my dad had one of these ltz and there is no problems with the interior its perfect. we have the 5.3L and it does have LOTS of power for who say it doesn't have any power we were hauling 12,500 LBS. NO problem going 90 on the interstate and the engine was working at 3000 rpm.
For those of you "nay saying" this vehicle, I'm pretty sure you just don't get it. Several people in my family own Suburbans, and it's because it does what you ask of it. It can sit 8, take all the luggage you want, and tow a trailer. And, I realise that people w/2 kids don't really need one, but not everyone that owns a Suburban is a small family. Most people in our family have at least 4 kids and a trailer. Nothing else comes close to comfort, capability, reliability, and value for money.
A legendary vehicle that constantly raises the bar for SUV's and Crossover's year after year, with a few small nooks and crannies, and of course mpg, a very nice vehicle. MADE IN THE USA
Don't forget about the Expedition EL. Most people like it more than the Suburban, but for some reason doesn't sell as well (kind of like good music these days).
It's actually a pretty positive review and it mirrors what most other reviewers say (even more generous than some), so I don't know where you get such a crazy idea from.
Haha I like how people are bashing this car. The big GM trucks/suvs are EXTREMELY overdue for a MAJOR facelift / redesign but people, at least where I live, buy these things like hot cakes. You can't leave the house without seeing about 20 of car things on the road.
Love Suburb Vans. Best vehicles ever if you have to carry a lot of people or tow a big boat or trailer and if you take out the second and third row seats you can move out an entire house. They really can't be compared to a top tier SUV like a Range Rover or Mercedes GL, totally different animal. You never want to buy a new one though, you want an old one that you can beat the crap out of and do whatever with and not have to worry about it.
Wish full size vans received as much love from people as they used to. All of the hooker valor ones are gone, and even with a quigley/ujoint 4x4 conversion (or Chevy AWD 1500) you can still usually end up ahead on space, tech, and luxury. The high tops have enough head room for the world's tallest man, and he can also watch a wide screen while getting a heated message.
Because this is America and unlike Europe, for some reason, we only put diesel engines in super heavy duty vehicles. We don't use them for normal vehicles to get efficiency. There used to be a diesel engine available on the Suburban 2500, same as the GM 2500 trucks, but it was dropped two generations ago I believe.
Mercedes G550, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, LR4, BMW X5 M, ML63 + GL63 AMG. These are all european SUVs that get 12 mpg. The vehicle you see here though is rated at 15/21 city/ highway, which is a 1 mpg improvement over Germany's highly engineered, and much smaller, BMW M3 with it's much smaller V8. And the Suburban doesn't use premuim grade gas like all the other european car listed here sold in the US.
its not a car its a truck/suv best truck used for plowing and pulling all the heavy equipment its just a silverado with a topper is what a suburban is. they are trucks
My suburban has 74,000 miles on it. I am the original owner and have maintained it perfectly. Recently I've discovered coolant disappearing. Turns out to be a manufacturing defect. GMC refuses to stand by its product. I will never buy another and I strongly recommend that you do not either.
Yeah but you cant tow as much or haul 7 to 8 people in complete comfort i think you're missing the point of these full size SUVs , so in this class GM is king plus i would think owning and maintaining an X5M would be allot more expensive.
62.000 expensive? haha thats like 47.000 euro.. here in the netherlands you can buy a BMW 318 for it with some options on it and it is half the size of that Suburban! If you want a suburban here it will set you back like 100.000+ euro! (that is 130.000 dollar atm!) but i love this car. i wish i lived in the states because than i would buy one!
"You have to realize that you're kind of driving a house with V8"...which is why you have both hands off of the wheel and looking at a camera while driving it...
Oh God he's a foot taller than me. Asians are efficient and more practical but the bad side is that their small in every aspect. I cant imagine an Asian driving a full size American SUV or a pick up truck and he's only 5 foot 4
Are you comparing Suburban with M5 ? BMW M5 is last word in hi-tech car industry, it´s basically 4 door supercar. Can you ride Suburban 140 mph around autobann. Can you attack corners in high speed with that? Yes, Suburban have plenty of room inside. However if you have up to 2 children, you just driving a dead weight.
These monster would be much better off with a disel from from one off the German carmalers. Economy and torque + great power with new engines, wake up Amerikans, your tehnology is 10 years behind
in the usa fuel is free so that's not a problem, that's why they have big old non-technologic very powerful engines, gearshift sucks, this and plastic poor-design interior is why they cost so much less. but i guess there are prons and cons, having a big powerful car doesn't impact a lot ur personal finances in the usa and that's good. the real problem in the end why usa cars should change is because fuel efficiency and pollution, kyoto protocols? they say no
Cheap interior is problem of all american vehicles, that´s why i prefer German, English, Japanese cars. American SUVs have a lot of space and towing capacity. However if your are living in the big city with just 2 kids, what´s the point of buying one?
All I can think about when I ride in one is the team America theme song but in all seriousness this is great suv totally worth the investment even in 2018 I would even say its better than the new suburbans
you are good at your job bro, and you have a clear voice, and good review.

