I had this happen recently, I was indoor karting and I had started to lap people, after lapping 3 of the backmarkers, I came across a old dude in his late fiftys who did not want to let me pass even after seeing the blue and orange flag. He was being very agressive and was breaking way earlyer than i would have, causing me to bump him. After the race he started yelling and swearing at me for bumping into him and being a horibble driver. Ruined the rest of my races that day.
I mean, me and my brother race to literally just do this to each other. But to do this to a stranger is completely unacceptable. Unless its my brother. Then you have my permission.
@@chicken2287 Nah, I'm in the USA and our tracks are much larger. They are all outside too. I don't like the smooth floor tracks. Ours are like little cars outside on a real racing track. The cars also have much better bumpers on them. Its almost a dodgem. Very different from this.
Look, you can drive, and he can't. If the marshals aren't policing it for him, they won't police it for you -- there are walls. Use them. He'll learn eventually.

Literally went Karting the other day for the first time, and I had someone almost exactly like this. I don't think he was doing it intentionally, but he was drifting all over the place, and easily just going slower than me, but I couldn't pass him easily because he literally took up the entire track on every turn
@@silversonic99 there's a difference between defending your position and intentionally running into your opponent when you're clearly about to be overtaken... this have happened to me before but it wasn't indoors, I was literally ran in a gravel trap because of this, it's potentially very dangerous
For those wondering what he did wrong... 0:12 - failed to leave room (always leave room!) 0:20 - bumping 0:39 - deliberate dive bomb 0:59 - illegal blocking (you can't swerve to block) 2:34 - more bumping In an actual race he'd be assessed many penalties. That other guy was just as bad. The rules exist for safety and to preserve the equipment. And FYI, for any best-lap type session, you always let the faster kart by! It's courtesy, and some tracks will blue (or black!) flag you for blocking.
Well guess what bet its not an actual race, and its inside go karting its meant to be fun and run into people thats why they put the bumper on em, he had fun and this dude needs to get the stick out of his ass, not everyone is trying to pretend to be pro and take it serious they are having fun
I had one of these guys in my last walk in practice race to do some hot laps at my local track. HIs awareness was awful and he was so busy weaving and trying to get in my way that he didn't pay attention to the slow car in front of him and sent her airborne and she landed on TOP of the tire wall. Needless to say he got himself blacklisted from the track.
You dealt with this really well, patiently finding the most sensible lines for the given situation without escalating it. Even in the position of a viewer this was very frustrating to experience, cheers my dude!
The last pass and subsequent defence were things of beauty! Guys like this should be banned fron racing, even just from a business perspective. Some tracks I've been to would've physically hauled you out if you treated their karts like that.
Really though, I see no disadvantage to asserting yourself early on. The track clearly doesn't mind the other guy acting like this so the cammer knows he's unlikely to get in trouble unless he causes a spectacular smash. The other guy only learned that he can get away with and repeat this bad behaviour. If the cammer had retaliated early on, he would have had the whole session free of that karter until they lap said karter, and the other guy kight have even realised that actions have consequences. It might have also prompted the track to have words, annoying as it is that something is only sone once you fight back, which also is more likely to put an end to it. All the cammer really did was enable their behaviour, snd he only got ahead by partially stooping to their level anyway. Tbh he should have just gone ugly early for the best outcome for everyone.
When I see a helmet that turns left and right so much, I usually check to see if he has a full range of motion backwards too. Usually a well placed bumper tap directly in the rear bumper is a good way to check for this.
This guy😂😂😂😂 I like you bud, your cool lmao! There’s a pretty good fix for this.. someone that drives so defensively often leaves them self’s wide open, when you get your opening take it and reverse uno that shit and make him eat shit… or in most cases.. a POLE😂
When I was following someone in karting I'd keep moving out of sight every time they looked over their shoulder like that. I'd reckon about half the time they'd be that busy looking for me they'd over shoot the corner by at least a kart width which made overtaking much easier, especially when they were being a knob like this. If there was no one watching then I'd just send it down the inside, miss the apex intentionally turning into the corner with just enough room to avoid the wall knowing from their side they wouldn't have the turning circle to miss the wall and get stuck.
I haven't done much kart racing but it almost reminded me of wreckfest. I usually give back twice as hard as I receive it in that game. You kept your cool . Good job
it's times like these that I'm weirdly thankful for electric karts; the employees at my local track control the power of the engines and limit reckless drivers so they enjoy the remainder of their race going less than a mile an hour.
That’s who you don’t want to be in any kind of racing. Homeboy has no idea about driving lines. I’m not sure what track this was, but on all the tracks I’ve raced, he would be black flagged and pulled from the race.

