I think it would be much more interesting if each participant started with their own figure and then passed it on to the next participant in a circle. Then you would have 4 finished figures, and each participant could participate in different stages of painting.
Also an ending side by side of all 4 stages with the same lighting instead of just handheld footage vs the sweet sweet money shots of the finished product
Now this is a fantastic idea. Unfortunately, lets say you have all 5 of them do it, it scales up the time taken for the cute little project to 25 hours from 4...
I think you should have shown comparisons of the model on each stage before and after side by side. Or at the very list footage of all the stages together so we could see what has changed and how.
@3:59 my wife isn't a painter at all and is only adjacently related to the hobby through me. I had her listen to Vince's answer to his approach and now she wants to know if she and Vince can be friends because he made her laugh quite a lot.
I've been forcing myself to paint differently with each model in my army. I play Ultramarines, and the variety makes every model pop out enough to be intriguing, but not obnoxious. I write the methods I used and the order on a tiny piece of laminated paper and glue it to the base folded up. That way, I can reference the model if I'm feeling like I need some inspiration and direction.
Hey Jon, just wanna say I appreciate what ya do and seeing you get thinner has been inspiring me to help with my own weight loss now too. I hope the reason you're slimming down is for positive ones of course and its nothing bad.
This is one of my favorite videos you've done so far. Love seeing the Vinceybros interactions without it becoming just banter, and the experiment itself was fun to see play out
What a fun project! Interesting to see each painter's perspective as they worked after each other. Jon you have dropped weight? Or maybe it is the camera angle, but you aren't taking up the same amount of space on the screen as normal. Hope you are well/changing muscle mass purposefully. Or maybe it is just me and I'm imagining things. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next for entertaining us.
Great idea for a video! Would love to see more the same vein; like all 4 starting their own model (maybe even identical model?) and passing so all 4 get finished, but each artist is at a different stage of the process on each model. Maybe one that is different artists for each major stage: Converting/Kitbashing, Painting, Basing? Maybe 4 artists get the same challenge, like kitbash a hero model for X character, and follow how each approaches the task and interprets the source material. Could keep it time limited to add some additional pressure to bring out even more creativity. Great stuff :)
A really interesting exercise and all credit to everyone for getting into the spirit. If I may, a couple of suggestions for next year's go: 1. Include yourself in the relay. 2. Draw lots for order of painting. 👍
This is a great idea! I think it would be cool if you found a group of fine art painters, you know 'real' artists, and set them loose on a model to see what they could do.
I hold my pens, pencils, brushes etc exactly like that and I always got in trouble in elementary school for it (catholic school- nuns 😬)… but i’m a professional artist and illustrator now and Ben is.. well Ben so I guess it kinda works 😂
This was a cool experiment. You should participate in the next one. Like maybe a unit that you all paint up using the same color pallet and how everyone interprets that scheme
9:22 I used to do drawings in high school with a friend where we each would draw a piece and then pass it back and forth. Some of my proudest art was those, and the creativity!
I love this. There is something charming and endearing about the whole thing. No doubt the model would be nice but the whole process was really a good vibe.
Jon as an undead enjoyer you might like to know that this is a common poetry exercise where poets follow each other writing the lines of a poem, and it's called 'The Exquisite Corpse.'
I did a lot of concert photography back in the mid 200x throught teens, met tons of various rock stars including people i grew up listening to, never raised my eyebrow much, but man...what i would give to be able to attend vincycon
Ill have to check the other socials, but it would be really cool if you had the 4 finished states lined up next to each other to be able to see the changes after each painter was done with the model.
Something similar was done for Battletech miniatures on the Lords of the Battlefield forums many years ago. The mini was mailed from one person to the next and each person added whatever they wanted to the mini.
The video lacked a side by side shot of the end of the 4 stages at the end in my opinion. Other wise i LOVE concepts like this. It was GREAT ! Would love to see more :)
The real challenge will be seeing you match the other minis to this one and keeping them all looking coherent. That is a video we REALLY want to see...
Great idea! And yes, as Demokritt already pointed out, next time give everyone a model and rotate those... maybe only 30 min per stage... only double the painting time but 4 times the models! 😂
Looks great although thankfully the Scarecrow is a camo unit so having a slightly different colourscheme won't detract from the overall cohesiveness of the rest of the PanO Kestrel Force
In this amazing hobby of ours, it always amazes me at how many different styles of painting there are. Plus I am always mazed at the results of everyones and how we all differ in our technique. long live painting figs.
You're going to be the reason I end up picking a box of infinity up. Its a shame it doesn't appear very popular in the UK? Seems my local store Element stock it but don't seem to do game days which is a shame. Excellent content as always!
Really love the concept and idea of the video. I was missing the opinion of the finished model of all the participants. But maybe they are incapable in not giving shit to the other painters 😂
You should get some small youtube channels to do it for the exposure. I'm sure they'd be willing paint for the legendary Ninjon and get content for their channel
Hey Ninjon. Thanks for all your great videos. Would please create a video that proves (or not) if it’s feasable to paint a miniature with POSCA feltpens ? Thanks
I feel like I suggested this ages agooo! We used to do this at the dinner table with the crayon, you would draw something in the scene and someone else with continue on 😂
I think it would be much more interesting if each participant started with their own figure and then passed it on to the next participant in a circle. Then you would have 4 finished figures, and each participant could participate in different stages of painting.
This is what I was thinking when the painting started
Also an ending side by side of all 4 stages with the same lighting instead of just handheld footage vs the sweet sweet money shots of the finished product
Also would get them to pain more of your models.
Now this is a fantastic idea. Unfortunately, lets say you have all 5 of them do it, it scales up the time taken for the cute little project to 25 hours from 4...
This
“God has allowed me to live another day and I’m about to make that everyone else’s problem”- Vince Ventruella
words of warning: do not challenge Vince
Vince is such a legend XD
I think you should have shown comparisons of the model on each stage before and after side by side. Or at the very list footage of all the stages together so we could see what has changed and how.
Vince and Ben hold paint brushes like monsters
6:13 I thought Vince had a pretty crazy brush grip, but Ben's is even stranger.
@3:59 my wife isn't a painter at all and is only adjacently related to the hobby through me. I had her listen to Vince's answer to his approach and now she wants to know if she and Vince can be friends because he made her laugh quite a lot.

