This was actually why I went with the Base. You have so many things you can do to at your own pace. I have a 22’ base 4d and I love. I’m taking my time with how I want to build it up waiting for companies to come out with aftermarket designs.
Same. Carbonized Gray. 2 inch lift and 35’s is the next and biggest game changer upgrade. Lots of little things have been done. I’ve learned unless it’s one of the high end models the first 4 models or so are pretty much the same as combos of add ones can exist on any trim. For example mine came with few add one, aux switches, sound deadening head boards, exterior keypad lock. Really all I needed. Added the rubber Ford mats all round and, grabbed a passenger assist grab handle online. To be honest I love the Base black and dark grey color way. I don’t like the look of the red, blue or orange interior trims. I’ve always like black interiors so for me it was the best choice. Another plus is you can really choose whatever leather you want down the road. The leather that comes with the trims are limited colors.
I remember a saying, "If you cant buy it twice you shouldnt buy it" or something like that, best I could ever do for a new car would probably be like 35k-38k MAX and the fact these are 40k+ for a base model 4 cylinder cloth seats, basic steelies is crazy to me! Total rip off nothing about these cars is justifiable for their prices
That’s why I went with Base. Added 35” tires and 3 1/2 lift kit. Rock lights. Changed out the Bronco grill letters to white with lights. 12” subwoofer on the tailgate. Total investment. $39k. So many think it’s a high end model. Ford knew what they were doing when they got rid of Base. No brainer. You pay way less
I saw a Base Bronco at local dealer. They wouldn’t sell it until they did new wheels and tires, a lift and other add ons to make a $40,000 vehicle into a $55-60,000 vehicle.
The Base Bronco is all I want, but it’s not affordable. Future Ford of Sacramento wants 59k for a base 4 door. Fairfield Ford was charging 7k over for their 2 door base models. Fairfield sold their inventory at a mark up this March. People are financing, dealers are marking up. Not going to change until people go broke.
I in Sac too I wanted the 2door base manual that was 31k but I refuse to pay the ripoff prices can't understand how people are willing to pay it as long as they do the dealers will keep ripping you
As soon as production picked up they killed the cheapest models, keeping broncos above msrp even used. Good job ford, fuck this company I gave away order to the dealer to sell.
This is a similar model I test-drove last month. It was used with 2,500 miles and $44k. I then ordered a 4-door Big Bend. There were no allocations for base models. My order will go to order the week of June 12. The dealer said a 6-12 month wait period! Not anymore! This was a great review!
15 months wait for my Base Bronco. Drove home from dealership. Put new M/T Baja 285 tires on my rebought Wildtrak rims and now I am the proud owner of my base Wildtrak without any other modifications. All for 37k out the door.
You can’t even order a base Bronco and they are really hard to find on the dealer lots. I saw a base the other day looked like it had a 2 or 1 1/2 inch lift with what looked like 33s and it really looked nice. It had some really nice touches like the old school chrome Bronco on the sides and outlined the Bronco lettering on the grill in the body color to make it pop it was a cool little build that probably didn’t take much money.
You can order the base again. You might have to wait a while though. They are only making about 10k of these a month, it is in high demand, but they are prioritized inside Ford because this is a very important vehicle for Ford; they are taking about half of Jeep's market, which is a big win for Ford, because they haven't had a competitor for a very long time.
I went with a '23 Maverick XL with a fullsize spare as only option for $23K - while I appreciate the Bronco even a base model at nearly $39K was not worth the extra $ IMO
I don't like the black around the wheel well's and the rims. But I do like the look of the 2 door better than the four. It reminds more of the original bronco
On mine when you open the back window in the rain all the water on the glass pours "inside" of the vehicle. Can't stand that. They are also overpriced in that base version. Only plus is that they are generally less in price than a Jeep Wrangler.
I wish more reviews were of base models. The dealer's of course have to show us always the very top of the line models. Well with dealer's high MSRP prices with add on's most of us can only afford the lower range of models. The only dealer's that just give us everything in all packages is Subaru. They rarely even hit us on MSRP. That's the way they should all be with safety and tech included. Thanks for the awesome review as always Ben.
I just paid 2 k for tires on my f150 now add rims and the 5th tire on the back plus the lift and the other goodies , the price of the Sasquatch package isn’t that bad.
I have a Maverick Tremor on order for 39k! Would getting the base 2 door Bronco be a better buy? I just want to know what’s better. I don’t need a truck, but wouldn’t hurt. The Bronco still practical and capable. Bottom line! What’s the Best Buy?
GREAT VODEO BEN!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! BASE MODEL IS THE WAY TO GO!!!! IT SAVES YOU MONEY. SO, YOU CAN DECIDE WHAT UPGRADES YOU WANT TO ADD. MY NISSAN FRONTIER IS A BASE MODEL. AND I LOVE IT!!!! I AGREE WITH YOU 100%.
Anything Ford makes me nervous, especially when the word "affordable" gets attached to it. Ford already cutting corners, imagine how badly that thing will be made
It reminds me of the Bronco II I used to have. Personally I think that’s what this reiteration should be called. And there should be a full size version built on a truck frame. But we’ve got a new generation of engineers who ooze with arrogance and they’d rather tell you what you should want as opposed to asking. The worse part is you have a generation of sheep that like it that way. And I’ve checked web sites they are few and far between. And it’s rarer still to find one that isn’t marked up thousands over the MSRP.
It is a throw back to before those big broncos based on the f150 platform. The first broncos in the early 70s and 60s were like these. Your bronco 2 is the bases for the sport I believe. I had a 69 it was a blast on the beach.
It’s dope, but I really wish they chose a nicer looking wheel. This thing looks like it’s missing hubcaps and looks super old when you look at the wheels lol
Helpful information, although, Ben, you speak as if you want to get home for dinner. It's understood in the same way someone speeds up a recording, but it's not necessary. Speak as if you're talking to people in person.

38,000 for a base model. That's messed up,and it's a four cylinder. It's like gm,with the base Colorado, and canyon, they'll run about 34 plus. It's ridiculous.
To me the new broncos look like the old bronco II and the Jeep renegade had a baby they are definitely a hard pass for me at any price. Owners of Dealerships should be put in jail for theft by deception. Dealerships can't figure out why they can't sale new vehicles and don't understand why banks are refusing to give loans? Where I live there are 2021 new vehicles sitting and they still will not take more than 10 percent off of asking.
38k for the base model... wow what a crazy new world we live in
This should be like 23k max
100% agree

@@ocas5230 back when bush was in charge. Biden ruins everting

dont waste your money, this is garbage
This should be low to mid $20k. These prices are insane, almost as insane as the people buying them
Yup... all local dealers are a min $10k over MSRP still... without adding any of the bs dealer options to them...
Finally, someone blaming the customers and not the dealership. They will mark up any car as high as they can if someone will pay it.

Yep, that locker, vinyl and aux switches are hard yo pass.
OJ would've loved this
In my opinion the base bronco pays a better homage to the classic Broncos look of the 50s and 60s compared to others.
I wish Suzuki would offer the Jimny here. This kinda reminds me of a little larger version of one
They did. It was called the Samurai. Consumer Reports made up tests to flip it, and got it banned