Once had a guy like that, he rammed me on the quickest turn once, and somehow, on the slowest turn of the circuit he got bumped to max speed by an unknown individual, straight into one of the hardest barriers He came crying after saying how bad I was, even the marshals were with me 😂😂
I sent a guy doing this into a tire wall once. Looked back and all I could see was tires in the air and bouncing on the track the refs didn’t even get mad at me cause the guy had been doing for multiple races and been warned in between races at least once. He left after that race and the rest of us kept racing in peace after that for awhile longer. Racing is a supposed to be a clean sport if you wanna play bumper cars go to an amusement park and battle the 12 year olds.
I had a guy that was being a dick, so after a long straight into a somewhat tight turn I just failed to remember what brakes are and slammed him into the wall. Naturally he was complaining about a sore neck.
Had a guy doing this one time when I was with my buddies. We basically waited for a turn and two of my buddies gave him the pit maneuver right before, spun him around, and I went for the kill head-to-head collision 💥. BTW didn't even get kicked out, just a warning about safety. I just lied and said I couldn't stop in time, sike, bruh I went full speed into that bih.
I used to work at a karting track and its amazing how many grown adults have full on temper tantrums when someone else is faster than them. We once had a guy full on refused to come off the track when black flagged, because when someone overtook him he tried to spin them, and ended up crashing himself. Even after we got all the other karts off he tried to hit multiple marshals with the kart and only stopped when he crashed it into a fence. When he got off he screamed about wanting his money back. Security grabbed him and held him until the police got there. He was changed with deliberate destruction of property (he ruined his kart and another one by crashing into it), and given a hefty fine, all because his ego couldn't handle not being Michael Schumacher
Lmfao this is even funnier to me because growing up we had a "disciplinary advisor" in school named Michael Schumacher that always threw adult temper tantrums when he didnt get his way. Still does it to this day only now he is the principal of the school. He must've cried his way up.
The thing is, my go to rental Kart track was owned by Michael Schumacher and is called Michael Schumacher Kart Center. Everybody there thinks they are Michael Schumacher. I once had a guy almost punch me in the face after the race because I overtook him in the race (probably a bit of a hard overtake but when I am stuck behind someone and he doesn’t listen to blue flags then I go all out) and he said I wasn’t allowed to over take him bc I had to respect older people (I am 14 but pretty fast because I race on that track since I am 8y/o and he was about 25y/o probably being there for the first time judged by his speed)
Respect for controlling your temper, on some parts, I was like, "Just yeet him into that wall!" but you stayed like the good person you are and didn't.
First time I ever drove a go kart I rode just like that for a single lap and got kicked of the track so fast lol. I had no idea how messed up it was at the time I thought it was just a mix between bumper cars and Mario Kart lol
Kart newbie here, I usually just watch behind before every corner and see if someone fast comes. I go off the racing line. I usually have 2-3 laps of just taking it easy and getting out of the way. Eventually I find a pocket where I can have 1 or 2 fast laps, then I back off again. This is if I'm just in a normal session with other guys. If I go with some mates and they want to race, I let them be. I there to have fun, not play bumper-cars. But yeah, since I'm a beginner, I tend to look behind quite a lot, just so I don't mess anyone's lap.
@@stevenhudspith33 Agreed - be predictable, stay on the racing line wherever you can. The faster driver has the responsibility to make the clean pass - and they will!
The best thing you can do is to not look behind you. 99% of the time you can hear if someone is right behind you, but turning around massively slows you down. If you keep looking forward and stay on the racing line not only are you less in the way but you'll be much faster too.

