I know it’s kinda hard for foreigners to grasp, but the left right spectrum doesn’t really exist in Bangladesh. The dynamic between AL and BNP is a pure power struggle. Both hold contempt for democracy, both don’t care about the people, and both have tolerated systematic corruption.
Come on man, BNP tries to include both left and right. However current regime doesn’t care about the basic rights called vote.

It’s the same situation in Pakistan..a country with such potential but it’s being ruined with disastrous economic policies by corrupt politicians as well as the brainwashing of the population by religious fundamentalists.

Caretaker government played a significant role in promoting fair and transparent elections in Bangladesh. Its establishment marked a departure from the traditional system of direct rule by an incumbent government, introducing an impartial body dedicated to upholding the integrity of the electoral process. As a Bangladeshi citizen, it's concerning to see western countries showing such interest in the elections of a far-off south Asian nation like Bangladesh. Typically when the USA gets involved in another country's affairs, there's usually a clear motive behind it. From what I've heard, there are claims that the BNP has struck deals with the US government, allowing the setup of US military bases on the Saint Martin islands. There's also talk of the BNP actively plotting to overthrow the current government. Throughout history, the USA has been known to orchestrate regime changes, replacing governments that didn't align with their preferences.

You'd see current party loyalist being put in all places of power in electoral commission (whose loyalty lies not with the people but the party itself) - just as we have now - a loyalist toothless sham electoral comission - so even though we have actual witness proof and even video evidences of electoral rigging - those same culprit candidates still gets elected nonetheless without any consequence, not even a single penalty or requiring any sort of voting recast or reelection.
At least the caretaker government offer more neutrality on the matter.
we had one
As a Bangladeshi, I am very concerned due to the US poking their nose this time. On the one hand, I have seen the corruption in the AL government and how they abuse power and would be glad to have them replaced by someone better. At the same time, the AL did manage to get some good things done like projects such as the Padma Bridge, Dhaka Mass Transit Metro rail, Chittagong double line, Karnaphuli tunnel and other projects as well as modernization of the Army and Navy (Air Force is still neglected) and I am not confident that the BNP would be competent enough to keep things going forward as they have often undid many positive developments of their opposition purely out of spite like the Mig-29 case where they stopped the purchase of advanced fighter jets decades ago when the BAF needed them. Plus, if BNP comes into power with US help, we might see them employ the infamous capitalist shock doctrine to cut down public welfare and allocate taxes to helping big private industries and elites, like how the US did in Iraq after its occupation or in Russia after the Soviet Collapse which led to the rise of the corrupt Russian oligarchy.
Ironically prices of food and other commodities have fallen a lil bit just before election when it was high for the entirety of 2023
Love from Pyongyang north Korea 🇰🇵
You guys I have to seriously thank you here. People don’t even know where my homeland is located and you bringing to everyone’s attention.
PS, I don’t know if you mentioned this but it’s very important. Awami League is a more secularist alliance while BNP has always relied on the Islamist parties mainly the JIB (Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh) party to rally the grassroots campaigns. Also Tareq Zia was terribly tortured during jail time under the caretaker government so he’s almost physically incapable of energizing the campaigns. Also, the law to scrap the caretaker government actually had the blessing of the BNP alliance since both Awami and BNP leaders were jailed/detained.
It's Awami league not awake league
Bangladesh isnt as invisible as you might think
As American president I want to confirm that in next year definitely BNP will come to the power after a free and fear election that will be organized by a caretaker government. Plese believe me🥰🥰🥰🎉🎉🎉
@@wazukyan7696🤓
I am intrigued , if BNP came to power , would there be future friction between India and Bangladesh? From what i remember , JIB is not a fan of India. I assume its kind of like the RSS-BJP relation in India?
For all those who said if only women ruled the world. At the end of the day we are all human subject to our own greed, flaws and hopefully most if the time great qualities.
You got me scared for a sec. No, that’s normal during South Asian elections.
Excellent
We Want Democracy & HumanRights,
We want participation, free & fair Election
If you can do that internally, then you are welcomed to do so.
But if you seek foreign intervention, then leave the country, otherwise some patriotic people would make your life a living hell
Already India made this country hell.
Then vote Awami League
Correct the map of India, why Kashmir is not shown a part?
it's already correct. because Kashmir is not, nor is Arunachal Pradesh.

