yep that just happened to me right now (first time watching the vid) I tried to challenge myself to press space to pause the video as soon as i noticed the accident, but i was too focused on the dude on the right. i pressed pause right before he crossed the white car. it's easy to forget how fast things happen

Every millimeter, exposed surface etc was considered. It’s mostly to aid my weekly videos during the season. Lots of people are talented, brave, or dedicated to racing enough to actually go on track line this OC. So I’m Going to try to help ppl see the value in sim racing. It’s not a just a gimmick. So if a dummy like me can build from scratch solely with my hands something RUclips hasn’t seen, it’ll prove literally anyone can. Did I underestimate the intensity of the learning curve especially in software? It’s possible haha but now that I’ve spent 80% of the time failing in what doesn’t work, I’ve truly worked out what does and what is most effective to get people racing to help them fall deeper in love with racing. That’s the strategy atleast. I’ll have the largest manufacturers in sim racing as sponsors and collaborators. My only weak spot right now is pedals. This way I can do giveaways, contests, etc all directly funded and distributed by the actual manufacturer eg Next Level Racing. It’s all built just got a late sponsor who may be interested with Ascher Racing sniffing around. I’ll finish pitching them today. But I don’t see any reason I can’t start my “Sim Saturdays” Series before end of February . At that point things will kick off like normal but even faster with a few going out a month on top of weekly race stuff
I know this is old but I'm glad you got out okay. Hope dude in the white car was good too. I've had some close calls as well but that was max pucker factor. Doesn't look like the damage was too bad but I can't see what that hit in the back did. I know thats where the money is on those formulas. ✌️
Any damage in a formula is expensive, if I remember correctly I ended up with a snapped rear axel but the important part is both myself and the other driver were safe!
Fortunately, these cars have an extremely low center of gravity, making them hard to roll. This is because of how massive the driver's balls are, keeping the weight down low.
You did really well to avoid a much worse incident, also very good timing in letting go of the wheel because if you held on a second longer that could have been a broken finger or two lol.
ok obviously he shouldve let go of the wheel before impact but can we appreciate that reaction time. dude literally had less than 0.2 secs to react to that. insanely good quick thinking
you wouldnt let go off your wheel, would you?. he had less than 0.2 sec of reaction time and the white car took the half of the road when he crashed, (the front was to the direction he was turning to) so he would have to go on grass turn right to go back on the track, which then he would have to turn right as there was a turn, with wheel damage and front wing damage, and a nearly destroyed wheel. (as it could be used till the next pit stop, if i was in his pos.)
@@hippyish7379 He means the impact of the barrier. The steering wheel obviously jerked from one way to another thus creating a dangerous situation had your hands still holding it. Possibly breaking bones.

Whenever I try doing cars with lower cockpits in the sim, I immediately give up, since I can't see anything. This is incredible reaction time. I did not see the guy appear at all, had to replay the sequence maybe 3 times to see it a bit sooner until the car was right in front of you. Just incredible. Hope the damage won't cost you much...

I understand this hobby/sport is VERY expensive, but how hard is it to get into? I’ve always aspired racing and motorsport from being a young kid. Now finally I am growing up to be an adolescent. I know I will not be able to reach big leagues but of course I wish I can still have some fun. I also wonder the experience you have and how long you’ve been doing this already so I can have a general idea.
Formula Racing is relatively expensive but easy to get into! I would suggest looking around at your local tracks and facebook groups to find what classes and races they offer in your area! Formula Vees are well regulated meaning you wont be overspending because there are limitations to how much you are allowed to do! First see if you enjoy it and then look to making a career, It will take a lot of time and effort though so be prepared! All the best!

I think his hands just got jarred loose on impact, he should've let go much sooner. took me two broken thumbs to learn this lesson.

Damage on race cars is unfortunately always a lot but you’re so right! The angle of the camera is even more forgiving than being in the drivers seat!

First thing to worry about: getting the money for the sport. Then you worry about networking.
