How To Overhead Press with Kettlebells | Mind Pump

  • In this episode, Kettlebell Master of Sport, Mike Salemi shows Mind Pump Justin How To Perform a Proper Overhead Press with Kettlebells. Mike Salemi of KettlebellLifestyle.com takes us through a few different techniques and rituals. Talking points below:
    1.
    - Using the opposite arm - make a fist
    - Corkscrew and bare down
    - Activating the lat and all muscles underneath the arm
    - Helps stabilize the scapula
    - Experiment and explore with the kettlebell press
    2. Double press
    - Clean the kettlebells in the rack position up to chest level
    - Root to the ground - corkscrew the ground with your feet
    - Lock down the quads and glutes
    - Straight and long
    - Take a stabilization breath
    - Purse lip exhale to help stabilize the spine
    - Fill the belly with diaphragmatic breath
    - Eyes gazing along the kettlebell
    - Important component to where the body moves and transfer strength
    - Bring head back to neutral once you hit the lockout position
    - Then pull the kettlebells down back into the rack
    - Go through your checkpoint
    - Exact same patter, routine and checklist
    - Feet, knees, hips, abs
    - Safer, easier and more efficient
    - Great and effective ways to improve your overhead press with kettlebells

    Love you guys. It is a damn shame that you don't have as many subscribers as people who give out little to no useful information versus you who are pumping out (pun intended) 1000's of dollars worth of free technical info. keep up the good work!

      yeah that does suck, good info is covered up by the junk that is paid advertisements in google and youtube. best thing to do is to help share the good stuff.

    Fuck yeah, took me two years of working out with kettlebell a to figure this out, I found the most important trick is to follow the kettlebell with your eyes during the press.

    I like doing the kettlebell press, but I just keep getting deep shoulder pair the next day. Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Angle seems like what you and everyone else shows, just seems to bother my rotator cuff.
