- Paz Room in Medical Platform has many secrets inside. Video shows these secrets in the game Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. In order to trigger the Paz room to be unlocked, you must first extract a Wandering Mother Base Soldier (Side Op 51), and you will be shown two techniques (playing Love Deterrence song and hiding in Cardboard Box). After the room is unlocked, you can see the cutscene that reveals what happened in the helicopter with Paz, Chico, Venom Snake (Medic), and Naked Snake in the same copter cabin. Finally, the trick that shows you that the Paz room is fake is revealed using supply drops and weapon drops. You also get to see secret tricks you can do with a supply drop box while inside Paz's room.

A secret about Paz room is mentioned by the soldiers on the base. When 2 patrols meet each other, they have facts' discussion. Enemies usually speak about how someone like Big Boss came back around and so on.
On the base, once you have unlocked the door to Paz's room and haven't finished the series of mission, sometime, a soldier will ask the other one on the first medical platform. It's something alike to "Why does the Boss move to the platform facing south and stay there while speaking to himself?" The other answer "Don't think about it. It's one of his thing."

+cloud12348 She CAUSED the crash, Venom Snake, the medic, had repressed guilt over his inability to save Paz, since he only spotted one bomb, however, she awakened and leaped out of the helicopter in an attempt to save those in the chopper before her bomb exploded in mid-air, killing her instantly and wounding Kaz even further, and sending both the medic (Venom Snake), and Big Boss into a coma.

The interior cell for that room exists but the codes are unintentionally messed up with the exterior cell - the supply drops are despawned when they hit the hitbox where the room is and appear inside, so the counter would keep spawning them until the player refreshes.

You can tell which of the people commenting haven't actually closed out this plotline. I recall the game made it fairly clear Venom Snake hallucinated the whole thing. Ocelot's hallucinated explanation of Paz's disorder applies to Venom Snake himself.

UniteAnonymous venom snake is actually the doctor on the chopper who made surgery, he failed to notice the second explosive inside paz's womb and she died. Venom snake hallucinates every paz scene we see on the game in order to be able to cope with himself and his failure.

@@Equasi Venom is the doctor. Venom Snake is what people use to refer to the doctor when he becomes "Big Boss". Venom Snake is not the same person as Naked Snake. Also he is in Africa not America :p He is building Outer Heaven.
Holy shit, I just realised that for the first Paz scene, that the entire hallucination was Venom's brain subconsciously telling him that he's hurt and he isn't Snake.
The whole spiel of the Dissociative Amnesia and Dissociative Personality Disorder of "Denying what has happened beyond a certain point" and "thinking she's someone else" is actually directed to the player about Venom and who he actually is. Gotta love Kojima.
Valor Vanguard yeah it does but in all honesty though it was easy to know your not the real big boss from the get go because in the hospital the doctor said they couldnt remove the material that was in your head but at the end of metal gear solid 4 big boss showed up with nothing in his head
Venom Snake was killed in 1995 at the hands of Solid Snake after he destroyed the TX-55 Metal Gear. The body was obliterated in the destruction of Outer Heaven. The Real Big Boss was recovered after the fall of Zanzibarland along with Gray Fox, Snake lost all his weapons when he destroyed Metal Gear D, all he had to fight his Father was an Aerosol Spray Can and a Lighter. After Olga’s Daughter Sunny was save by the PLA (Paradise Lost Army). And they recovered Big Boss’ body in order to bring him back they donors that were his 2 dead son Liquid and Solidus. Then Solid Snakes Mutated strain of the FOX-DIE virus that killed him on top of the Tomb Stone of his Mentor The Boss. I’d do anything to fight Snakes Accelerated aging, Nano-Machines, Skull Parasites, Cyborg Body or a 3 way combination. He’s my Gaming Idol I was 4 years old when the first MGS was released on PlayStation I want Metal Gear Solid Saga to continue only Raiden’s Story 4 Years after the Fall of the SOP system. I want the Truth about SOP, The Boss’ innocence of her self-sacrifice to be proven to the whole World even if it means restarting “Les Enfant Terrible” all over again with the DNA of Everyone who supported and fought against Big Boss, Venom, Solid Snake and Raiden to create clones. I know that Venom Snake isn't Snake Snake. But how did he aquire the amazing skills that he has?
That's really awesome that even if you pay attention to the architecture of the base you can figure out the Paz room isn't even real. Yet I never picked up on that my whole playthrough. It's just a door leading outside and he's imagining a room there on that balcony. Freaking hidden in plain sight.
I like how the game tries to trick you by showing you another helicopter firing a missile to make you think Paz *is* alive. Clever, Hideo, very clever........

