      Camry is more reliable with the naturally aspirated engine. Sonata has longer warranty but I know many cases where Hyundai/Kia don't honor their warranty and refuse to replace engines even under warranty.

    Toyota all day, I like the headlights of the sonata but the Camry xse looks better imo, much sportier and the reliability. There’s a reason the Camry is the number 1 sold car in America for 17 straight years!! Hail to the king baby!! Lol

      @SnowyWolborg 4 года назад +1

      Yeah. You can make a car look as flashy as you want, but at the end of the day, a car is meant to be driven, and reliably. And Toyota wins in that.

  • @andrew.woolman7449
    @andrew.woolman7449 4 года назад +7

    Why do these car reviewers only want to focus on tech & fancy amenities and never focus on reliability? Camry will definitely be more reliable, especially because they have naturally aspirated engines with a great track record compared to the Sonata's turbocharged engine. Also, Hyundai/Kia may have 10 year warranties, but I know of many cases where Hyundai/Kia refused to honor their warranty. They refused to replace engines etc. even under the warranty period. So what's the point of having that warranty?

    • @andrew.woolman7449
      @andrew.woolman7449 4 года назад +2

      @Tyrel Tolliver I agree with everything you wrote about Koreans and Toyota. However lots of people are keeping cars long-term at this price point. In the compact car and midsize budget car segment, people are more concerned about price & reliability rather than tech and cool features.

    • @anoop4243
      @anoop4243 4 года назад +1

      @@andrew.woolman7449 Even if they decide to keep it for a long time, it's fine - as Hyundai's are cheaper to maintain ( less cost of spares ). From a reliability standpoint, I believe that Hyundai, Toyota and Mazda are neck n neck, but accomplish that feat in different ways. Hyundai & Mazda have better QC from start, whereas Toyota doesn't change the car much overtime and gets it done.

    I like the Sonata but I personally think the Camry is way better looking and they dropped the ball on the styling with the Sonata, I would admit it looks different and futuristic but I think it is a little bit too weird, the grille is huge and gives it this catfish look and the rear end is just ok, but the interior is its best asset. I think the Camry also drives sportier and it has an optional v6 which I love so I would pick the Camry

  • @curiously1510
    @curiously1510 4 года назад +6

    Sonata for the win! Styling is always subjective but the Sonata is a more sophisticated design as compared to the faux sporty styling cues on the Camry. The tech in the Hyundai is impressive at this price point, and the blind spot video in the gauge cluster is genius. Hope that becomes standard in all vehicles.

      And there is nothing wrong with being a Toyota guy. As you can tell I'm one too...I used to have a 2012 Sonata Turbo Limited and I'll tell you I loved the looks of the car and the punch it had but once the engine blew at 52k miles and Hyundai refused to repair it under warranty I knew I had to buy the Camry instead. I was deciding between the two and went with the Sonata because it really stood up in exterior and interior design...but quality is definitely not on par with Toyota. And yes, the Sonata was stock, no mods, no computer mods, nothing in it, all maintenance in schedule. It just had a bad engine that Hyundai later accepted was faulty and recalled it. Still refused to change the engine under warranty. So, what did I learn? Toyota has a shorter warranty than Hyundai, yes, but in the long run you will need it less than in a Hyundai which by the way, Hyundai will probably look for any excuses to refuse repair under warranty. Bottom line, buy Toyota. Congrats for being a Toyota guy!

    I had so many issues with my 2019 Camry Hybrid that toyota was forced to
    buy it back under my states lemon law. Also, NHTSA has tons of complaints
    on most every new toyota, much more per volume than any other manufacturer.

      @@ARUclipsChannelwithNoName Instead of ranting, screaming and waving his
      arms like a lunatic, Kilmer should read about and report on the many, many issues at
      both toyota and lexus as well..... ruclips.net/video/Au6TQBEKjHw/видео.html

    Nice review except zero talk about reliability..where in that category Toyota has a significant advantage.

      Not really anymore. They are a little more reliable, but not by alot

      all cars will be more or less reliable for the first 5-7 years and that's enough for 95% of people.

    Hey guys! I really prefer Hyundai Sonata I’m so sick of Toyota Camry right now. I don’t really see the huge difference between korean cars & Japanese cars now. I know once Korean cars were know to be terrible cars but it past is history & future is something yet to come!

    The Toyota Camry is shamefully behind in innovation and design. It Looks like from 2010.

      Man,there is no need to say like that.Camry will surely win in terms of sales and reliability.

      Hyundai killed the Elantra and the Sonata with their stupid design... however, the new Elantra design looks better than this Sonata, but both are still ugly as hell...

    Great Review Guys, I'm not sure if it has been done or requested. I have not read through all the comments yet. Have you done a review with the Sonata Limited Hybrid vs the Camry XLE Hybrid? I for one, would really love to see that. It looks like the Sonata will best the XLE Hybrid but it will still be interesting to watch the battle unfold. Thanks

      Thanks! That's a great idea for a comparison that we can do after we find a Sonata Hybrid to review!
