21:57 and you dare to ask? Freakin' hell, the way that "sad" comes out is utterly devastating. He looks so upset throughout the whole song too, breaks my heart to see him like that...
ChiefWardo I was thinking the same and now I finally got it. Unfortunately, I didn’t like it! Maybe this live version doesn’t show us the real greatness that 13 has.
13 is a special album. I remember listening to it for the first time right after a painful breakup and from Graham's intro to Tender to the final dreamlike notes of Optigan I, it was a meaningful experience to say the least. I can see how songs like Tender and No Distance Left To Run were probably quite cathartic for Damon.
I'd love to know what was the meaning for him. And I completely agree. "13" is one of their best albums ever. Just brilliant. I also listened to it from the beginning to the end on repeat when it was released, being 13-14 and it was a religion to me. And it is nowadays too. That's a lot to say regarding an album,.
One of my all time favorite Blur live performances! A stunning and perfect set from beginning to end. Raw, passionate, intense, and full of so much feeling. This particular live version of "Swamp Song" is one of my top tier vocal performances from Damon. Graham is in full on guitar god mode throughout this entire set and seems to be completely absorbed in his own world as he plays. Alex and Dave are superb, as well. It's unbelievable to me how good they were. ❤️
Viva Overdrive 1999, Mediapark, Cologne, Germany 🇩🇪 (February 22, 1999) -Setlist- 00:24 Tender 08:17 Bugman 11:43 Coffee & TV 16:34 Swamp Song 21:15 1992 25:42 B.L.U.R.E.M.I. 27:49 Battle 34:49 Mellow Song 38:54 Trailerpark 43:50 No Distance Left to Run All the "13" tracks was performed live, except "Caramel", "Trimm Trabb" and "Optigan I".
1992 really needs the two loud feedback noises like the album does in this performance… for me that’s the whole point of the song. It’s the final release of pain.
Man, still remember how I woke up on a couch at a party totally fucked up by drinks and drugs, everyone still sleeping except me and a girl. This song was playing and the girl on my ride side smiled and out of a sudden I had her tongue in my mouth and we started dirty time while everyone was still sleeping. Time flies. I want to be young again :(
Swamp Song and 1992 would be amazing to bring out during the 2023 shows at some point
I totally agree
What 90's bands are in this epic level, sincerely? Amazing group...
Speaking for myself, not too many. They were huge, indeed 😊🙌❤️
Wrong setlist, this is the real one:
00:20 Tender
08:15 Bugman

16:32 Swamp song
21:18 1992
25:42 BLUREMI
27:50 Battle
34:48 Mellow song
38:55 Trailer park
43:50 No distance left to run
Played 13 almost in its entirety, but no tracks from any previous record. The boys were really somewhere else, and I really enjoy it.
Thanks
@@XistoKente wish they really had played Trimm Trabb as well too tho lol, altho they've played it loads of times since I guess
@@vanishing_girl Trimm Trabb is missing, they actually performed it here.

it hit so hard
Man how good Battle is
Thank you for this. It's so hard to find live performances of 1992 and it's a truly brilliant song.
ChiefWardo I was thinking the same and now I finally got it. Unfortunately, I didn’t like it! Maybe this live version doesn’t show us the real greatness that 13 has.
I've only found two recordings, this one and this other one (just audio) ruclips.net/video/Be-_g7TXNYU/видео.html

Love this concert. Plus I think it's the only time I've seen "1992" played live.

Epic!
La mejor época de blur, por goleada
13 es un disco infravalorado y muy maltratado en los directos. Es una pena
