@sumtingron well I agree that diving into a Ronin story would have been pretty cool! But they should have done that storyline first and right after End Game though.
I honestly enjoyed Hawkeye more than most Disney+ series. It was a fun christmassy 6 episodes and Renner and Steinfeld had good chemistry together. The story was a little weak but I think the charm made up for it.
Absolutely loved Hawkeye, I really don't get the hate. I had personally never cared about his character until this show. He was just always there in the other movies to me. Loved how they made me care about Clint.
Totally agree when I heard they were making Hawkeye I was not that keen but watched it and thoroughly enjoyed it , not saying it was my fave mcu show that is Loki but it was way better than I expected especially when the amazing Flo came in as Yelena love her character .
@tonileo9849 That's true, but even then I didn't care about him. When he lost his family and rampaged against the crime underworld I understood why but the mcu had failed to make me care for that loss. This needs to be Clint holding a summer camp for all the young avengers they've introduced and done nothing with, get them being trained by daddy Clint and his former super spy wife, interacting with each other building proper personalities for the characters and bonds that can be used properly in the future films. Series 1 showed he was a good mentor, Kate is meddlesome and likes to poke her nose into things which could be how you get everyone together and Clint still wants to atone for past sins, wrap all that up into him playing teacher and mentor and training the next generation.
I actually really like the series a lot. I loved Kate Bishop’s character! I also enjoyed the interconnection between the Black Widow movie and this show. It’s massively underrated. I’m down for season two but it does need to be different and I would say a little darker. Not to the level where one of Clint’s kids get killed off. He needs some sort of push but not to the Ronin extent. I feel like it would be out of character to go all the way because he knows what he did was bad and I think him trying to stay good is his why of repaying Natasha for giving up her life in Endgame.

The premise was there. The Matt fraction story. They're dumb for expecting something different. I enjoyed for what it was, some moments I think it was lame, but it was fun, and gave us Yelena and Kingpin.
Lets go! Idc what people say, i liked Hawkeye. I'm a big hailey and renner fan. Plus yelena is one of my favorite new marvel characters easily. It wasn't epic but it was fun. As a raid/dredd fan, i hope they knock this concept out of the park. The key is to really keep the intensity going. Aka the opposite of the first season honestly.
John probably wants Hawkeye to say “One batch, Two batch, penny & dime” He describing the plot of the Punisher. The rumors say that Clint’s brother will be part of the cast. Maybe that’s the reason he’s suiting up again.
I get John and Rob’s arguments but I LOVED the Hawkeye show. I actually loved that it was a low stakes show because honestly, the whole spy globetrotting saving the world storyline has been overdone. They tried to do that with Secret Invasion and it SUCKED. The MCU actually needs more smaller stories that are just about the lives of ordinary people. NOT EVERYTHING has to be a massive high-stakes story. Also no John. I HATE the idea of killing one of Hawkeye’s children. It’s too sad and not what Clint Barton deserves after all he’s gone through.
i heard that clints brother barney barton aka trickshot will play a pivotal role in trying to rescue kate and clint that are captured and trying to escape wherever they are held in
I enjoyed the first season, The Raid angle does sound Interesting. For those who Enjoyed The Raid, I recommend a show called "Gangs of London" also Created by Gareth Evans. Probably has the best action sequences I've seen in a TV Show, very brutal though.
Hawkeye had potential to be much more than it was. I enjoyed it for the most part but it got too cartoony in places, which I think gave it an inconsistent tone.
I completely disagree with this line of thinking. Hawkeye doesn't have to be "pulled back in" to be compelling. That kind of story is WAY overdone in comics. Because the IP is ongoing, so many characters are never allowed to move on, and we get all sorts of situations where a character isn't allowed to move on and have their happy ending. I'm not interested in the Hawkeye John wants to see. The first season wasn't perfect, but the flaws weren't that Clint didn't have enough trauma. Let the man live. He's been through enough. There are other ways to tell exciting stories that don't involve Ronin. This is one of those situations where you have an idea in your head that you want so much, anything else is going to disappoint you. I feel like John is just setting himself up for disappointment. It doesn't need to be Ronin. Hawkeye has existed for many, many years, and Ronin is a fairly small part of that.
We need Kate bishop Hawkeye to Push towards a new generation. There is a following who loves the Kate version and it doesn't take away from Clint being around
His wife was a SHIELD agent. Someone from the past finds out and kills her for something she did in the past. That wouldn’t be as dark, and would tie the past into now
As much as I would love to see a Hawkeye season 2, I want to see a full version of Rogers the Musical even more. If Disney can do Hamilton, they can do that as well.
I liked the series quite a bit, and I'm not even a huge Hawkeye fan. Though I did binged it in two sittings. I think that made a difference. It definitely felt more like a watch multiple episodes in a row show, than a week to week. Like a long movie.
