Roger Chance, the Apostle, spreading the word. And it's all real and true. This is just what BAND-MAID sounds like. I caught them live in Minneapolis, last year. And I'll be there for the next USA tour.
And here he has found a gem: finally a reactor with a great feeling for music. Not because he likes Band Maid, you just notice that he immediately recognizes many of the special facets of Band Maid. Looking forward for more ... Thanx roger!
Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up.
You also need to realize that this was song #27 out of 33 during a 3 hr 45 min long concert featuring only themselves! No Opening acts! Endless energy and stamina!
@@harmonicchaos1337 the "purple" guitar is a PRS Custom 24 - KANAMI has many different colors of same guitar. With Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier. MIKU is playing a signature (Slappy Pigeon) Zemaitis guitar with EVH 5150 amp. AKANE (Ah Ka Ney) uses TAMA drums with Zildjan cymbals. MISA plays Black Cloud and Fender Bass guitars - she has a signature Black Cloud out now. There's plenty more to learn about these ladies. Music and lyrics are written by BAND MAID. MAIDIACS motto: Your favorite BAND MAID song is the last one you heard. - Not a bad song in 10+ year catalog. BTW all the original members too!
The Maids are the best band on the planet. Baby metal is 3 cute girls dancing around to power chords. Band Maid is 5 mega talented beauties that write and play their own music and absolutely crush it.
🐦 *Harmonic Chaos* 🐦 Welcome to the world of *BAND-MAID* (2013 - Present) A group of 5 young ladies from Japan that will rock your world: *Miku Kobato* (Kuruppo) = Lead Vocals / Rhythm Guitar *(Po!)* *Saiki Atsumi* (Sai-Chan) = Lead Vocals *Kanami Tono* (Kanamincho) = Lead Guitarist *Akane Hirose* (A-Chan) = Drummer *MISA* (MISA, MISA, MISA) = Bassist If you wish to continue down this Pigeon Hole 😊 you will enjoy over 100+ great songs you will start saying to yourself “This is my favorite *BAND-MAID* song”. _(No joke Po!)_ Below is a list of songs that will get you started *Choose Me(MV) - 2018* *Dice(MV) - 2018* *Real Existence Live - Zepp Tokyo 2018* *Blooming(MV) - 2019* *ONSET - Zepp Tokyo 2018* (instrumental) I discovered *BAND-MAID* in 2019 and came to a realization that *BAND-MAID* more then just a rock band they are a band that does not have any boundaries and is willing experiment into different genre from (Blues, Rock, Punk and Jazz) and a lot of fans including me would say “you got to check out their live videos” from: *2017-STUDIO COAST* *2018-Zepp Tokyo* *2020-LINE CUBE SHIBUYA* *2021-BAND-MAID ONLINE ACOUSTIC* In the end I realize that *BAND-MAID* more then just a band but a band that cares about each other and their fan base and in October of 2022 I had a fortune of experiencing them live and with that *BAND-MAID* cemented their Legacy into my heart. People call Band Maid metal, but they are closer to hard rock. If you don't know who the members are there is Akane on drums, Misa on bass, Kanami on lead guitar, Miku on rhythm guitar/vocals and Saiki the lead singer. One of the things I love about this band is the guitar battles between Kanami and Misa, they are always awesome and showcase how talented all of the members are. Welcome to the Maidiacs.
all 5 of these ladies are top-tier musicians so there's none of this rock star ego crap about 1 person carrying the band, most likely why they've been together for ten yrs with the original lineup, they write their own music and lyrics, they have a large catalogue of music (100+ songs), these ladies are the real deal
Band Maid is a musician’s band. And an engineer’s band. Like Rush before them, they are progressive and fearless in songwriting, but somehow make the complexity fun and entertaining. Your ears will be rewarded by exploring their back catalog. If you liked this one? You haven’t heard anything yet. For you, I would respectfully recommend these Band Maid gems: “From Now On,” official music video. Metal instrumental “Secret My Lips,” official music video. Studio track over live footage. “Puzzle,” official live. An example of their dense, cinematic prog/pop rock Enjoyed your analysis on “Hate” and I can’t wait for your next one! 🤘🏽
Thanks for the reaction and comments. A huge shoutout to Roger Chance for spreading the good word. These ladies are FIRE!!!!! They exude pure joy and energy. You've already figured out that they're an insanely talented group of musicians. You'll run out of superlatives after a few listens of their various live performances. Be sure to check out Moratorium (Live at Zepp Tokyo), Domination, Play, Real Existence...to start. You'll become forever a Maidiac. Cheers!
