For 50 plus years I've restored items but never have I came close to the extent of prefection you have done here. You are the best I have ever seen anywhere! Thanks a million for sharing.
If you heat the plastic with a heat gun it melts the oils on the top layer and restores it to pretty much new, I've seen it done in car videos for restoring faded bumpers and upholstery, I'd imagine it'll work for these type of plastics too (maybe). Great job getting it work again tho, but I feel it got ruined with the awful paint, I'd strip it back again!
Just got a hand me down DCD710 that needs some work and I've found very little references to its inner workings. Thanks, it's a shame I can't just replace the brushes without changing the whole motor though.
Nice and good job. It seems that you made an effort to bring it back into service. We ask you, in the event of assembly, to explain slowly how to install it. You have the utmost respect and appreciation for your friend from Iraq.

Exactly the same thing happened to me rebuilding my dewalt DCD771 drill the torx 20 snapped. Mine isn’t in as bad a condition as yours and scrubbed up good with a new chuck and torx bolt
Excellent restoration! You took what appears to be a heavily used and abused tool likely from the trash and made it completely serviceable again with maybe $35 in parts. I'm doing the same thing with a NI-CD 12v Dewalt drill and Samsung lithium batteries + a BMS is about $25 and I can't imagine the motor costs much since it's probably a fairly common one. Who cares about the paint you have a serviceable tool.
Hello Could you give me the model of your grease fitting and your welder for batteries? And how does the welder work? It need a high amperage battery? or how does it work? Thanks
Outstanding honestly I wouldn't of rebuilt my drill again if it wasn't for this video.. Q.... What is that electric shock that you used for the batteries at the end called I believe I saw a upside down 3Goa IDK but would you tell me the name of it pls.
its a spotwelder, its like a welder but it doesnt create an arc (or not as big as usual welding) and you dont ad material after it, the welder blasts a huge amount of current through the metal to basically melt the parts together.
It is always a good idea to repair things if you can, but as the drill was in such poor condition, it is fair to say the batteries will be shot too, sadly, the time to repair the drill body and the cost of the new batteries makes the whole exercise a financial non-starter. If you then factor in your time at say $10/hour and effort .....you would have been better off throwing the drill away. Good to see the inner workings of a Dewalt drill though. Stay safe.
yeah it will.. very easily too. Personally, I wouldnt paint it, if i was restoring it.. There are better methods to restoring scratched and discoloured plastics...
It was DeWalt. Now it is Ryobi ))
or fake dewalt from aliexpres :)
Pense lo mismo jajajajaa .igual la verdad bien ahi en la reparación

painting was really a bad idea. After some use ut will chip off and look worse than before painting.

These look like fun restoration projects. But wouldn't make sense from a financial perspective

I think you need to make yourself a chuck buster. It’s a bit but it’s cut to fit inside a chuck and you can use an impact wrench to get the chuck off.
I mean it’s a bolt
Hi! How to disassemble a Dewalt D28210? Impossible for me to replace the spindle. 🤔
Great job, keep gong this way
Looks like a Ryobi now! Lol😂
converted dewalt into ryobi 😂 (color), but great restoration

Spot welder. Amazon sells them for exactly that kind of job.

you can use a torch to fix the faded finish on plastics instead of painting.

Dewalt in Ryobi colors :) Painting was unnecessary

Always have the gear box in the number 1 gear when breaking the chuck loose. Otherwise you can likely damage the gear box.
Sheikh Zaid wrong, been doing it for 40 years that way. Was factory train by DeWalt Milwaukee makita etc. that’s the way they do it.
LoL, You turned it into a Ryobi.
To remove the chuck, you smack the Allen key with the hammer. Smack it good too!!
GREAT JOB!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
