Toyota Auris Touring Sports in-depth review - Carbuyer

  • The Toyota Auris Touring Sports is Toyota's name for the Auris estate. It's a mid-sized family estate car that rivals the Ford Focus estate and Vauxhall Astra estate. It's a spacious, practical and reliable car that is easy to live with. However, those looking to be entertained behind the wheel, or searching for a more stylish estate might want to look elsewhere.

    I really like the Auris touring sport. It's a nice car. It looks pretty decent on the outside design and I don't understand why everybody hates the interior so much, it looks better than Golf and some other cars. Plus Toyota makes much safer and more reliable cars.

    About the interior, an important advice. Toyota make durable cars, the interiors are made to last, not 5, not 10, not 20 years, but probably a driver's life.
    Toyota vehicles are people carriers, to go from point A to B.
    And to work flawless during a lot of time. Own one for more than a few days and you will probably agree that asthenic aren't always important, and that we have a life outside cars... Those japanese people.. 🙂

      @@sabni8668 I think it is better now, the Golf VII is indeed really bad. The only reason why Golf is still the best-selling car is because of journalist and their idiotic comments that are not relevant for long-term ownership. I meant European Journalist. In USA and Canada, Civic and Corolla sold way more than any other brands, because people are more reasonable and Americans keep their cars longer and drive farther. BAd cars will not survive there. The journalist comments from KBB, Edmunds, etc. are smarter and give the main points of car overall quality. Not just new cars review.

    Taxi I called last week was a hybrid version of one of these. From the perspective of the rear seats, I can’t say I rate the interior. The plastic on the doors is some of the thinnest I’ve ever seen, and the seats felt very flat and were covered in an almost velour-like fabric that I doubt is very durable. On the plus side, it went like stink and was a quite refined. Plus the guy driving it couldn’t have been more than about 22 and was independent, so I’d guess the finance deals are pretty good. Not a bad car at all, just not very inspiring!

      Because European cars are better. Before you come back with some nonsense, research why Suzuki and Toyota are now in partnership for R&D. Toyota have admitted they lag behind the Euro cars in terms of innovation and general performance. Japanese cars aren't that good value, the Yenn to GBP isn't favourable, they are cheaply built, use very dated engines (honda are still using a 12 year old 1.4 design in their civic) and simply aren't as refined as the like of Volkswagens or Fords.

    • @cionheart
      @cionheart 7 лет назад +3

      This years model is simply full of bad taste and design decisions. The last Corolla before they renamed it to Auris in some regions had a more stylish and streamlined interior than this version. It's not because they are from Japan, for example the current Mazda 3 is light-years ahead in look and feel.

    • @Awayze
      @Awayze 7 лет назад +6

      A 12 year old Civic will still be going for another decade, still see lots of 2003-2006 Civics and Corollas on the road. Cant say the same for Focus, Golf, Astra, they'll also need more repairs. A 2007 Honda Accord CDTI is still more refined than current tractor sounding EU diesel engines.