First time listening to your reaction and you killed it. Got a sub and like from me. Please continue down the BM pigeon hole. You will not be disappointed! These ladies are the best thing to happen to hard rock in decades!
GREAT REACTION! You have passed the test! Your heart is pure! Welcome to the BandMaid experience! Your technical praise means a lot. This song is no fluke. This is what you get with BandMaid- incredible music played to perfection. Genre? Genrre?? We don' need no stinkin' genra. They bend genres to their mighty will! Bass solos are pretty frequent in BANDMAID music and I think it is quite evident why. MHO, the greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century! I could go on and on. Glad you're here!
10 years and 120+ songs of pure greatness 🔥🤘❤️ Maybe best liveband ever in this planet. They have it all..Passion Work Heart Talent. Magical band 💥🔥🤘❤️ Lovin’ Band-Maid.
Welcome and thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this very performance at the venue on Nov.26, last year. Very exciting 3-hour-40-minute-long show with 33-song setlist. (Happy fatigue thereafter 😄 ) Band-Maid is one of the best bands in our country, especially in live performance. Just so you know, My wife and I are going to Band-Maid concert tomorrow, Japan time. May 10 is a special day to commemorate this great band. (I am a big fan of the two "BM" bands you mentioned, Band-Maid and BABYMETAL)
Guitar with the birds is a Paul Reed Smith. The silver guitar is a Zemaitis. The bass guitar is a Black Cloud. Please, check out their song Giovanni if you want to hear Kanami-san just play on the high E string. She’s a friggin genius!
Somewhere in RUclipsVerse is a fancam (maybe Vladimir Chupin's) is a song titled "Clang" where MISA and Kanami have a duel where MISA uses finger tapping on her bass in response to Kanami's finger tapping. Cool as hell!
Love Domination but you may be right. I also fervently believe that Moratorium was prematurely retired and needs to be brought back! But I suppose there are so many songs I want back. I'll just have to be happy with all of the awesome new ones.
Greetings from Germany and welcome to the pigeon hole of Band-Maid! 😉🤘🏻 For me, these ladies are the heart of the entire rock genre of our time... Ah, what can I say when these ladies say it best in one of their songs? ↩🤘🏻 _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. Forever!"_ 」 - from *BAND-MAID* - 'Manners' ♬🕊
Bass solos are commonplace with Band Maid. Their bassist, Misa, is exceptional and basically plays lead bass. Their rhythm guitarist/2nd vocal, Miku Kobato, is actually the band’s founder, and was originally the lead singer, and didn’t play guitar when they started. She adapted because her voice didn’t really have the power for the style they wanted to play, so they recruited the current lead singer. That history left a bit of a gap to fill while she was learning to play guitar, and I think that led to Misa filling it in and giving them a really cool sound.
Ever since i first heard this song when the album came out 2 years ago, i always knew it would be the one to get peoples attention. So glad they actually released a live video for it.
I'm always happy when a reactor with a good feel for music and a musical background enjoys Band Maid. They offer so much in EVERY song for music experts like you. Great "job" 😄I immediately subscribed! And I can tell: You will love ALL of their songs. You recognized so much from this single song that are core features of Band Maid: The bass lines, the backing vocals, breaking the rules, their live performance .... These ladies are masters at their instruments: Kanami (composer and lead guitar), Akane (drums) and Misa (bass). Then there is lead vocalist Saiki who is perfect for the Band Maid sound and Miku Kobato (rythm guitar, pure energy, most lyrics, fantastic backing vocals and harmonies). Miku wasn't able to play the guitar in 2013 when she founded the band: You may later want to watch the wonderful documentaries by Ohrenje! I don't know of any other band where the fans' playlists differ so much. So, this is just a quite random selection of songs: For some very special live videos try Freedom, Play, Real existence and Endless Story. With Moratorium (Live at Zepp), Rinne (MV) and Dice you can hear more hard rock while more catchy songs are Choose me (MV), Bestie (MV) and Alone (MV). And if you want to hear some ballads then maybe About Us (MV) and Daydreaming (MV) are good picks. But don't miss some of their instrumentals like From now on (MV) and Onset (Live). And finally a very special live performance is Manners/Blackhole (Official Online Live: 'Blackhole' IS 'harmonic chaos' 😀)🍌 And there is more: For example the songs with Miku in lead, their christmas acoustic concert and the 'cover band' Band-Maiko ;-) But if you want to start at the beginning of their career (2013-2017) then go with Thrill (MV, their first video), Real Existence (second video), Alone (MV, first own composition), Freedom(best LIVE performance), Choose Me and Play (LIVE!) Some other band recommendations? Then try "The Sixsters" from Ukraine (pick any song) and "Gacharic Spin" from Japan (song: "Mindset"). Have fun... Can't wait to see more ... Po 🕊 By the way: You have a nice collection of band reactions (e.g. Feuerschwanz, Saltatio Mortis, The Warning). I wonder how you discovered "The Warning" months ago and didn't know about "Band Maid" since today. You must have stumbled over their name previously 😀Both bands join for a concert in Japan in the near future. Another song recommendation (just listen to it or react to it): "Warriors of the world" (Manowar cover) by a collaboration of Feuerschwanz, Saltatio Mortis, Melissa Bonny and Thomas Winkler. And a really fun video is "Ding" by Feuerschwanz!
