The Camry is an astounding car and that is coming from someone that owns a W211 E350 and E92 328 Stage 1 coupe. I drove a 2022 over 2000kms through Vermont, New Hampshire and Upstate NY and was utterly relaxed, comfortable and in control The car handled the twisting notches of Vermont with confidence, carved tight backroads with minimal body roll, had enough power to do passing maneuvers at 75mph+ and on top of that, got incredible fuel economy. At elevation and sustained speeds of 70+mph, I saw 30mpg continuously, even touching 35mpg.. The seats were unbearably comfortable, on par with the best BMW thrones, the tech worked flawlessly and the transmission was quick reacting and unobtrusive. Even the engine sounded good, for a 4 cylinder and power was more than adequate even driving spiritedly and through the Green and White Mountains where elevations push 1200m+. Lastly, the base sound system was completely satisfactory. The JBL would be a good deal better, I'm sure but as someone who has the HK in the Mercedes and a tweaked Logic 7 in the E92, the Camry's audio quality was inoffensive and totally acceptable. I would buy one in a heartbeat!

@@jaredshelton4718 The Ford Fiesta ST is in fact turbocharged and 1.6 liters in displacement. Try again. The point is a car this size needs a larger naturally aspirated engine. And naturally aspirated engines with similar horsepower are every bit as fuel efficient given the same vehicle mass.
There is no heated rear seats. You’re thinking the Avalon Limited or Touring. In 2020 Toyota added the heated wheel to the AWD Camry models. In 2021 refresh they allowed you to get the heated wheel on the FWD models
The XSE only has 2 functional exhaust pipes. The other 2 are just welded next to the real ones but aren't connected to anything behind it. So many good mid size sedans these days can't really go wrong with any of them. For my money though I'd take the Mazda6.
According to research while 2 pipes are functional, the other 2 tips are connected. When the gas flows out of the pipes, it then splits apart Like a Y shape
I work at Toyota. The PCM can hold multiple tunes, it's effectively how you have drive modes. Go to a Tuning shop, have them only tune the Sport Mode mapping. Retain Normal + Eco modes, and also have ApeShit™️ mode at the click of a button. Also, we used to make factory superchargers, they're bolt-on.
The Camry looks awesome and the Sonata looks alright. I like the interior led blue light glowing in the Camry. Feels cool. But Sonata is my most favorite not by speed or look but I love and focus more on the tech and features it has. Also the moon roof. Sonata Limited is my dream car.
Thank the 2 BMW engineers at the Hyundai Motor Group as they are giving the Germans a decent run for their money. Years ago I never thought I would say "They are killing it ,Well done keep making excellent cars ".
I don’t think I’d ever say this but the Hyundai is better and more aggressive looking than the Camry. The technology on the interior is way more updated. I would buy the Hyundai.
Julio Blanco I'm not sure about that one. Firstly I would stay away from a used turbocharged Hyundai. The new (untested) port and direct injected 2.4 sel plus would be my pick, brand new of the lot. Hopefully the inclusion of port injection will help with the carbon buildup in the engine, but again, it's new so who knows how it will hold up long term? Right now you can get a base 2019 sonata for around $15,500 and a sel for $18,500 brand new so expect the same deals on this one in around a year's time. The problem if you are planning on keeping it for 6+ years does that extra $4,000 -$5,000 dollars you are saving buying the sonata offset it's less than stellar resale value over the Camry? It's a conundrum for sure.
I'm a pretty big Hyundai fan -- from the early 2000s. It's nice to see what they are doing now, although I miss the simplicity of their older cars. That said, if / when Toyota makes a Camry with AWD it could be a gamer changer. Aside from Subaru, with their CVTs, you really can't get an AWD sedan unless you go into the luxury market. Although I suppose the new Mazda3 would be an exception to that (in the compact category). Anyway, it's great to see this trend. I really love AWD -- don't think I can ever go back to FWD or RWD only. I live in the rainy pacific northwest and don't like one-wheel-peels when I take off. And AWD is a nice option for going up into the mountains (for skiing) or out into the state parks (for shooting guns). hehe.
This is too late, but the Ford Fusion has been available with AWD and heated steering wheel (in Titanium Package). My wife drives a 2015 so equipped. My search criteria were: 4 door sedan, AWD, heated seats/steering wheel, and red color. It having 4 cyl ecoboost w/ 220 HP is a bonus. Will need to replace in 2021 with same spec. Good to hear the camry will offer it, as she drove a camry for 8 years before the fusion and liked it (but it had the 6 cyl.)