That reminds me of a situation when I was 13 or 14 years old. At the kart track, you had to beat a time of under 50 seconds to be allowed to drive a race kart. I had stayed just over the time on a couple of visits each time, so I was eager to try again. The conditions seemed ideal. There was only one other driver there. He was sent out on the track ahead of me and after just two and a half laps I was stuck on his tail. He was going much slower than me, blocked me, pushed me into the wall, and after I did get past, he practiced a classic divebomb and pushed past me again. I stopped for 10 seconds and caught up with him in three laps. That was almost 15 years ago now and somewhere I still get annoyed about this unfairness. I just couldn't believe how you can drive like that. Sure, karting is competitive at some point, but we were racing on lap times and didn't have an official race going on. Actually, it should be fun... And people like this (from the VIdeo and my opponent) make something simply broken. By the way, I managed the lap time the next time.

I was once behind two significantly slower people and they even got blue flagged but they did not move an inch I eventually passed them and the traffic was so bad I had an open track after them
I mean from what we see, that guy was obviously in the wrong. But am I the only person wondering what exactly set him off like that? I mean the video just starts with zero context as to why that guy us so pissed off?
You just know that this is the kind of guy who if you confronted him about it out of the karts in a relatively calm yet annoyed manner hed fire back at you saying youre taking it too seriously
I had this same problem other week. This one guy would go for every apex regardless if you were on the inside. Then if you were in front he'd nudge you constantly. Put in into the barrier on a fast right hander as he clipped my rear left. Eventually the Marshalls saw some stuff he were doing and took him off the track.
The race officials should have pulled him out of the race. For those wondering, you aren't allowed to block other drivers or purposefully bump into them. I was at an outdoor track once on a race day and there was a girl who is a decent driver but mainly was faster than us because she's half our size. The problem we had with her was she would check our front bumpers when passing . There was absolutely no reason for her to do this; she could have easily passed anyone of us without touching. During the third race I was Fed Up so I saw her coming and I clipped her to push her sideways into the barrier and I didn't feel bad about it at all, but you know what happened she stopped ramming us to pass. I would have done the same thing to that guy.
Not my style though, but I also would if its just for fun, but if there's a prize to be won, I would just adjust my technique, anything is possible in karting even if im at a disadvantage
@Ben Vista that is true, and it was a local track leaguerace, but after I put her into the barrier, she made clean passes the rest of the race. It just proved she didn't need to be so dirty.
I went go karting with a small group of friends. Anyway, it was just a local go kart place. My buddy who was a shit driver was blocking us from passing. Go Kart racing is a live representation of how people actually drive on the road. That being said, you're definitely one of the best drivers I've seen. Your discipline is unmatched. I would have flipped dude shit clean over. Kudos to you.
This happens to me every single time I go to a go kart place, they always have rules against this exact behavior but it always results in me spending a 100 dollars for 15 minutes of racing behind some dick or a kid. Immediately not worth it at all if your racing with someone who ruins the experience.
This was happening to me a few days ago. Passing the the dude was a nightmare cause it was such a narrow track. His parents were so proud of him thinking that he was doing smth right lmao
I don't understand dirty racers. You're clearly a good racer and you keep gaining. This happened to me a while ago, I was really having fun and gaining my positions all the way from the back. But some people when the see you coming, they quickly close the inside and end up sandwiching me into the wall. Then some bozo slams me from behind, and then the kart guy slows down my kart. But that's what makes a race a race I guess, but I don't like spending my money only for the kart guy to slow my kart down when the other driver sandwiched me as they saw me clearly gaining through the inside. And I mean it, the way the do it is very deliberate. I can tell, just like in this video. But in a way, I guess it gives the race character. But it's uncanny how similar it is to the racers I used to race on Forza 3 lol, they actually race like this in real life.
If you were not halfway up their cart by the time you initiated the turn, you should have backed out to avoid being sandwhiched. That is racing etiquette. How did you get your ass reamed? Did you block him? They must have slowed you down for a reason
@@ThatSB I was more than half way. Almost side by side, and the driver closed me in. They definitely saw me. They wouldn't let me through, they'd block every turn and I just couldn't get passed them. That's when I finally found the opportunity and went for the inside and got pushed in the wall. But who knows. Everything does go fast on those little karts and maybe it was my fault indeed. But compared to the first race I did that same night, this race in particular had a couple ruff racers. But the guy behind me definitely slammed me from behind as I was going for the inside. Just another race I guess. I was part of that mess in the bigger picture. I was getting ready to pass a guy who did the same thing this guy did to you, essentially pushing you directly from the side into a corner. Dude ended up going under the wall when I was done with him hahaha. Slammed the brakes and as he passed me with momentum I put him in the wall.

