Thanks! I am always looking videos that show multiple day trips outside a main city or hub or being able to visit nearby towns, cities or areas in 1 to 3 days leisurely so I can make the most of my trips! This is such a good video. Why I only discover this? I will be going to tokyo early march this year. What would recommend for day trip other than kawaguchiko?
Thank you for watching. I recommend Kamakura for a day trip as it has a lots of diversified view of mountain, temple, and ocean in a small area. Have a great trip.
@@tokyokenchan I was going to go to Nippo and Hakone to begin with, but they looked a bit difficult after watching your video. I am now going to go to Mt Takao and Kamakura as they look easier and both look beautiful in your videos!
I agree, this is another great video with plenty of really good + valuable information. Personally however, I am not a big fan of day trips (that is not only in Japan, but worldwide). I prefer to visit less places, and stay there at least one night (2 nights are better). Because the place is usually totally different before and after the day trip visitors are gone. Perfect examples for that are Kawaguchiko (from Tokyo), Nara (from Kyoto or Osaka) and Miyajima (from Hiroshima). When the day trip visitors are not there, its much more relaxed and peaceful and enjoyable.
@@swissfoodie3542 I agree. It's amazing how the same place can look different depends on the time and situation. The good part of the day trip is you can leave your suitcases in your hotel.
@@firefangz Oh that is a big change!😅 I haven't made videos about Hakone because it is easy and not much tips to talk about. They have some good sceneries. A night trip is better, but the day is still long enough in September. I just noticed you are going to Kyoto too. :)
Hello Kengo just a quick question do you think its possible to do a day trip to Kamikochi from Tokyo, I'm not planning to hike or anything i just wanna stroll around the Kappa Bridge and see the beautiful mountains.
Hi. If you take 7:15 bus you arrive 12:02, or 22:25 bus of previous day arrive 5:20 in the morning. The return bus is leaveing at 15:00 or 16:10 arrives Tokyo about 5 hours later. So if that is physically possible for you, you can make it. :)
Echigo Yuzawa is an excellent day trip, the station has a sake vending shop and lots of great rice products for sale. Theres even a pick your own strawberry farm January to June called Yuzawa Ichigo Mura Strawberry Farm. And being a tourist I was able to get a JR East Pass, so it only cost me $100 round trip for my first Shinkansen ride. One of the best days of our whole trip.
Thank you for sharing your experience about Echigo Yuzawa. The strawberry farm sounds interesting. I just visited Yuzawa last week after a long time and was surprised how much the station has. It's a fun place to explore shops for rice products and sake. :)
Hello, I considered the best station but there is no one station that is convenient for both, and it depends on other plans too. If you use JR Tokyo Wide Pass for Nikko, the origin or trip would be Shinjuku, Tokyo or Ueno for JR Pass, and if you use Tobu train, it will be Asakusa. For Hakone, if you use Odakyu, Shinjuku is convenient. If you use JR pass (Tokaido Shinkansen) or JR Tokyo Wide Pass (Odoriko or regular JR train) to Odawara, near Tokyo or Shinagawa would be convenient. :)
Hi Kenchan. I’m rewatching this video again for ideas for my next trip. I went to Tokyo last September and it was so hot & humid. It seems that I didn’t learn my lesson because I’ve booked another trip in September 😂