The show wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. It was like a filler episode on the CW Arrow series, something you can sit down and watch on TV when it's happening but you don't actively seek it, but just like the CW Arrow, the show has potential to be really good if they gave them a similar episode count for a season and an actually amazing antagonist/villain. Honestly the worst thing about this is that we'd need to wait years for it with not much expectations. But the cast is fine (echo was meh though), the premise is fine and the world is definitely interesting. Although considering the MCU as a whole, a show about the very beginning of the young avengers with just the 3 we have now, introducing a 4th halfway on the season and finishing with a 5th would be probably best, with Clint being the mentor avenger figure since people actually like him and also because it's currently hard to figure out a chemistry between Hawkeye and Captain Marvel
Besides making it a family buddy cop film which I like I think they over looked that the series took cues from the Matt Fraction Hawk eye run that did pretty good where Hawkeye was kind of street level. If they do it again I think they need to add his brother Barney.
Honestly had no problem with Hawkeye, that’s what the series were supposed to be then, not movies, but expansions and stories from the mcu and canon. 🤷♂️
For me Hawkeye was an ok series, the story wasn’t really amazing or anything but it had enough to where I was like “Ok, that was watchable” Although much like with Falcon And Winter Solider it was a prime example of what was clearly an MCU movie that was cut up disguised as a series because they wanted to create more exclusive MCU content for Disney+, I agree though in the sense that I kinda wanted the series to play off of Hawkeye’s time during his 5 years as Ronin, because that was awesome and I wanna see more of it, like it could’ve been about this crime lord coming after Clint for revenge because he killed tons of his men during those 5 years or something, I think the hard part about doing a season 2 now is that Clint handed over the mantle to Kate Bishop, and so now there’s really nowhere to go except having her be the star now and I’m not sure if anyone wants that, I think it’d be best to just not do it and have Kate Bishop transition into the movie world the next time a big team up movie comes around
Here's my pitch of their concept. Kate gets kidnapped, and they bring her to some giant building. She doesn't know that Hawkeye gets caught trying to follow. He's made to fight gladiator style and slowly hypes the captives to fight free with him. Kate is convinced by the main bad guys half good daughter to back their "innocent" generic plan. Then she sees clint broke free on a camera and fights to find him. They team up, and clint is all beat up by then, and she takes over. The emphasis is on clint quickly taking his dirty as a hero serious to protect the innocent. So he has the classic save her or the prisoners moment, and he just tries really hard instead and saves everyone, lol. Also, an emphasis on showing how precise he is. He'll fight in the pit scenes smart like sherlock in normal time. She'll still prove to be worthy of the mantle. Lastly, a surprise cameo from the girl iron first kicking butt lol.
I'm sorry, but I don't like the Hawkeye has to be "bada**" argument unless it sucks. Also, wasn't Disney+ Hawkeye an adaptation of a popular story arc from the comics? And that story from what I know about it, was not some epic spy thriller. Sorry, but not every Marvel story can be world ending story.
It's not that he wasn't a badass, it's that he didn't get to fight a proper enemy in the show. After over a decade of being in the MCU he gets a show and doesn't even want to fight in any of the fight scenes

I have to agree with John. Marvel needs to explore the darker aspects of Hawkeye's character. They could either threaten his family or even kidnap them, compelling him to confront any obstacle in his path to avoid losing them once more.. bringing a mix of John wick and Lian Neeson- Taken
I didn't like that he didn't want to fight in any of the fight scenes he was in and how weak he was in the show. He could exterminate entire cartels solo and now he needs a rookie Avenger to save his life 4 times and can't even keep her safe? And why didn't Clint go after Kingpin during the blip? The only Avenger worthy opponent and he doesn't go after him? Fisk manipulated him into killing people and he decided to let it go? Why wasn't this part explored more?
The show has to feel like a show and not a overblown 5 hr movie. And take some notes from X-Men 97. See how much story they had in the every single 30 min episode.
Both the raid movies are cool as fighting and story I think, Raid 2 was better than the first, so hopefully it’s true. (It’s just one kid, he can make another type shit)
I would do a TV-MA Show where Hawkeye family is either kidnapped or dead and he goes full ape shit on the villians and it’s a dark John wick style show where Hawkeye is not holding back.
Yeah I don't think you have to go *THAT* dark. I think you can take another example from the Godfather, more accurately 2 - the scene in the bedroom, as well as a couple other things - have someone take a shot at him or his wife at his house, the kind where even if no one else is hurt they could have been. Remember - he's kept this place a secret for years, so you have that violation on top of now someone being a clear threat to his family by taking another, maybe even more dangerous shot or tell others who will about it. Especially after losing them once already - that is gonna be more than enough to have him decide Ronin is coming out of retirement seeing as after something like that - you really think he's going to let anyone who may know where he lives associated with whoever took that shot live? Least not without someone (most likely Kate given season 1 unless they actually bring his wife in) talking him down.