Ah the Cardiff Track.... I know it so well. I gotta say, I've done far less than the karter in the red suit and been pulled in the pit for re-education. Although.... I will say once on a 50 lap race I pulled a inside overtake on an idiot driver like that to make a point, but caused a three car pile up behind me in the process
TeamSport make it very clear that this isn't a contact sport and any behaviour like this gets you sent to the pits for reeducation or gets you kicked out. This numpty clearly either wasn't paying attention in the briefing or is too thick to understand it. I'm very surprised the marshals didn't intervene earlier; they're usually on point with this sort of stuff.
One time I was Go Karting, I had a bad kart, unresponsive throttle, it would take 3 seconds for the gas to come on. As such on the second lap (of many) I opted for the outside lines. There was 5 or 6 other drivers and most passed me on the inside, but there is this one s turn that is super narrow, I enter it and then get rammed by someone, I spun out and my friend who was behind me got collected in the pile up, my friend and I joke about it now, but I was mildly upset with the person who rammed me
Sounds more like you had a shit kart and got in the way of karts that were faster. The way you explain it I totally get it and am not saying YOU did anything wrong with the hand(kart) you were dealt, but you-let me rephrase this-your KART seems to be what was at fault, not the guy who was faster and ran into you because you were slow lol
Then again, I am a stock car fan…so, while I would never condone intentionally spinning someone without provocation, to me…getting into the back bumper of someone who I’m clearly way faster than and who is keeping me from running my race is a perfectly acceptable consequence and is well within proper racing etiquette 😂
Sounds like an accident, the person who hit you probably didn't expect you to take the line you did. I spun one of my friends on the fastest corner of my local track once under similar sounding circumstances. I was much faster than him (like I was running sub 19 second laps he was running 23ish, short track, he had never gone Karting before) and I came up on him right at that corner and I had become accustom to racing with other fast drivers and just expected him to take a proper line running out to the outside wall on corner exit, so I committed to a line that would leave a little more than a karts width on the outside at the point I expected to pass him. Instead he came out of the corner in roughly the middle of the track going like 20 and I was probably going ~35 and had no way to avoid accidentally pit maneuvering him and he hit the inside wall nose in. I felt bad about it but he was fine and the track stewards where paying enough attention to realize what had happened and I didn't get flagged for it. When it comes to racing accidents happen.
i genuinely thought this was me cuz the first time i went karting there, i was awful and probably doing this but then i realised that he didn't spin out once by himself so nice

Even after we got all the other karts off he tried to hit multiple marshals with the kart and only stopped when he crashed it into a fence. When he got off he screamed about wanting his money back.
Good teaching moment, and she actually learned. Super.
I'm 6 foot 6. I doubt if I'd even fit in a go kart and even if I did I'd be last place all the time unless I bowser'd my opponents to death lol.
I went go karting with a small group of friends. Anyway, it was just a local go kart place. My buddy who was a shit driver was blocking us from passing. It really wasn’t out of ill intent, he was just a shit driver who really didn’t want anyone passing. Anyway, after being stuck behind I had enough and pretty much rammed him to get him out of the way. I didn’t pay $50 to drive slow.
They have bumper cars at the fair. 😂 His line was all over.

JEEz

welcome to online racing bud
If you were not halfway up their cart by the time you initiated the turn, you should have backed out to avoid being sandwhiched. That is racing etiquette. How did you get your ass reamed? Did you block him? They must have slowed you down for a reason
@@ThatSB I was more than half way. Almost side by side, and the driver closed me in. They definitely saw me. Because during that same night, I was able to let racers pass me when I noticed they had the inside. Maybe I'm just judging, but this person from the beginning was a bit if a ruff driver. Not saying I had no fault, but I guess what I'm trying to say is that some people are just ruff drivers. But yeah, it most definitely could've been my fault.
whats there not to understand ? its fun :D ... if there is no bumping its boring otherwise you might as well drive by your self with no one to have a proper fight with is btw not only a clean pass but a fight worthy pass :) ... if you would want to pass me I would not make it easy for you

Grew up with 3 brothers. My youngest brother was this guy. I mastered the pit maneuver and that was that.
if u'r the older brother, why not to teach him to drive fast instead of this shit?
