You can also do this a bit faster if you just do the C2W mission over and over, flying into the Eastern Communications Outpost and destroying all the objectives with the minigun. Takes about 3 runs of the mission in order to get a medal and earn a new rank.
Its probably easier and faster to do the C2W mission 3 times in a row to level up your guys. This may work for some, but a dumb mistake could happen in an FOB, and if you die there you could lose a guy. SImply strip down to the lowest gear you can to maximise your GMP rewards, load up C2W mission, and choose the landing zone in the red. Then when you can move, get into the helicopter's gatling gun and shoot all the radar dishes. You can even get total stealth if no one directly spots you. switching sides on the copter when you are facing the side with all the soldiers will help you not get spotted. Doing this three times in a row not only gets you a badge, it will get you the foxhound emblem, since you will S-rank the mission all three times. You should also probably upgrade your helicopter's armor. Its boring but it works like a charm. If you die, you wont lose your guy. I usually only bother with guys who already have the badge for being a puppet soldier, since those guys will skyrocket in stats even better.
All you need to do is put the staff member you're using under direct contract and you won't lose him in FOB missions, whether you are killed or extracted.
+Nunya bizness nope. Not at all. Try it, use the best S++ staff you have and rank them up to increase their abilities. You get perks for using S Class staff at the cost of less espionage points. For example S++ medical recovers health really fast. Just remember to put them in contract.
I'm being completely serious right now: FOB missions are so annoying and shitty... I don't know why they emphasize so much on them considering how nobody likes them and they don't make any money out of it... (NOBODY buys MB coins)
I didn't like FOB mode at the beginning, but now I like it for some reason. Maybe it's the challenge, a 4/4 FOB is way more challenging than a regular Story mission in my opinion. Too bad they didn't add in Co-op or split screen play. Imagne Co-op pvp, it would have been intresting.
I really wish they had added a more in depth unit organization system for organizing staff into more specific groups within the 5 units. I’ve always wanted to be able to just make a platoon or squad of all the guys I want to level up, so you don’t have to go through everyone individually all the time. Edit: I also wish they had added funerals and awards ceremony’s for your guys, I guess this is what mods are for but I’m just a lowly console peasant
Fair warning, if you are going to first farm elite or legendary staff to then level them up, use either Punished venom Snake or deploy a combat staff member with Booster stat, then go roaming the missions that had prisoners and rescue them, and then use that video tutorial to get medals to level them up. Good hunting
Don't forget defend a fob with them and you get Medal of Honor which increases stats a lot more Flaming buffalo I have 2 medals on her only missing one Medal of Honor and the distinguished service one

I mean, I've observed that some staff get a lot of upgrade after getting a medal, and others a very few punch. What is considered to boost the soldier rank? Espionage Points obtained during a mission? Action Points?
Once you get a soldier, you can only improve the rank a certain amount in all categories. You can't keep improving them. They stop at some point. I prefer the artstyle of the other games, the controls were worse(to switch weapons/items you pm have to stand still), and other things I nitpick about, but all in all it's a fun game. It was interesting to see where they got some of the ideas for MGSV.

Your captured staff get it from what I've been led to believe, not yourself. The extracted puppet soldiers will always get a service cross, wandering motherbase soldiers will always get this cross too, although there are only a handful of those, I personally wouldn't call them puppets, not sure if the game code does or not.
They can only get this medal once. Then there are 2 other medals that are harder because they have to be captured first and won back to get it. And a third medal if you capture a puppet soldier too.
Every single FOB Infiltrations (that is not a FOB Event) is another real player's base (their FOB base). Each player can get a maximum of 4 extra FOB's which they can customize via security settings and mine/camera placement, and even upgrades (uniforms/weapons for the guards). So players can attack each other's "fortress"

i know theres the cross medal for certain staff that has been rescued like the old mother base soldiers and the puppets but i dont know if that increases proficiency. i think if staff are injured in battle but survive get it too
There are actually 3 medals in the game. The other two, I think one of them is defending your mother base live (requires PlayStation Plus). The other one has something to do with surviving an invasion or something like that.

Medals are permanent for that character. It is possible to get multiple medals. Characters can't lose the medal unless you fire him and Fulton him again (in which case his stats are the base stats when you fultoned him).

@@alexisfab2057 The arrow is to let you know that the stats have increased from base level, so if you see the arrows that means you have successfully leveled that character. I am not sure if you can keep leveling up after already leveled. Let us know if you are able to do it again.

I think the main reason that happens is that Konami wants you to play FOB Missions, where you attack other platform from real players or attack the Event FOB platforms for their prizes and S+, S++ soldiers.

You can’t, unless they had really low stats to start with (D in combat and nothing above B) it might not drop below 1.90 times multiplier

How did you get 300 people in your staff for Combat Unit. Mine only goes up to 190 and I have all 4/4 bases filled in all my platforms
Connecting online allows you to build additional bases.
So you can technically get everyone up to S+ by grinding this or does everyone have a max?
Each character had their own max, as they can only get one of these medals each.

Medals are permanent for that character. It is possible to get multiple medals. Characters can't lose the medal unless you fire him and Fulton him again (in which case his stats are the base stats when you fultoned him).

@@alexisfab2057 The arrow is to let you know that the stats have increased from base level, so if you see the arrows that means you have successfully leveled that character. I am not sure if you can keep leveling up after already leveled. Let us know if you are able to do it again.

+Alysa Fajard just do normal missions, for example do the c2w mission. Just use heli and call it on the target location, destroy the three antenna's

I think the main reason that happens is that Konami wants you to play FOB Missions, where you attack other platform from real players or attack the Event FOB platforms for their prizes and S+, S++ soldiers.

play heros way, go to location where D-Dog spawns as puppy, snipe target, (he meets with 3 soldiers in the middle of outpost next to the power supply) and then leave hot zone and replay, you do not need a helicopter when leaving hot zone, u can complete mission then return to ACC after checkpoint.

You can only get Proficiency Medal once. Once you get it, you can level up anymore

So, thats a FOB, you get it when you start Mission 21, Where you have to invade the Nova Braga Airport, (Great Mission!) you get a message someone is attacking you, when you lose you have to wait till you finished mission 21. then you can do it over and over again, once you won you can attack other FOBs and build your own with these MB coins.