OK you guys miss the who thing that this was a Movie for Kids and so was the Marvels Disney was trying to make a Family adventure with Hawkeye and I want the 2nd season
I thought Hawkeye was a fun movie ,I loved the chemistry between Kate Bishop and Yelena. I also think this could be true because they’re supposed to be building the street level world and Hawkeye would fit in nicely 🤷♂️ ….just my thoughts
Hawkeye is my favorite avenger. Ever since the beginning. I love Jeremy Renner and his character, but Hailey Steinfield really made it annoying. I couldn't stand her. The show is called Hawkeye and should be about him. Sucks they're using her to replace him slowly ): But would love a season 2 though since Jeremy is in it.
Hawkeye wasn’t so bad if it primarily focused on Hawkeye and Kate Beeshops characters instead of all the side characters that took away the story and interest in the show
No don't hurt the kids, have Kingpin take Hawkeye's wife. That will take him back to the way he was in Endgame. Have that we goes back to Kate Bishop to help him. You can also show more Young Avengers and have them watch after the kids.
I'd rather see a Young Avengers (series of film) featuring Kate Bishop, Ms. Marvel, Stature, Iron Heart, Shuri. If they take too long, none of them will be "Young".
It should have been Kates show and journey trying to solve this thing to get the item with Clint only popping up now and then. Then we could find out near the end that the thing Kate has been struggling and fighting for through 5 or 6 epiaodes, Clint had a plan to get it back easily he just had to wait for the right time. It wouldve paralled Tony and Peter in Homecoming that these new heroes dont realize how much more competent their mentors are and gives them a bar to aspire too. Because frankly it was embrassing that Clint had so much trouble handling this matter. It felt very small time. In the Avengers Black widow is taking on some gang leader who comes across like he has at least half as much power as the track suit mafia and she handles it like its no big deal at all. I get that kingpin was involved but that just didnt make sense at all and felt tacked on.

With Disney + reducing their Marvel output, a second season of Hawkeye, seems an odd choice.
13:38 I think John might be onto something 😂
I didn't like that he didn't want to fight in any of the fight scenes he was in and how weak he was in the show. He could exterminate entire cartels solo and now he needs a rookie Avenger to save his life 4 times and can't even keep her safe?
And why didn't Clint go after Kingpin during the blip? The only Avenger worthy opponent and he doesn't go after him? Fisk manipulated him into killing people and he decided to let it go?
Why wasn't this part explored more?
I'd rather see a Kate and Yelena series personally..
John sounds like a person who don't care for children to enjoy marvel shows
How great would it be if he was hunting a different gang every episode. Id watch that Ronin show
“They’ve abandoned their roots”
So….. they’re gonna have the same original 6 forever?
This constant whining of losing the OG is becoming annoying. The same ppl would be asking for dynamism if the keep the OG going on forever.
If Arrow can get 8 seasons Hawkeye can at least get 7 more seasons to match Arrow
@Whatwhatwhat1135 that's right 👍🏻
The show has to feel like a show and not a overblown 5 hr movie. And take some notes from X-Men 97. See how much story they had in the every single 30 min episode.
i want season 2 to be TV MA and feel like the netflix marvel shows
Both the raid movies are cool as fighting and story I think, Raid 2 was better than the first, so hopefully it’s true. (It’s just one kid, he can make another type shit)
13:18 I get John’s intention with this, but I think someone kidnapping his kids would do the job 😂
This medical kit thing is so irresponsible. It’s gonna lead to inappropriate antibiotic use which will lead to reduced antibiotic usefulness
I would do a TV-MA Show where Hawkeye family is either kidnapped or dead and he goes full ape shit on the villians and it’s a dark John wick style show where Hawkeye is not holding back.
Good
Maybe we will see mockingbird this time
Yeah I don't think you have to go *THAT* dark.
Didn’t even let the other ngas talk
OK you guys miss the who thing that this was a Movie for Kids and so was the Marvels Disney was trying to make a Family adventure with Hawkeye and I want the 2nd season
Hawkeye vengeance ❤ the story
I thought Hawkeye was a fun movie ,I loved the chemistry between Kate Bishop and Yelena. I also think this could be true because they’re supposed to be building the street level world and Hawkeye would fit in nicely 🤷♂️ ….just my thoughts
Hawkeye is my favorite avenger. Ever since the beginning. I love Jeremy Renner and his character, but Hailey Steinfield really made it annoying. I couldn't stand her. The show is called Hawkeye and should be about him. Sucks they're using her to replace him slowly ):
But would love a season 2 though since Jeremy is in it.
Why?
Why!? Smh
R u serious
Quality over quantity Disney. This series was horrendous 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
Hawkeye has made it onto my must watch list for the holiday season! 🏚🍕🐕🏹🎄🦉