Anyone notice? Slimjon?
Was wondering if I was crazy.
I did. As a fellow diabetic it is concerning.
Deffo a slimjon now.
fr 🔥
Maybe he finally put down the Cane's and Diet mountain dew?
What would be interesting to hear is what would you do as a hypothetical 5th painter on this model if you were to finish it up.
In all honesty, I just came here to get a sneak peek of Vincy Con. It just seems so much fun!
That paint job actually came out so sick looking. Very impressive work.
It turned out great! Looked like a lot of fun.
It would be neat to see the same painters doing different parts.
holy shit sam is legendary, i can't believe how that model looks after he got his hands on it, the model turned out great
I’m really liking all of these Vinci con videos
Great idea buddy, going to give it a try with a model and our group
once again Vince ensures that all others will remain broken and defeated before him
This is one of my favorite videos you've done so far. Love seeing the Vinceybros interactions without it becoming just banter, and the experiment itself was fun to see play out

Great stuff :)
That brush control with that HUGE brush on that mini baffles me. :O just... wow.
Uncle Atom cleverly keeping quiet and out of the way lol. Man, what a room full of talent.

👍
This ended up as an absolutely gorgeous paintjob for a beautiful sculpt. Nice.
Oh baby I'm loving the infinity content
I love the sinister plan of getting the guys to paint your JSA! More Infinity!
This is a great idea! I think it would be cool if you found a group of fine art painters, you know 'real' artists, and set them loose on a model to see what they could do.
Essentially what you did is what the surrealists called the "Exquisite Corpse" but with miniatures. Nice.
Wait ... did you just film and publish the rarest footage of all time ?? Vince Venturella smiling @4:05. My mind is blown right now
You beat me to it, i was thinking the same thing
Love it, now I want to see the rest of that box painted!
Such a fantastic video, from the format, to the pacing and editing! I'm honestly blown away with the quality- it feels like a MAJOR step up.
When you finish work at the exact same time a new Ninjon video drops. ♥
Ben holds his brush like my kids do 😂😂
I hold my pens, pencils, brushes etc exactly like that and I always got in trouble in elementary school for it (catholic school- nuns 😬)… but i’m a professional artist and illustrator now and Ben is.. well Ben so I guess it kinda works 😂
Vince does too I think
@@mrbigphil22 maybe the claw grip is a secret technique lol
Love seeing you get into Infinity! I hope to see how you do the rest of your forces, I hope they get more features on the channel!
nice result of interesting experiment. Can't wait to see all other models done by you. Your previous JSA miniature paintjob was a damn BLAST.
LOVE Vince opening by giving everyone else New Game Plus difficulty
Heck yeah, Infinity!!!
This was a cool experiment. You should participate in the next one. Like maybe a unit that you all paint up using the same color pallet and how everyone interprets that scheme
3:11 never noticed vinces ham fist brush grip. Incredible.
9:22 I used to do drawings in high school with a friend where we each would draw a piece and then pass it back and forth. Some of my proudest art was those, and the creativity!

