Been a fan of Al DiMeola since 1974 when i was in high school. This era is what personifies him.He is a maestro of the guitar. I thought Jimmy Page was great also. But Al DiMeola is on another plane!
I was at this concert which also had UK as the warm-up while Alan Holsworth and Bill Bradford was still with them. They did a double billing each of them so basically so l got to sit through four shows in one night with balcony seats for the first and 8th row for the 2nd. During the first show Return to Forever set in with Al for his encore but they didn’t do it for the late one.
All I can say is he's a living legend and one the the greatest guitar players I've ever heard and seen you wanna see the master go see Al and you'll understand what I'm saying
Hardly. He's revered by legions of music lovers and musicians. One thing is, aside from Beatles, he doesn't play standards or classic-style jazz guitar. I'm sure he could kill a Joe Pass solo as well as Joe himself. Just not his thing....
Im sure he does, still touring most of the year and making records. Live guitar trio album sold 7 millions? 7 time guitar player magazine best guitarist. Steve Vai, Wylde, Petrucci etc. are fans.
@@aleksik4028 I've seen him 4 times in the last 7 years. The shows had a lot of empty seats. Al himself said the music business is tough and advises people to do something else.
al burning and shredding on this gig sounds good always liked his acoustic playing maybe more than electric he's still one of best guitar players. AROUND 👏👏👏

A lot going on in his music not just guitar the whole band was just insane...never forget Central Park concert.
