Everything these ladies do is excellent. They do power,thrash metal; rock ballads and even progressive metal. The dark haired guitarist is also a classically trained pianist, and they incorporate that in some of their songs. They also will use synth and other instruments in backing tracks. You are in for a treat.
There are a lot of really good Japanese metal bands right now and they all have their own unique spin on metal. Lovebites is pretty much the only one who sings entirely in English. There is some variety in their style from song to song but everything they do is fantastic. No stinkers or filler in their entire catalog. 🐺

Thanks Jordan, I was one of those who asked you to give them a try. They actually toured the UK in 2019 with Dragonforce, I was with some other old metalhead friends at the gig and having never heard of them we too thought it quite novel when they stepped on stage dressed as they are, but they just blew us away, everyone there was astounded at the insane quality this band possess. All their songs have a positive, uplifting vibe, they are redefining heavy metal, you should try their power ballads too, they are amazing🤘 EDIT: incidentally their sound engineers are the same guys that Nightwish have, sorry, forgot to mention that.

So you’ve been lovebitten, too. Welcomed to the mind-blowing world of Lovebites. These Japanese women are so talented, skillful and excellent musicians. They really shine in their live performances. They have influences from Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Helloween, Slayer, Metallica, Whitesnake, Gary Moore, Dragonforce, etc., but they are developing their own style. They play (mostly) power metal but they are so versatile. I agree, they’re breaking the walls of stereotypes. Lovebites are definitely the real deal. I would put them up against any male metal band and I think they would probably slay the opposition with their musical ability, songwriting skills and live performance. They make it seem so effortless at the same time as looking like supermodels on the catwalk and perform a full 90 minute plus gig, playing their instruments, moving around the stage, headbanging and changing the pedals on their effects boards wearing four inch high heels and do not even break sweat, even the drummer, says it all.
Japan's been producing great all-female hard rock and heavy metal bands for over 40 years at a much greater rate than most countries. Lovebites are one of the latest ones, and also the best one, and in fact the best band in the world right now, at least that's my opinion. Four of the five band members were in all-female metal bands before forming Lovebites, most notably Miho (bass, band leader) and Haruna (drums) who were in Destrose, a band notable for being one of the first of the current "boom" of all-female heavy metal bands (formed in 2007 but technically 2005 under the name "Destroyah"), and for being a sort of breeding ground for many of the best musicians and bands around at the moment. Lovebites' influences are primarily classic 80s New Wave of British Heavy Metal, 80s Thrash, and 80s European Power Metal (think Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Slayer, Anthrax, Helloween, Blind Guardian, etc). They mix and match all three as well and others as well as classical elements to create a sound that's familiar but still fresh. Any resemblance to Dragonforce is purely coincidental, although the two bands have played together.

There are two female Japanese bands who are for me the two best female bands on earth. Lovebites is one of them with their great powermetal. The other one is Band-Maid, they are playing more Hard-Rock and you should try them to.
Since I possess every album and EP they've produced (Three albums, two live albums and three EPs in just four years) yes I have heard a few of their songs now! This is one of the most exciting new metal bands on the planet right now. I envy you that you have only just discovered them for you have so many riches to come.

FYI - They sing ALL of their songs in English but sometimes it helps to have the lyrics handy or close-captioned turned on because it can take a bit to get used to Asami's pronunciation. Almost all their songs contain a super positive message.
yeah man, Lovebites is amazing and they play straight thrash metal and power metal like Europe/western without cute or pop elements. Btw they played at Download , Wacken, Bloodstock and Graspop metal back in 2018 and 2019. The albums was mixed by Mikko Karmila and mastered by Mika Jussila, who have worked with acts like Nightwish, Children of Bodom, and Stratovarius. Great video reaction..
It's fitting that Mikko and Mika did the work on that; LoveBites is signed to Nuclear Blast Records, which is the same label that Nightwish, Children of Bodom, Stratovarius, Jinjer, and Sabaton are all on. In fact, LoveBites is the only Japanese band signed to a western world label.

While some Japanese metal bands put their own spin on metal like Babymetal created Kawaii Metal or Unlucky Morpheus combined their Fiction/ Fantasy theme to most of their songs. Lovebites actually stay true to the original metal roots. Bringing back the classic Power/Thrash Metal to life for modern generations. How can you not respect these ladies? Life-long all-female Japanese metal/rock band aficionado here. you have just scratched the surface of Lovebites, such a full concert lasts 140 minutes, the level you are listening to is not undercut but rather topped, in Japan there is a slightly different level, almost everyone in the music scene is rather highly educated and very ambitious. Lovebites in particular can mop the floor with almost any other band. I don't make a difference, whether it's a mixed band or just guys, Miyako the cool guitarist is a fully trained concert pianist, she sometimes seems a bit hypothermic, but is more related to her classical training, next to the stage she is very funny

