Thanks so much for tuning in! As one subscriber pointed out, the Sonata now has complimentary maintenance (starting in FEB), which was mistakenly left out. Let us know which car you prefer in the comments below!
Camry is more reliable with the naturally aspirated engine. Sonata has longer warranty but I know many cases where Hyundai/Kia don't honor their warranty and refuse to replace engines even under warranty.
Toyota all day, I like the headlights of the sonata but the Camry xse looks better imo, much sportier and the reliability. There’s a reason the Camry is the number 1 sold car in America for 17 straight years!! Hail to the king baby!! Lol
Why do these car reviewers only want to focus on tech & fancy amenities and never focus on reliability? Camry will definitely be more reliable, especially because they have naturally aspirated engines with a great track record compared to the Sonata's turbocharged engine. Also, Hyundai/Kia may have 10 year warranties, but I know of many cases where Hyundai/Kia refused to honor their warranty. They refused to replace engines etc. even under the warranty period. So what's the point of having that warranty?
@Tyrel Tolliver I agree with everything you wrote about Koreans and Toyota. However lots of people are keeping cars long-term at this price point. In the compact car and midsize budget car segment, people are more concerned about price & reliability rather than tech and cool features.
@@andrew.woolman7449 Even if they decide to keep it for a long time, it's fine - as Hyundai's are cheaper to maintain ( less cost of spares ). I like the Sonata but I personally think the Camry is way better looking and they dropped the ball on the styling with the Sonata, I would admit it looks different and futuristic but I think it is a little bit too weird, the grille is huge and gives it this catfish look and the rear end is just ok, but the interior is its best asset. I think the Camry also drives sportier and it has an optional v6 which I love so I would pick the Camry
Sonata for the win! Styling is always subjective but the Sonata is a more sophisticated design as compared to the faux sporty styling cues on the Camry. The tech in the Hyundai is impressive at this price point, and the blind spot video in the gauge cluster is genius. Hope that becomes standard in all vehicles.
I must say that the camry is probably the most attractive mid-size sedan right now. The sonata has slightly more tech but the design is a bit off honestly
I love both of their looks. I just think there is wayyy too much tech on that Sonata that nobody really needs if they have at least have a brain. Second concern is not only the reliability of the Sonatas power train but also all of the technology and features. For me, I’d choose the Camry. It has always been the best in value and build quality.
Can I ask why bigger wheels give more points? Honestly they just make the ride worse and noisier than it could be and tires are stupidly expensive for 19”+ wheels vs the smaller 18’s and lower, I’d take the smallest wheel option available almost any day of the week for the sheer comfort that comes with it and the low cost of tire/rim replacement
I find the Camry bland in traditional Toyota fashion. Some like that. They don’t want to be noticed. But I will say this. I passed two new Sonatas today and they stood out immediately.
I love the comparison videos that you make and hopefully you can do many more like this one. I noticed that the Camry was given value since awd is an option but the model tested didn't have it.
