What? It only takes a few minutes to get to Blackpool? Amazing! But we never saw Blackpool tower....and no passport check.....incredible
So the engine was powered by Diesel. Am I right?
the only thing that has changed in irish rail is a they're worse by the year
Angry Biker - get a grip. You were obviously never on an Irish train in the 50s or 60s.
Was there a refreshment area on the train?
I believe there was.
i dont know if the new galway to cork train route will happen
It's currently possible if you change at Limerick and Limerick Junction. It's sometimes cheaper than by bus.

was that the 5:45am departure?
Not that early nope. Was probably still dark at that time
Irish rail are pathetic, packing out trains at peak times and reducing carriages forcing people to stand or sit in the middle of aisles. Online booking system is ignored also and seats are not properly allocated.
When did you experience this?
What? It only takes a few minutes to get to Blackpool? Amazing! But we never saw Blackpool tower....and no passport check.....incredible
Blackpool is also a suburb in Cork, not to be confused with Blackpool, UK