You wanted more history: Here goes... Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They have themselves said in interviews that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief metalhead and soul of the band) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" pocket nuke), and they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. Miho and Miyako compose most of their music, but Midori has also been getting into the act, and Asami writes a lot of the lyrics. They have only been around for a little over 4 years. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and it seems clear they’re taking it to another level. This is one of their "starter" songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to white-hot insane thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two shredders are very different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The interplay makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. (As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.") Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist-she only picked up guitar when she was 18. Most suggestions will be for live clips, for good reason, but their MVs are all great too. FUN fact: princess Midori uses a Kemper, which is an amp modeler. It emulates other amps. Funny thing is, she used her Kemper to emulate princess Miyako's Peavey 6505+ amp! But since a "modeler" won't sound exactly like the real thing... their guitar tones are different. And I am sure they use different pedals and pickups in their guitars. Plus... some "tone" is in the fingers, so their unique playing styles will make them sound a little different too. As we have all said many times... they compliment each other perfectly. Midori and Miyako are the new twin-guitar attack in the metal world now.
@@TheCyberMantis didn't know that about the Kemper, thanks for the info. For sure, tone also owes a lot to the finger technique. Midori is unbelievably clean even at high speed. Miyako seems to love effects and bends--people compare her to Gary Moore but another influence must be Roy Buchanan. He made the guitar cry like a baby.

It's nice when they get endorsement deals, so they can get pro gear for free. Lovebites has endorsements, which is great. They all deserve it.

Everything these ladies do is excellent. They do power,thrash metal; rock ballads and even progressive metal. The dark haired guitarist is also a classically trained pianist, and they incorporate that in some of their songs. They also will use synth and other instruments in backing tracks. You are in for a treat.
There are a lot of really good Japanese metal bands right now and they all have their own unique spin on metal. Lovebites is pretty much the only one who sings entirely in English. There is some variety in their style from song to song but everything they do is fantastic. No stinkers or filler in their entire catalog. 🐺
Undead Corporation is another Japanese band that sings in English, but they have 2 vocalist and are somewhat a visual kei band 🤘😊🤘

Thanks Jordan, I was one of those who asked you to give them a try. They actually toured the UK in 2019 with Dragonforce, I was with some other old metalhead friends at the gig and having never heard of them we too thought it quite novel when they stepped on stage dressed as they are, but they just blew us away, everyone there was astounded at the insane quality this band possess. All their songs have a positive, uplifting vibe, they are redefining heavy metal, you should try their power ballads too, they are amazing🤘 EDIT: incidentally their sound engineers are the same guys that Nightwish have, sorry, forgot to mention that.

Yeah this is ok but you should see them live, to be there, i know by my self, I sow them twice in Wacken Germany 2018th and in UK 2019th( they touring together with Dragon force in UK that time).Now the band is formed 2016 th in Tokyo from ex Destrose band members Miho the bassist and composer ( she is the band leader) and Haruna the drummer ( best female power metal drummer in the world at the moment ) the other members are Asami the vocalist composer and songwriter ( she was R&b and jazz-soul singer before to join the band) Midori the lead guitarist,composer and backing vocals with the blonde hair( one of the fastest female guitarists in the world at the moment) and Miyako the other lead guitarist, pianist and composer with the black hair ( she is the main composer of the band). Lovebites are the winners of Metal Hammer Golden gods awards for 2018 year in category best new metal band. Their last album Electric pentagram was nominated for one of the best 20 metal albums for 2020 year. The band is influenced by 80s metal. Lovebites are definitely the real deal. I would put them up against any male metal band and I think they would probably slay the opposition with their musical ability, songwriting skills and live performance. They make it seem so effortless at the same time as looking like supermodels on the catwalk and perform a full 90 minute plus gig, playing their instruments, moving around the stage, headbanging and changing the pedals on their effects boards wearing four inch high heels and do not even break sweat, even the drummer, says it all.
One of my favorite bands right now, SO talented. I just bought the BluRay for this concert. You're in for quite a treat!

Japan's been producing great all-female hard rock and heavy metal bands for over 40 years at a much greater rate than most countries. Lovebites are one of the latest ones, and also the best one, and in fact the best band in the world right now, at least that's my opinion. Four of the five band members were in all-female metal bands before forming Lovebites, most notably Miho (bass, band leader) and Haruna (drums) who were in Destrose, a band notable for being one of the first of the current "boom" of all-female heavy metal bands (formed in 2007 but technically 2005 under the name "Destroyah"), and for being a sort of breeding ground for many of the best musicians and bands around at the moment. Lovebites' influences are primarily classic 80s New Wave of British Heavy Metal, 80s Thrash, and 80s European Power Metal (think Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Slayer, Anthrax, Helloween, Blind Guardian, etc). They mix and match all three as well and others as well as classical elements to create a sound that's familiar but still fresh. Any resemblance to Dragonforce is purely coincidental, although the two bands have played together.
That’s known as “being bitten”. My jaw has been on the floor since late December. They became my favourite band after hearing one track. Instantaneous. FYI - They sing ALL of their songs in English but sometimes it helps to have the lyrics handy or close-captioned turned on because it can take a bit to get used to Asami's pronunciation. Almost all their songs contain a super positive message.
yeah man, Lovebites is amazing and they play straight thrash metal and power metal like Europe/western without cute or pop elements. Btw they played at Download , Wacken, Bloodstock and Graspop metal back in 2018 and 2019. The albums was mixed by Mikko Karmila and mastered by Mika Jussila, who have worked with acts like Nightwish, Children of Bodom, and Stratovarius.

