down explosively per se, the risk is they burn incredibly hot, so lighting stuff on fire or melting through stuff. Like they might explode out a little bit, but it would be very rare for someone to die purely from the initial explosion of the battery, even for big ones like cars. But they are super hot burning and super difficult to put out, so having them in areas where you can just let it burn itself out is dangerous, like planes. If a lithium ion battery ignites itself in the cargo hold of a plane, it could catch other stuff on fire, and maybe even melt through the actual bottom of the plane if it was a large enough battery. Fires in the cabin are also bad, but at least you can probably tell it’s happening and probably prevent the fire from spreading elsewhere, I think the major risk for ones in the cargo hold is they cause major damage and nobody even knows it happened. But generally speaking even if your correctly made phone instantly exploded its lithium ion battery right in your hand in front of your face, you wouldn’t die. You might get some nasty burns, and perhaps the shrapnel from the screen would cut you a bit and you might go blind, but you’d drop the phone and it would burn and you’d be mostly ok. The way they break is just primarily releasing heat, not explosively. Even Tesla cars that catch on fire generally don’t kill anyone with the initial explosion, if someone does die, which is fairly rare even when they catch on fire, it’s either primarily as a result of the accident that caused the fire and the fire prevent first responders from helping them, or they couldn’t get out of the car so they died of burns (which that’s incredibly rare I think unless they got knocked unconscious). The big issue is the fires are incredibly hot and even fire departments don’t generally have a way to deal with them (sometimes specialized units do I think but your standard fire truck doesn’t) so your only option is kind of just to let it burn itself out, because these are the kind of fires that’ll burn underwater and stuff like that. All that is to say, exploding these in a way that kills people pretty reliably and wounds people in the area isn’t just an ordinary lithium ion battery that was forced to overheat, it was probably some separate compound that mixed with the lithium ion to make a more explosive and less heat based reaction. Because even if you could hack into it and force the battery to breakdown, without something else it wouldn’t reliably kill people, probably just give them fairly bad burns on their hands at worst, unless there’s something unusually explosive about the type of battery used in those devices when compared to normal lithium ion devices. It’s possible the tactic used was purely software/firmware and essentially the pager just received a signal that meant overheat the battery and that was all it took, but my bet would be on either some sort of actual explosive in the device or a compound that was released that mixed with the battery to create an explosive compound and it wasn’t merely the battery alone
I've been scrolling X looking at posts about the pagers. For your sanity's sake, don't do what I did. The amount of misinformation, fakes and trolls on that platform is unlike anything else
I work in a hospital, and we still use pagers. They can still be purchased new from medical companies. The ones we use are capable of getting text messages from the software the supervisors use. These pagers use a single AA battery. And I think that means it would be pretty easy to have a 3rd party after the fact swap to another power source.
@@t0ad Maybe it's Airline specific? I don't remember hearing it on American but I can recite that United short film from memory and I'm almost certain they don't do it there
In reference to the batteries on planes. They allow them as carry on, and they must be in a bag/safe storage. They do not allow you to put them in checked bags unless they are locked away in a hard case.
thermal runaway at its finest. My husband used to work for a company that makes batteries with a patented cooling system for this exact thing. It's essentially the same reason why when tesla cars catch on fire its a huge pain to try and get them out.

Saw a video a few weeks ago of someone’s dog chewing into the battery of a (I’m assuming) dog toy. The thing burst into flames and the entire house was just about burnt to the ground while the owners weren’t home. Wild shit.
Vegeta jumpscare is 10/10 I was so jazzed about that I forgot to listen to the rest of the video. What did this nice young man say about Lebanon Bologna?
Hezbollah stopped using phones because of their fear of Israeli interceptions. So Israel used their supply chains to blow up their pagers and radios lmfao.
Look up lithium-ion thermal runaway, which might be listed as "explosions or catches fire" for people not knowing what thermal runaway is. It can be really bad from large 0 (round cell batteries) 18650 size and larger, or multi cell lithium packs that you see in RC cars and drones etc store a tremendous amount of energy. It basically creates a metal (elemental)/ chemical fire. And you will need a Class D fire extinguisher to put it out, they are super expensive.
Hw and sw electronics engineer here, yeah that was no simple hack. They were def explosives inside some mock up battery or something similar. No chance that this was standard li ion batteries "hacked". Quite an insane suggestion from any engineer or anyone with a technical background. 'looking over at Ryan'🙄 Edit: Li ion batteries virtually always have seperate hardward safeguard ics for over charge, current amd temperature that are really not accessible with software. Maybe there is a way to fry them with transients or hf pulses or something crazy in a lab.. even then it would smoke, pop and burn at best. Im sure they replaced/injected the batteries before delivery with explosives and probably added a small trigger circuit so a specific page set it off.
I've noticed Tim Pool has over a million subscribers, but the likes that he receives (very little) is not proportional to having that many subscribers at all.
Hmm, that's not true from what i seen. I looked at Destiny's, Fox News, msnbc, and tim Pools videos. I looked at their subscribers and the view count from what I saw. Msnbc has 7.34 million subscribers. From what I seen some of there 300k views has between 10k to 30k likes. Fox news ranges 11.9 subscribers, 300k to 700k views from 15k to 20k Likes. Tim pools ranges 1.9 mill subscribers average between 300k to 400k(if you watch the livestreams) from 15k to 30k. Destiny ranges form 800k subscribers from his view count from what I see is between 100k to 400k. Around 5k to 10k likes. All depends on the videos you watch. So this point is just dumb in my opinion can say the same for destiny or even msnbc because there subscribers are not the right ratio to there view count.
@@GamingTrucker81 well perhaps your right, and I shouldn’t be so openly optimistic, especially if it’s misleading. I’ve been comparing to Adam Mockler, who has much fewer than a million subs, but each video receives a lot more likes than Tim.

it's all a matter of how fast the energy gets released. the videos you saw were all pushing the energy out through one whole and took a few seconds to fully get it out there. if you can manipulate it in a way to release that energy quicker, you got a stronger explosion. also, the reason why old stuff is hard to hack is not "because they are tried and tested". it's mostly because actual old pagers are not online. they use phone signal. you can't really remote hack something that doesn't have internet access. or at least you can't do it the usual ways.

BOOM
You know this reminds me of the part in the wire when the cops sold the Barksdale gang tainted burner phones.

Our minister of defense, Gallant, promised to take Lebanon back to the stone age if they don't stop so here we go
Hw and sw electronics engineer here, yeah that was no simple hack. They were def explosives inside some mock up battery or something similar. No chance that this was standard li ion batteries "hacked". Quite an insane suggestion from any engineer or anyone with a technical background. 'looking over at Ryan'🙄
Edit: Li ion batteries virtually always have seperate hardward safeguard ics for over charge, current amd temperature that are really not accessible with software.
@@exactspace yeah could just be the demographics of his audience. Being overly optimistic on things doesn't at times show the true picture. I don't want to truly get into the entirety of the numbers of these channels because be a lot of work to do. it's all a matter of how fast the energy gets released. the videos you saw were all pushing the energy out through one whole and took a few seconds to fully get it out there. if you can manipulate it in a way to release that energy quicker, you got a stronger explosion.
also, the reason why old stuff is hard to hack is not "because they are tried and tested". it's mostly because actual old pagers are not online. they use phone signal. you can't really remote hack something that doesn't have internet access. or at least you can't do it the usual ways.