Few facts conveniently ignored here. Khalida Zia was the wife of a military dictator who is called Zia of the east drawing parallel to Zia ul haq of Pakistan. He allowed fundamental and radical islam to flourish in a Bengali society. Today if Zia's BNP comes to power you'll see a rise in Radical Islamism in Bangladesh and they will be no different than Hasina in terms of freedom pf speech or crackdown on political opponents.
Thats why sometimes you'll have to choose lesser evil for greater good.
It's sickening to see fking Indians lecture us about our country. Zia was a patrioti who protected the country from foreign leftists and hindutva anti nationals.
Lesser of two evils is BNP because the other is ruining our economy while appeasing anti national deshdrohi community
Exactly. Not to mention that Zia supported the murderers of Sheikh Mujib. They even called Khondokar Mosthaque a hero, while he orchestrated the murders of the 4 great leaders in their jails.
@@plasticide4095 you forget to mention what happened from 1972 to 1975. You forget to mention Rakhi Bahini, Bakshal and the femine of 1970s.

Thanks for discussing about the dangerous political situation of Bangladesh. The politicians here are very corrupted and only cares about themselves. And things are getting worser day by day!
amazing how both Pakistan and Bangladesh ranked higher than India in democracy index lmao
because India is also facing towards one party autocratic rule especially after 2024 election
Nobody would consider Pakistan more democratic than the other two.
Self determination does not guarantee political stability or economic viability.
I don't understand. What do you mean?

Indian government should complete the smart fence on Bangladesh border in order to stop illegal immigrants
But if sheikh hasina's regime falls block and divert water from Brahmaputra and Ganga
💯
something like this has always happened before an election in Bangladesh so it's nothing new and I think the international media is making too big of a deal out of it
It's because the US is trying to interfere in Bangladesh elections now which was not the case earlier.
Yeah I'm Indian and this video is just clickbait. Bangladesh isn't heading for collapse in any way, shape or form. They're having some pre-election violence yes, but the country isn't anywhere close to falling apart.
That’s not exactly good thing if you can’t have free and fair elections without violence
@@ArawnOfAnnwnwe Bangladeshi people know what happened in our country Sheikh Hasina is dictator

I like the idea of a catetaker government conducting election. More countries from global south should adopt this.
The problem is that that caretaker becomes a dictatorship sometimes
Good to see our political crisis in your explanation video. Hopefully International community will take this matter to consider for solving this problem.

you know nothing.. u're an Indian.. look at ur own as"s where to poo*p.. don't think about us..😅
As an Indian my suggestion would be to vote for a 3rd party and let them come to power. Even if they are not the best. At least this will break the sequence of 2 party system and nepotism in leaders. This will set an example for the future leaders to behave or be gone.
Politicians need to fear the population not the other way around!
I really really wish we had that option here.
You guys notice how we manipulated the map
That isn’t likely to happen in a nation that’s creeping closer to islamism and authoritarianism

I find it surprising and interesting that I had no idea Bangladesh has been exclusively ruled by two women since 1991, that seems insane to have achieved especially in a Muslim country
It's called dynastic politics and a concentration of comparatively left-leaning secularist liberals at the top echelon of politics and intelligensia.
@@flamingflamingo4021left leaning is better. Give your nation to mullas and Bangladesh will be on streets just like Pakistan
I don't understand why do you guys look at majority Muslim countries through the lens of judging them due to their faith? What do you think of us? Cave men? Get out of the media and look at the world as it is
You’ve been indoctrinated into believing Muslim women are chattel who are property of their husbands. Reality is for much of history Muslim societies treated women better than gave them more positions of authority than in Christian societies.
I think you equate Muslim societies with misogyny, the truth is the entire west had been the same not even like 100 years ago.
I'm watching your content daily last 1 year but now surprise it's my country story .
I'm also opposite this government. Shekh Hasina want there is a dictator state and she believed this horrific crime.
Unfortunately Sheikh Hasina has become a ruthless dictator. She literally diminished the freedom of speech. She executed many artists, poets, activists, and many other intellectuals just because of criticizing the actions of Sheikh family and their close allies. Her government shut down many media and restricted existing media's independence. These media mostly tell the stories of the success of the government.
Most importantly people of Bangladesh are not allowed to criticize this government. And that is how she organizes fake elections and won every time without any competition.
Please add audio track on your video.
rooting for BNP is not a good idea for the future of Bangladesh, because it's party that works with the Islamist groups who wants to run Bangladesh like a middle age Arab country
that is an insult to middle age islamic empires