It's fitting that Mikko and Mika did the work on that; LoveBites is signed to Nuclear Blast Records, which is the same label that Nightwish, Children of Bodom, Stratovarius, Jinjer, and Sabaton are all on. In fact, LoveBites is the only Japanese band signed to a western world label.

They toured the U K In 2019. And will be back when things get back to normal with another U K and European tour. They won the golden gods award for bedt new band in 2018 of 19 , and i believe those awards are held also in the U K.

While some Japanese metal bands put their own spin on metal like Babymetal created Kawaii Metal or Unlucky Morpheus combined their Fiction/ Fantasy theme to most of their songs. Lovebites actually stay true to the original metal roots. Bringing back the classic Power/Thrash Metal to life for modern generations. How can you not respect these ladies? They're the BEST of the BEST.
Life-long all-female Japanese metal/rock band aficionado here. Lovebites top my list but there are numerous all-girl rock/metal bands in Japan that have gained worldwide popularity. I was shocked like you the first time I heard them a couple of years ago. you have just scratched the surface of Lovebites, such a full concert lasts 140 minutes, the level you are listening to is not undercut but rather topped, in Japan there is a slightly different level, almost everyone in the music scene is rather highly educated and very ambitious. Lovebites in particular can mop the floor with almost any other band. I don't make a difference, whether it's a mixed band or just guys, Miyako the cool guitarist is a fully trained concert pianist, she sometimes seems a bit hypothermic, but is more related to her classical training, next to the stage she is very funny

Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They have themselves said in interviews that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity.
They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief metalhead and soul of the band) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" pocket nuke), and they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. Miho and Miyako compose most of their music, but Midori has also been getting into the act, and Asami writes a lot of the lyrics.
They have only been around for a little over 4 years. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and it seems clear they’re taking it to another level.
This is one of their "starter" songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to white-hot insane thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two shredders are very different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The interplay makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. (As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.") Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist-she only picked up guitar when she was 18.

FUN fact: princess Midori uses a Kemper, which is an amp modeler. It emulates other amps. Funny thing is, she used her Kemper to emulate princess Miyako's Peavey 6505+ amp! But since a "modeler" won't sound exactly like the real thing... their guitar tones are different. And I am sure they use different pedals and pickups in their guitars. Plus... some "tone" is in the fingers, so their unique playing styles will make them sound a little different too. As we have all said many times... they compliment each other perfectly. Midori and Miyako are the new twin-guitar attack in the metal world now.
@@TheCyberMantis didn't know that about the Kemper, thanks for the info. For sure, tone also owes a lot to the finger technique. Midori is unbelievably clean even at high speed. Miyako seems to love effects and bends--people compare her to Gary Moore but another influence must be Roy Buchanan. He made the guitar cry like a baby.

It's nice when they get endorsement deals, so they can get pro gear for free. Lovebites has endorsements, which is great. They all deserve it.

Who makes metal.....LMAO. My friend J/Metal and all female bands from Japan have been kicking a$$ for many a year. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack and the Metal Goddesses who are all petite models until they strap on high heels (which they play in for the entire concert) and white dresses so they can be seen on stage. Founded by Miho/bass to bring more European sounds to J/Metal her and Haruna/drums came from the great all female Destrose band that has spawned many great female bands (Mary's Blood, Lovebites, Fate Gear, Aldious, Nemophila, etc...) and the dynamic duo of Midori/ESP and Miyako/Dean are a guitar clinic in every song. The 5' vocalist Asami (an ex-ballerina student) comes from a R & B/Jazz/Soul background and never sang a metal song till she joined this band. This band is FLAWLESS PERFECTION in everything they do, so pick what you want LIVE, Studio, Music Video or even Anime Theme and they will blow you away. They are all insanely talented and some complain that it should illegal for this much talent to be in one band. A few suggestions for future minding numbing:

They play Power, Speed, Thrash, Rock, Ballads and even classical piano as their weapons of choice and there isn't a poor song done by them, they can't be anything but awesome!!!!
Just think a little like a medium japanese girl. You have in your hands a Gibson Les Pauls, a PRS custom guitar, a custom Dean who cost more than half million yen and... you´re gonna dress like you found your clotches in a second hand shop?... no way in hell.
Japan have a lot of all-female groups in metal and rock from years ago, the "gorgeous dress" it´s not a new thing. See some songs from Aldious, another all-female band with a more than a decade on stages. They dress like princess in different colors. They can do heavy metal but they are also girls and love this.