also: what a seriously cool figure to have on your shelf.
Ill have to check the other socials, but it would be really cool if you had the 4 finished states lined up next to each other to be able to see the changes after each painter was done with the model.
This was a great video! Really enjoyed it! Hopefully we will see more Infinity!
Something similar was done for Battletech miniatures on the Lords of the Battlefield forums many years ago. The mini was mailed from one person to the next and each person added whatever they wanted to the mini.
This is so great, also happy to see Ben at Vincycon this year! You guys are really picking up more friends.
Vince came with the best philosophy possible 😂😂
That was really cool and I kind of want to try that with my friends now.
The video lacked a side by side shot of the end of the 4 stages at the end in my opinion. Other wise i LOVE concepts like this. It was GREAT ! Would love to see more :)
So much talent in one room! That was awesome.
The real challenge will be seeing you match the other minis to this one and keeping them all looking coherent. That is a video we REALLY want to see...

Great vid. A good follow up would be to see you trying to emulate the finished mini across the rest of the warband.
Cool concept, great video, amazing painters and a very good looking model!
This is amazing! Love the camaraderie! Cool experiment too and Vince is always the agent of chaos!😅
Looks great although thankfully the Scarecrow is a camo unit so having a slightly different colourscheme won't detract from the overall cohesiveness of the rest of the PanO Kestrel Force
Such a great concept! I really love the experiment!
I like it. It gives me a very 2000 AD comics vibe. Weird that a collab from those 4 painters is what it ended up looking like.
the finished model is surprisingly really cool
In this amazing hobby of ours, it always amazes me at how many different styles of painting there are. Plus I am always mazed at the results of everyones and how we all differ in our technique. long live painting figs.
Great video, awesome to see a new guy at the vincycon table. Hopefully he becomes a regular.
Love this idea :)
sandtrap is great fun, i'm painting though my atm trying to get it all done before offical release. so thankfull they hard it at spiel
Love your stuff!! Keep it up
It’s been at least 20 years since I’ve seen a KMFDM shirt! Thanks for the nostalgia kick 😂
Vincey V is my spirit animal. lol this was such a good idea for a video.
This has to spawn a trend ^^ BUT, something bigger and for more time in each person. So it can be a chain of videos.
Seeing Ben using the old orange Red Grass Everlasting Palette makes me feel good about using mine still. 😂
What does that say about me?
4:27 - mad respect to Benjamin for wearing KMFDM Symbols shirt! 🤘
Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa!
Are you telling me that NinJohn and Scott the Miniac.... Are different people?!
2:10 rocking that new Monument Hobbie's spray can primer. Hell yeah.
The Golden Demon entry is coming along nicely, sir!
You should get some small youtube channels to do it for the exposure. I'm sure they'd be willing paint for the legendary Ninjon and get content for their channel
Love this idea. I will try to convince my friends to do this
That claw grip of the 2nd painter was beautiful
That drove me crazy watching that. No way that can be comfortable in long painting sessions.
@@gstillings5140I mean have you seen some of his stuff? I guess we all need to start painting like this 😅
Awesome video, I really thought this idea was such a fun and cool idea.
"Ben I think your brush is bigger than the model" hahahaha 😆
Hey noticed the weight loss. Hope it isn’t cancer. Praying for you buddy.
model is sick, infinity is sick. Heck yeah!
Another great way to do this is have everyone paint 1 mkdel in there style and then have then all work on 1 model
I love seeing so many cool dudes in one vid
Hey Ninjon. Thanks for all your great videos. Would please create a video that proves (or not) if it’s feasable to paint a miniature with POSCA feltpens ? Thanks
Jon looking great! Good job buddy🔥
Ben's kmfdm shirt is pretty awesome!
Your hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed 💪 Keep it up!
Oooh, you got Sandtrap already. I want!
great idea and tricking your friends never gets old ;)
Cool idea, id like to see round robin where everyone starts with a model and rhen passes it over.
Vince just described being a software developer
I love the hazard stripe pattern on the front cloth!
Great video idea..also the music slaps
Lord of the Flies...with paint...
more infinity stuff please :D
Man I was really waiting for the last leg be uncle Adam and for him to just destroy all these great painters work haha.
Shoutouts to Vince's Stargate machine and Ben's t-shirt.
I feel like I suggested this ages agooo! We used to do this at the dinner table with the crayon, you would draw something in the scene and someone else with continue on 😂
It might have been on Miniacs channel