Keep up the great work. In these times of Pandemic and other issues, youre videos and hilarious intros has been very helpful in keeping a positve view and still be able to laugh
The Camry will always have a disadvantage on features as it's not a flagship for Toyota, the Avalon is. The Sonata is the flagship. It makes sense they would have more features.
I have the 2020 sonata glowing yellow it turns heads especially at a red light all I do is smile to myself and keep it moving to the next light or stop sign..
One thing to add is that in Canada - you have to pay around $2500 to get a warranty that matches what you get on a Hyundai as standard. All Hyundai cars come with 2/40,000Km more bumper to bumper warranty. So it is something to consider when talking about comparing the Genesis/Hyundai/Kia group to all the other makers.
the sonata n line makes much more sense compared to the dumbass camry TRD. the camry TRD is an all show no go car. practically little to no performance enhancements, other than its ugly ass cosmetic mods
I agree, I drove both and this review is spot on! The Sonata's new look has grown on me, sort of like an exotic man new to the area from another country. At first I'm not sure about him, but after a few days together I found myself in love. Nice review!
Good review, Folks! Toyota really killed the design with this last generation. I am even suprised that I said that. If the cars are so similar, i would definitely choose Camry because it holds value unbelievably!
One of these Camry XSE pulled up next to me while I was getting gas. The exhaust was only coming out of the inside pipes and not the outside ones. The outside ones are blocked off.
What I call level 2 fake exhaust haha. Level 1 is where the exhaust pipe just feeds into a bumper outlet (BMW X5). Level 3 is the new trend of having completely fake plastic exhaust shapes where the actual exhasut tip points straight down before the bumper
Note: the heated rear seats are not available in the United States. There is no Ultimate package for the Sonata, just the Limited. I believe rear heated seats are available (or standard) for the N-Line. I never looked into the Hybrid options. I LOVE my 2021 Limited! It's such a fun ride! Camry is getting more boring design wise. Sonata is killing it..
Well, except when it comes to the engine. 1.6L is a joke. That's a Ford Fiesta engine. Hyundai can make some good V6s, this needs one of them.
Not with a econocar 1.6 liter engine it ain't
@@justinluttrell1769 For the sake of fuel economy no. And the 1.6 is Turbocharged, therefore not a Fiesta.
@@justinluttrell1769 We're not talking about the Fiesta here lol, stay in your lane tool.
Camry for me, but i do like some of the tech in the sonata.
There are rear heated seats, heated steering wheel, and heads up display in the Camry for the United States.
There is no heated rear seats. You’re thinking the Avalon Limited or Touring.
In 2020 Toyota added the heated wheel to the AWD Camry models. In 2021 refresh they allowed you to get the heated wheel on the FWD models
I got the 2020 camry xse 4cl a month ago and it is perfect
Great vehicle. No doubt. Hope you're still enjoying it.
I cant wait for Hyundai to release the Sonata N
That beginning was the most creative funny start to any car video I have seen in the last 3 decades. Great job.
So interesting how I just drove past that Hyundai plant today heading back home!! its huge!!
FIRST Merry Christmas to you guys and thx for your awesome videos
.
FOR ME 2020 Hyundai Sonata IS BETTER
"solid" vs "playful" - had the same dillema with women

Not sure what’s going on at Hyundai and Kia but quality and designs of their cars have been going up i credibly in last few years.
Hobbyman TV, they are nice but only if their cheap.
There’s only one way to go from the bottom.
"...the S line, the R line,... they lying..." 😂 Nice word play 👍🏾
Mazda 6 is great if they offered a more powerful option I would have purchased it
I chose the Honda Accord
I work at Toyota. The PCM can hold multiple tunes, it's effectively how you have drive modes. Go to a Tuning shop, have them only tune the Sport Mode mapping. Retain Normal + Eco modes, and also have ApeShit™️ mode at the click of a button. Also, we used to make factory superchargers, they're bolt-on.
@@naveenkrishnamurthy7576 Yes my bad. I meant the exhaust outlets. The tailpipes.
@@henrymccomments There's a turbo model with 250hp and 300 lb-ft of torque. Did you buy your Accord before the turbo Mazda6 was released?
Iam going with Camry 100% ..long live the crown 👑 ❤
The Camry looks awesome and the Sonata looks alright. I like the interior led blue light glowing in the Camry. Feels cool. But Sonata is my most favorite not by speed or look but I love and focus more on the tech and features it has. Also the moon roof. Sonata Limited is my dream car.
Thank the 2 BMW engineers at the Hyundai Motor Group as they are giving the Germans a decent run for their money. Years ago I never thought I would say "They are killing it ,Well done keep making excellent cars ".
Kind of funny that James got the year we get the new Camry right on just a random riff
I love both of these cars. Toyota Camry is beautiful and so is the Hyundai Sonata. I would get both of them if I could.
