Coxon AND Gallagher beneath each other! Feels like heaven
Noel is one of the greatest musicians of our time. He is more of a Beatles-mind. Weller is brilliant too. Both are legends. Brit-Rock-Gods. But Albarn ... he is one of us. And his voice maybe not that potent in terms of pro. singing. But he has something unique. You cannot learn this. It always chills everybody down. And he was never aiming for the stadions. He is one of the most innovative artists of all time. One of my favourites.
Damon's the better songwriter, no doubt in my mind. Or he didn't flame out as quickly as Noel, maybe that's it. The first two Oasis albums have some amazing, classic songs. But since then there's been, well, nothing. Nothing great anyway. Whereas Damon's been putting out fascinating, weird, catchy stuff for the last two decades, not just in Blur but in Gorillaz and his other side projects.

Too true. I grew up on Oasis but truth be told: Albarn is a true artist, while Noel writes songs because he enjoys being a millionaire rockstar. He doesn't really put his soul into his music-it's always been about the lifestyle. Not a dig on Noel, by the way, just something he'd probably tell anyone himself if asked.

It's so amazing how they both have incredible bands, and spent some time having a go at each other, but when they team up they are absolutely awesome, love it!!
This is quite possibly my new favourite thing, we should have more such collaborations between incredible artists. Both these guys have always being on the soundtrack to this simple, brilliant and joyous life experience.

In an interview a few years back (around the time of Beady Eye I think), Liam alerted the interviewer to the fact that "the lads" (i.e. Blur) were playing on the radio and claimed to like Damon Albarn. Both brothers get on fine with Mr A but alas, not with each other.
They are all friends and the media hype them up as being rivals. Their kids even hang out with each other.

I knew Albarn and Gallagher would do something some day. It's not like a a studio album by them wouldn't be potentially brilliant... admit it! Albarn's experimental ear and strong songwriting sense with Gallagher's tender ballads and wide screen swagger, that could be a really exciting venture...
