Brilliant video thank you! I have no idea what to do with mending dishwashers so followed this vid step by step - found a small piece of glass in the impeller - it’s now on a full cycle and fingers crossed will complete. 🤞.
Thanks for a great video. Question on the stale water inside filter though, is that water recycled/reused inside each wash cycle? I hope not, that yucky liquid should just be in the drainage only and not for repeated rinsing in a cycle... In other words rinsing uses fresh water each time?
No that water is for drainage only and will sit there. When Dishwasher runs a cycle the fresh water comes out the spray arms then the drainage impeller \ pump drains the dirty water.
Thank you..i never realised there was an impeller to clean 😮 Is it possible to disassemble the main part ? I have just bought a new mesh filter which came with the main body also. No idea how to remove the old one from the main stainless steel part. Thanks
i saw a video that said if you use a detergent tablet, you do not need to add dishwasher salt because salt is already in the tablet. Is this true? I live in a hard water area. Please let me know so I don't damage my Bosch.
@@LurgsHowToGuides Yah I'm really not sure. I'll check the arms again and see if they are blocked but last time I looked they seemed clear. My outlet hose seems ok but sometimes I wonder if it's raised high enough. It's above the garbage disposal but not terribly so. We've noticed when the dishwasher expels the water that the sink will partially fill up as well. If you have any other brilliant ideas I'd be so appreciative :)
@@achilleze you could put the drainage hose into a large bucket lower down and watch whilst it did a wash and see if water fills the bucket, make sure you have two ready for when it fills up. Drainage should be fine, our last dishwasher drainage pipework was as high as the actual dishwasher
@@LurgsHowToGuides Thanks for replying - this is my partner’s DW & he hadn’t cleaned the filter in ages. I showed him how to do it (I have a Bosch too) but behind the plate that holds the filter, there’s a plastic plate with 2 screw holes. The spray arm comes out of it. Once the filter plate is removed I can see slimy gunk in the small cavity beneath this section. He said he undid the screws but he couldn’t get it to lift off - I haven’t tested that but it sure needs to be cleaned in there.
Probably once a month, I purposely left it longer so I could make this video. If you are careful with what you put in the dishwasher it may last longer but if dishes are very dirty it can clog up quickly.
I have a Bosch and tried to clean the filter but the debris was hardened. It was more like hardened soap. Soaking it helped but still a film was not coming off.
I clean the filter often, but didn’t know about the white piece. I watched this video hoping to find out where a small gray piece of plastic goes. It came out when I removed the filter, something that has never happened before. 😔

My dishwasher filters have never ever looked that dirty. I sometimes let mine go a few weeks before cleaning and doesn’t even look that bad. I don’t rinse much either scraping doesn’t happen as much as I should.
@@LurgsHowToGuides your dishwasher just looks like it gets a lots of grease build up in the filters. @@LurgsHowToGuides I hope you do not prerinse, but simply remove food debris with a fork or paper towel. Detergents work best when there's dirt on the dishes.