I love suburban!
ME TO!! :)
Me too
Don't forget about the Expedition EL. Most people like it more than the Suburban, but for some reason doesn't sell as well (kind of like good music these days).
It's really time for a remake. Can't wait for the 2014!
Same
Love this cat. His reviews are always thorough and funny. He's the complete opposite of the steriod junkie who makes 1-2 minute long videos.
I want a Suburban one day. :)
me to :)
Jared Webster They are pretty awesome and have been in production quite a long time. My family has a 2005 one, and I love it!
I freaking love this car and the year the Giants won good god either this or the s550 as my first car
It's actually a pretty positive review and it mirrors what most other reviewers say (even more generous than some), so I don't know where you get such a crazy idea from.
we just got this same one!
Haha I like how people are bashing this car. The big GM trucks/suvs are EXTREMELY overdue for a MAJOR facelift / redesign but people, at least where I live, buy these things like hot cakes. You can't leave the house without seeing about 20 of car things on the road.
dude.. you cant compare Mercedes GL class, expecialy the new one, thats next level
best most honest reviewer ive seen in a whike

I really love suburban but my favourate is yukon xl😍
GM really should offer a diesel option for the 3/4 ton model.
Wish full size vans received as much love from people as they used to. the relation to other materials and the amount is the key...

Nice review. Very helpful.
Good honest review, I like it
its not a car its a truck/suv best truck used for plowing and pulling all the heavy equipment its just a silverado with a topper is what a suburban is. they are trucks
Great video mate... but what is your suggestion on those horrible plastic chrome grills??
What's with the beard? Is he trying to take Hugh Jackman's job as Wolverine?
This is one of the few SUV's that comes with it's own zip code. LOL LOL LOL
BillLykken
great review
nice review
I like your watch Jeff
Good review
You cannot expect much out of a chevy, if luxury and comfort then you need the Escalade, and for a little sporty flair go with the Yukon!
Still prefer the Escalade ESV.
The Ace the suburban looks way better than the esv

What yr were the power fold down 3rd seats incorporated???
Klasse kommentiert!
Yeah but you cant tow as much or haul 7 to 8 people in complete comfort
i think you're missing the point of these full size SUVs , so in this class GM is king
plus i would think owning and maintaining an X5M would be allot more expensive.
As outdated and cheap it is, I love suburbans
I'm deeply convinced, that you sir, are not aware of what the word "sarcasm" means.
We're is the oil sending unit located
There's videos on that...
I have a suburban and her name is big mama😂😂
I love suburburnan
Why not get a Yukon XL or Escalade ESV? they're the same vehicle, but they just cost a little more.
how would this compare to a sequia or a expedition?
Agreed!
Hi, how is this car better than the Yukon?
62.000 expensive? haha thats like 47.000 euro.. here in the netherlands you can buy a BMW 318 for it with some options on it and it is half the size of that Suburban! I think that's the 6L the 5.3 gets 18-23 if i remember correctly
Dude it's a big car of course it going to be a gas guzzler
They used to have a diesel Tahoe if I remember.
is there diesel option in any other size
"You have to realize that you're kind of driving a house with V8"...which is why you have both hands off of the wheel and looking at a camera while driving it...
were gonna get one
what suv do u drive??? thought so
This is basics
ok. But in this case, you could even get a BMW X5M and would have more fun with MPG.
Gm has been promising world class interiors for years, I guess they settled for 3rd world interiors instead.
Chevrolet Said For Goodness Sake
Those are 20's
Haha... to all you short people... Good day everyone
so what is the difference looks the same to me
id rather get a escalade.
There the same thing too, like gmc yukon xl, chevy suburban and cadillac escalade esv
No Start/Stop engine button for 60k ?
The MPG is actually 15/20
whats the point of having this and the tahoe?
Google "disappearing+coolant, suburban" if you doubt me
5:28...I think the car that is coming is a Dodge, but I am not sure.
2:50 then keep watching in thing top right corner
Tell the premium price tag thing to Cadillac... 80,000 is WAY to much for the Escalade...
If the Chevy Tahoe has a hybrid model, why can't the Suburban have a hybrid model.
Yeah, this is the only car America makes...
Oh God he's a foot taller than me. Asians are efficient and more practical but the bad side is that their small in every aspect. I cant imagine an Asian driving a full size American SUV or a pick up truck and he's only 5 foot 4
The people that drive this monster are the bastards that take up 4 parking spacings in the malls ....
I don't get it? The Yukon Denali looks a lot better that the LTZ Tahoe or suburban, they are the same exact price. $65k is too much for the suburban.
No its called key. You may of heard of it.
i home in the next gen they let the seats fold flat
lol...most people have..."best selling hybrid of all time"....
Are you comparing Suburban with M5 ? BMW M5 is last word in hi-tech car industry, it´s basically 4 door supercar. Can you ride Suburban 140 mph around autobann. Wow Cheap materials and $62K? Nice Review anyways.
need a bigger demand for diesels then they'd do it
i have one alot alot of cheap plastics as wood and throughout the whole car
These monster would be much better off with a disel from from one off the German carmalers. Economy and torque + great power with new engines, wake up Amerikans, your tehnology is 10 years behind
Seriously... if you have a hard time reading the buttons.. then you must have poor vision..
they should mount a 50 caliber machine gun on top
5:47 why dodge why
AE86 of Mt. Akina bti

Every kid mom cars in 2020 or the ford explore

This would be my pick, but the 3rd row is pretty much garbage. Waiting for that to be fixed otherwise this would be perfect for me.
@sam zigo oh sorry Justin bieber, I offended your favourite car.
Basically a truck, not a luxury vehicle like Mercedes or BMW
Only way to buy a GM truck is USED and DEPRECIATED.
House on wheels to big for me but nice,
Don't forget Japanese cars. Full of plastic as well.
thats wrong man it gets 15/21 idk why it said 12mpg
Get a Golden Prius then.
@walkthepark The american consumer dont know much about diesel. They even think its bad and worst.
All I can think about when I ride in one is the team America theme song but in all seriousness this is great suv totally worth the investment even in 2018 I would even say its better than the new suburbans
If it had a diesel..