When I first played this game, as soon as you're told, "You're going to need a translator to understand the Russian soliders," I thought to myself...
"But Big Boss speaks Russian fluently... This man isn't Big Boss then ; A;"
But the problem is that he got transplanted with Naked Snake's memories... How do you explain that?

He wasn't "transplanted" to have Naked Snake's memories; he was basically set to listen to mission debriefings of Big Boss' missions over the years until he subconsciously memorized them while in his coma.

If you finished the Paz side story, you get the 5th dairy where "Paz" reveals that she is only what "Big Boss" thinks she is, and that she is not real.
Another hint that Paz isn't real? She mentioned Peace Day, which never happened in Peace Walker.

That's the point. Paz is a hallucination created by Venom's guilt as well as him trying to remember exactly who he is.

I love the irony in the cutscene where Ocelot says “We removed them” when in fact it was venom snake before the Helicrash as the on board medic
Also Venom’s shadow is impossible. The only light source is clearly from the window behind Paz’s bed, but the shadow is being cast from the corner near the sink, where there is no light source. The shadow is also projected in a way where it’s looming very conspicuously over Paz. Venom is of course a shadow himself.

snacklepuss Yep I saw that as well. I assume the game play might be legit since they are pretty much ripping off msg:pp in that aspect but all the rest is probably the most disgusting and stereotypical franchise rape that one could imagine.
The game was so amazing as it was too. They pretty much made Kojima wrap it up and push it out. God it's such a shame we won't get another Kojima backed MGSV. He's the one that pushed so many features and so much detail into the games. But I genuinely hope Konami does good things with the series.

Oh my God!!! From the entire time I played the game, I always was asking myself why that door leads nowhere. From the inside of Paz room there's no door in that direction and on the outside you can see the symbol of peace painted on the door. I just never put it together. Damn! Kojima does it again.

Realizing death of Paz is actually closely linked to Venom Snake's identity crisis, so it is actually himself trying not remembering (or being brain washed) the fact, to keep his identity as snake valid.

I never once thought that the room was fake since launch day. This totally blew my mind.
You can't normally select weapons or items but if you go in to first person mode with the INT scope, you can select your NVG and they will remain on when you leave first person mode.

I discovered Paz room didn't exist by pure chance, throwing many decoys at Paz's door. Then when I left by chopper in that same platform and I saw with great surprise that the arm of the decoy could be seen through the door outside.

If you look at the wall from outside, you can see a Peace sign with "Peace" written next to it above the door. You can also see it in the "room"
Anyone consider that Ocelot and Miller may have set this up in order to force BB to face his own mental problems, half of what they say to him in the cutscene is pretty accurate as to his own situation, another form of controlling him or reigning in his guilt perhaps
That room is a whole hallucination though. His brain is telling him "Dude... It's not real, you didn't save her... Come on..." and so it goes with what Ocelot said. Pretty ironic.

Every single song does something unique I think. Most are still hidden. If you notice, some songs have names in title telling you what they activate... Horse, Noon, etc

Game came out in 2015 lol. This isn't one of those "back then" or "games use to actually have content and give us a lot instead of dlc bullshit". Microtransactions and no creativity was already going on. It wasn't even new. This wasn't filled with it because it was a huge AAA franshise, and that stuff didn't fit in it. If you really think this was one of the last games to do something like this you must be young, naive or delusional.
All the classic games had this stuff. Mario, Zelda, Resident Evil, MGS, Final Fantasy. The games that are still loved had that extra care added.
I think Kojima left because of microtransactions and dlc disagreements.

Ground Zereoes ending was a great hit for me (Paz is one of my fav. MGS characters before solid snake era, with Ocelot and Big Boss too), and when I found out that it was just an illusion was and harder pain. 😅😢
As if the story in mgsV wasn't thin enough, they even hid parts of the litte that is there.

callmewisdom I see you haven't actually looked into the story at all. Mgsv is full of story if you know it's between mgs1 and peacewalker, it also cuts a lot of loose ends and if you include mission 51 and all the tapes it's full of story. Even so there isn't much left to tell seeing how MGSV is pretty much the last game story wise. Everything is pretty much set in place unless they make more games about raiden.
