I like your enthusiasm! The band have now released a further two singles from the forthcoming new album and they are both excellent. I am impressed that they have, as you say, captured the essence of their mid-Seventies sound while adding something fresh to the mix. I have pre-ordered the album which comes with a DVD about the band's touring. I first got into DP in 1974 and they were the first band I saw live.

Hey nice review :) Deep Purple are just rediscovering Deep Purple, having lost all their heaviness and rock fun through all these years by dealing with Steve Morse. Simon McBride, along with Don Airey, is what they needed to bring back their trademark of fast heavy / rock songs. Deep Purple were once pioneers of heavy metal and I am glad we get this album, their best at least 30+ years now since "The Battle Rages On" and perhaps even more. Simon blends Ritchie again in the band in a remarkable way. Simon & Don are working so well in the new album, its not less than a revival of classic DP sound.
DO THEIR NEW ONE! It's called 'Lazy Sod'. I think it's even better!

I really loved your reaction to this song. But they already released the next single from the new album called "Pictures of You". Totally different to this one but as good. According to some music magazines that are going to review it next month, the whole album is very rocking. I'm so much looking forward to it.

Looks like they have a new single/music video out. Haven't listened to it yet, but looking forward to it. Their sound has evolved quite a bit over the years, but I still dig them.
If you want some other great songs from them from the classic years, you should try "Soldier of fortune" or "Perfect strangers."
