I go to an old country church 50 miles from where I live and it is well worth the drive every Sunday. Grew up in a small one room church and the hymns were, and still are like gold in a memory vault to me.
I felt there was a sadness about him😥So thankful the Lord forgives and forgets. All we have to do is call upon His Name❤️🙏🏻✝️
I didn't sense any sadness at all. Why would he be sad about serving and singing for the Lord?
@Blake Edmonson Wow! I NEVER said sadness about singing about the Lord. I meant I sense a sadness of him reminiscing about years ago when he was younger and with his family. We sang this song at my country church when I was growing up. You think about family and friends who are no longer with you.

I have to drive 63 miles just to hear my good old time hymns. Back at my old country church.
+Kathy Mcelroy I bought a keyboard, a hymnal, and learned to play because I couldn't find a church where they still play them. The last time I went to church I had to wear earplugs because the electrified music was so loud and awful. What are they thinking?

There is a church in the woods on Lookout Mountain, Alabama side. Been there many times but live too far away in Louisiana to attend. Favorite church ever. Mountain people self-taught play music. It is a Signs Following Church. If you know what that means. Faith healing, prophesying. Holy Ghost. Love that church. Up on the mountain above Ft. Payne. Go up on the mt., then turn left and go a ways past the State Park. It's tucked back on the left nestled in the trees.

we drive an hour one way to our 80+ year old country church with the hard wood floors, literally built on rock cornerstones. we still have two old out houses behind the church, however we do have indoor bathrooms to use now. We use one piano, one guitar, still sing from an old "Church Hymnal", have mourners benches(altars) for folks to pray at and still preach out of the KJV Holy Bible. We still believe JESUS CHRIST is the same yesterday, today and forever. We believe in the old time salvation from sin, sanctification and the blessed Holy Ghost baptism is still for the faithful believers today. Our church is the Westminster Pentecostal Fire Baptized Holiness Church 317 Hobson Street, Westminster, SC 29693 We still believe you need to be holy living people, dress modestly and sing spiritual songs and hymns.

I love the OLD Time singing of hymns and spiritual songs. My wife is a great singer! I would love to be able sometime to put us singing on her to encourage others. Some have asked for us for recordings but not sure how to go about getting that done.

O precious memories of our ole country church with my mama grand ma and grandpa routh and my sister and my 3 brothers johnny gene and danny we heard the ole gospel songs and preaching at Bethany Baptist Church. On state road 64 in eastern manatee county bBradenton Fla cant never replace the best years of my life this song brings tears to my eyes. Mama grandma and grandpa and my beloved brother Gene will meet around the throne of God one sweet dayand for ever more we will all live in our Heavenly Home with our family and friends and most of all to look upon our Master Face. Amen what a Glorious Day That will be when our Lord and Saviour we shall see amen
