Hey @ClassyTheMan, great video. Quick question about your output from the behringer into the M patch. What is the level you have the output on the behringer set to?
YallknowJO Hey, Thanks! the output is at zero on the Behringer, it doesn’t really matter what the output level is on the Behringer because the monitor levels are directly controlled by the M-Patch. I hope this answers your question!
Jim DPiazza Hey Jim... thanks for the comment. The model is the Behringer U-PHORIA UMC202HD ... I did not buy this as a personal choice, I bought it at a swap meet for $5. It’s pretty solid, never messed up on me. I would recommend it to anyone using basic monitor set ups and basic recording. I’m currently looking for an interface with handles DSP. Like an Apollo. It all depends on what you’re using the interface for; all in all, the behringer is a solid piece of equipment.
Larry Quinn So it’s pretty simple. You just hold the talk back button for as long as you need to use the talk back. It sends the talk back directly into mixing & recording headphones (depending on your set up obvi) Ultimately, you have to hold down the talk back button until you’re finished speaking. Also, it doesn’t affect the other audio that’s being played
Hey Old Romans! Thats a good idea. The reason why I didn't do that is because I wanted the difference in sound type to be easily available when mixing audio. I'll definitely keep that in mind when I build another set up! Cheers!
I have the same DBX, I noticed that I lose audio quality when I use it before my Presonus Studio 18/24, I get a sound not really OK. I bought it thinking I could have a little compression to the voice and to record it with less hiss, etc. but, it does not work well for that. Maybe it is great for just talking and getting a sound without the floor noise, but for using it as a pre amp before the sound interface does not help at all, do you use it as I use it? Let me know if you can, many greetings from Germany, Alfredo
Hi Alredo! I agree with you, the DBX 286s preamp does dampen the audio coming through. Have you tried messing with the different knobs? I was able to get a crisp sound at some point with my Shure SM-7b, but it still wasn't working for me. I run a TLM-103 now through an SSL SiX. Audio quality difference is superb. Hope this helped!
Hi Pratima! There is a slot to slide in a headphone jack on the front side of the monitor controller. You would need an adapter to your headphones if you have a basic Aux cable. Hope this helps!
Hey Frank, thanks for the comment! It is noisy, but not as noisy as you'd think. I've upgraded my rig ever since with an Apollo twin X, and have noticed a huge difference in audio quality. I would only recommend the JBL Active for amateur engineers looking to learn the ins and outs of working a monitor controller. Cheers!

Thanks my friend
yo i just bought this controller do u like it so far?
Yo. Yeah, i’m satisfied it’s a pretty solid Monitor controller. Given me No problems! I highly recommend it.
you could send one channel to the sub by itself and that way you could incorporate either monitor set with it.

How do i connect a headphone amp on the monitor controller?
Hi Pratima!

This JBL thing (active) has gotta be super noisy.
