John Collins was a gent. Used to let me ride in the cab after school, up and down the Cobh road. Happy days. Although he did talk me out of becoming a driver 😊
My abiding memories of Kent Station are as a child, going to the gaa matches with me Dad on Sundays. Especially the hurling matches. He loved going to Fitzgerald stadium and Semple stadium in particular. Remember arriving back in Kent Station after a long day, and I'd be asking him if I could have the day off school the following day. Never ever got my wish though, God rest him !!!
i love the 1990s vibes. i was born in 1994 so grew up with all the lovely gm engines mk 2 and 3 and cravens were my favourites and the old wooden set by rpsi was great too.
That was the problem back then, the jobs where always handed down from father to son,so it was a closed shop for any one else, plus it was unionised so now chance for any out sider, thank god times have changed

Incredible these days to think the most exciting occasion the chap could think of was a bishop travelling on a train . How times have changed.