When we got our 2011 Camry it was the most outdated sedan in 2011 😂😂
Bro Hyundai really pumping out the newer look vehicles
I mean kids in Africa will see any car as "new looking"
Jesse M. your pretty racist
yonda ila *you’re
JustATypicalGuy you’re what say it now I commande you now say it
yonda ila *command
I don’t think I’d ever say this but the Hyundai is better and more aggressive looking than the Camry. The technology on the interior is way more updated. I would buy the Hyundai.
Same.
These guys have the right chemistry. They understand timing and humor.
I’d love to see a comparison of the base models of each!
Camry for resale value and reliability. Hyundai for warranty and tech. 🤔
couldn't have said it any better
Buy the Camry new, the Sonata used.
When it comes to selling, the Camry owner will walk away with a smile. Can't say the same for the Hyundai owner
And AWD is a nice option for going up into the mountains (for skiing) or out into the state parks (for shooting guns). hehe.
2021 Toyota Camry and Avalon are confirmed to bring AWD
AWD camry coming up in a few months, 20 model, and 21 Avalon closer to the end of the year
AWD Camry only a 4 cyl
This is too late, but the Ford Fusion has been available with AWD and heated steering wheel (in Titanium Package). My wife drives a 2015 so equipped. My search criteria were: 4 door sedan, AWD, heated seats/steering wheel, and red color. It having 4 cyl ecoboost w/ 220 HP is a bonus. Will need to replace in 2021 with same spec. Good to hear the camry will offer it, as she drove a camry for 8 years before the fusion and liked it (but it had the 6 cyl.)
Show Me What I Need To Know I feel the same way, except about the Accord. If the Accord was an AWD 2.0T I would stop leasing BMW’s and buy an Accord.
I'd rather have the Sonata. I may be a little bit bias though lol since I've had 3 Hyundai's. It's the Reliability, Technology and looks for me.
Keep up the great work. In these times of Pandemic and other issues, youre videos and hilarious intros has been very helpful in keeping a positve view and still be able to laugh
Sonata looks stylish. Camry looks sturdy. But I’d buy the Sonata if I had to pick one.
I would wait for the new Optima/K5. It looks far better imo, especially in the front.
stylish? I think it's awful, so ugly
Lol
Camry looks so cheap
Garbage truck
Vasily Kravtsov I’ll grant it’s quirky, but more refined looking overall.
I still choose the more pragmatic car, more service centers, more easily accessible parts.
And an NA engine. I feel they are not appreciated these days
The junkota ??
"...which means this is the best."
Now hold on there. You haven't driven the N-Line yet
James is probably the only car reviewer on RUclips to actually pronounce "Hyundai" correctly.
@Throttle house. You guys are by far two of the best vehicle reviewers on the internet.
These guys actually pronounce "Hyundai" (H-yunnn-day) correctly, kudos.
People calling hyunday High - un - die makes me die a bit inside :p
Aequitas The guy driving it pronounced it Hin-day. The other guy pronounced it the most accepted way, Hun-day.
Hee-yun-die sounds way better
Is it day or di at the end
Not really 😉
The Camry will always have a disadvantage on features as it's not a flagship for Toyota, the Avalon is. The Sonata is the flagship. It makes sense they would have more features.
8:20 that estate Sonata looked very sick. 😍
Looks way better like James said
I have the 2020 sonata glowing yellow it turns heads especially at a red light all I do is smile to myself and keep it moving to the next light or stop sign..
Wait till y'all see the Sonata N-line.
can't wait
the sonata n line makes much more sense compared to the dumbass camry TRD. the camry TRD is an all show no go car. practically little to no performance enhancements, other than its ugly ass cosmetic mods
If a Santa Fe N-line comes out with around 400hp, I will be the first that buys it. I love it
I agree, I drove both and this review is spot on!
Dual pipes, quad tips. It's funny coz in Australia I believe the outside ones are real and the inner ones are fake
Y’all are actually top 5 in car reviews
Note: the heated rear seats are not available in the United States. There is no Ultimate package for the Sonata, just the Limited. I believe rear heated seats are available (or standard) for the N-Line. I never looked into the Hybrid options. I LOVE my 2021 Limited! It's such a fun ride! The torque pull really surprised me in a great way! Great Video guys!!
when accelerating from 0-10mph does the car shake at all when shifting gears?
I would choose the sonata due to the fact that there's still some hidden secrets that they haven't brought up
I'm subscribed. Saw this video and I am officially hooked. Deep love of everything cars. Thanks for the chuckles too.
"This is why my mom doesn't believe we have real jobs" hilarious
