"Battle" is easily BLUR's best song played live. The only others that would be in the discussion, are Oily Water, Trimm Trabb, Bugman, This Is A Low, Battery In Your Leg, Death Of A Party, maybe even Sing or Essex Dogs. Even including those great (and underrated) songs, I would take Battle as a greater live song than almost any other band out there could put out. Battle to me, is what "The Figurehead" is to The Cure.
I agree, this is my favourite song on "13". It's great to see Damon perform when he's not absolutely wrecked, by the way  He's a great artist and a great frontman. Blur, come back!
Look at the size of Coxons pedal effects box a 8:03. It's probably the biggest I have ever seen and his guitar sounds amazing as usual in this song. The band at this point aere the best live act in the world then they come back just as strong in 09 when they reformed. Well done boys and it was good to have you back because you were missed so much. Just wish you would make another album
Last time I said something bad about Oasis I almost got killed...and it was on a MGMT video, they were mocking on Live forever and everyone was convinced that it was a tribute, I just cant stand Oasis. Blur is awesome
I've never liked the studio version that much, I mean I would think it was good, 'cause there are no bad songs on such a brilliant album which is '13'. Anyway, the live version just blew me away! The whole performance is fucking awesome!
@MalinoweKarmi It should be Three people just don't understand genius. Sorry can't help be a grammar nazi when you're downing the 3 who disliked this. XD But I can't agree with you more though! This song is EPIC!!!
Man... how hard is it to not like Blur? Theyre all so cool and wierd and sweet and talented and stuff... :)

You really know your shit!
In Gothenburg 2023, people went nuts over the guitar riff at the end of Trimm Trabb. It was magical.
I agree

wish they would play this more
I’ll never forget listening to this while driving down the highway. Makes long trips go by so fast. Such a hypnotizing song.

dave is an awesome drummer. always said it
how come that no one ever used this one for a movie trailer or for a movie itself? It's so inspiring...
BLUR never fails to take me to places unknown to me.
Aww, I came back for a re-listen and I find my two comments from 10 years ago!! Still love Blur.
Damon’s falsetto gives me the chills.
this video was uploraded in 2006... incredible.
Absolutely brilliant track. One of my favorites on 13, right next to Coffee & TV, Trimm Trabb, and Tender.
Best song from the best album, imo
According to setlist.fm, this was the last time they played this song :(
Last time I said something bad about Oasis I almost got killed...and it was on a MGMT video, they were mocking on Live forever and everyone was convinced that it was a tribute, I just cant stand Oasis. Blur is awesome
Blur are coming back this year!!!
they are just too good cant wait
One of my favourite albuns by Blur and unfogettable show in Brazil (13 times).
blur one of those bands that just got better. 13 was a brilliant album
this is a tune that gets under your skin.. fantastic!
thats how you do music!!
oh, graham! ...love damon...
Dave rowntree rocks
alex james and jonny greenwood even look like actual brothers
love this song!
This is heavy and full of distortion at the end, but absolutely brilliant
so much more melodic than radiohead... which is what this songs reminds of
great apocalyptic tune at the intro...
the best!! :)
great opening to a gig !!
AMAZING!
Beetlebum @ Wembley in 1999 is my favortie live Blur performance.
Saya suke sgt awk Damon Albarn! Awak sgt AWESOME!!! And this song is just so grogeous and epic and the message is soooo profound! :D I love you Blur!
insane, love it.
Amazing
That would mean Steven Spielberg had used the song before Blur released it in 1999. And, in the words of Troy McClure, that would be downright nutty.
how they changed in one year, that damon of 00 looks more like the damon of 08 then the damon of 99
Holy fuck is Alex James a beast or what?
Ah - no! MTV used it at an awards ceremony whilst playing a trailer for Saving Private Ryan. So I was right all along!
Mwahahaha!
Una de sus mejores canciones de 13
BLUR knows more MUSIC than anyone here in this planet. No band can produce so much artistry so much complexity and so much falvor in just one album.
how on earth is this the same band that wrote there's no other way
and parklife?!?! They took revolutionizing to a whole other level.
I've never liked the studio version that much, I mean I would think it was good, 'cause there are no bad songs on such a brilliant album which is '13'. Anyway, the live version just blew me away! The whole performance is fucking awesome!
Ya!!!!!!!
I did not like the studio version that much, but WOW!!! this song live is just mesmerizing...
Drugs don’t work… yeahhh right!
Just done some research. My bad.
Maybe it was a trailer for the DVD, or something. Yeah, that'll be it...
i believe this song was used on saving private ryans movie trailer
can you heard 2D?
Radiohead vibe
More like Radiohead gives Blur vibes
At 7 minutes on, I'm sure Damon's playing a stylophone??

They didn't want to.