Oh my gosh, you have opened the floodgates. They may be the best rock group in the world today (I think they are). They are certainly the most creative band since the Beatles. Yes, I stand by that statement! I saw many of the classic rock bands - Purple, Zeppelin, Queen, Santana, many more, all in their heyday. I’ve seen Band-maid three times and their performances stand up to any of those legendary bands. You are going to get a lot of suggestions. First, a little background on the band: Saiki Atsumi - Lead vocals Born Feb 8, 1994 MISA - Bass Born Oct 15, 1992 Kanami Tono - Lead guitar, Main composer and arranger Born Sept 28, 1991 Miku Kobato - Rhythm guitar, backing vocal Born Oct 21, 1991 Akane Hirose - Drums Born Dec 14, 1990 Miku was working in a Maid Café after being in an idol group that didn’t break through. She envisoned the idea of a maid-band that plays hard rock and metal. She recruited Kanami, after finding a Kanami guitar cover on line; Kanami then recruited Akane, who recruited MISA. Akane and MISA had been students together at the Tokyo Music Academy. The group decided they needed more vocal “oomph”, and collectively recruited Saiki. Miku didn't know how to play guitar when they started, so Kanami has been teaching her. She's become good so fast that she is really adding to the music mix, and Maidiacs are daring to dream of a dual shred. The band was struggling early on, and in 2014, even as the label was considering dropping them, they posted the music video for “Thrill” which went viral globally. When they realized what was going on, it gave them the momentum to forge ahead, and they have now done multiple tours of Europe and the U.S. and are building a global fanbase who call themselves the Maidiacs. They have released seven full albums, as well as several EPs, singles and music videos. They have put out around 170 songs, covering a wide variety of styles and sounds, without any duds. They combine a punk vibe with instrumental virtuosity (two things that are often seen as being incompatible), and have done some amazing progressive-rock songs with a metal edge to them. They toured the U.S. in 2022 and sold out 14 cities in less than 48 hours. They followed it up with a 2023 tour which had to be expanded from their original plans. Their fan base skews heavily to actual practicing musicians. Some of those followed the band to multiple dates and documented everything on youtube-some of the footage is hilarious. I’ve seen them in 2019, 2022 and 2023. Their shows are truly life-reaffirming. So far no announcements of another European tour but it seems likely in 2024. Band-Maid are that rare band that sound perfect live, even better than in the studio. Everything they have posted from their 10thAnniversary concert in Yokohama is absolute fire-I have bought the DVD and recommend you do too. 33 songs, 3 hours of insanity. It's hilarious, it's insightful, you will learn their names for good, and their cuteness will destroy your brain. Oh, and they are completely nuts. ruclips.net/video/R4PofsQYwn4/видео.html
If we talk about MIX and BASS or LIVE - BAND-MAID is @ the TOP of Food-chain (IMO), check out more Maids. thanks and Welcome 2 Band-Maid. And Pause/stop as many time as you want. Roger is a Maidiacs Maidiac and my friend he has given you the incredible gift of now knowing about BAND-MAID, these petite Rock Goddesses will steal your heart while giving you a rock and roll punch that Mike Tyson would be proud of, dive in and enjoy you won't regret it 👍🍻🍻🍻
@@frankandre4385 Brother Frank firstly I would trade years off my life to be the personal bar tender for the Maids, what a job 🎉 and secondly that was way to accurate a description of me 😂 hope life is good in your world, Kanpai 👍🍻🎼
Great reaction Man!!! So good that I have subscribed. Band Maid is most likely the best metal/rock band out there today. Their musicianship, songwriting, and vocals are superb. I hope you find the wherewithall to listen to more from them. You won't regret it. I'm looking forward to journeying with you into a musical future. Again very knowledgeable reaction! I was lucky enough to catch them live in Salt Lake City of all places last summer. and they are every bit as good as this. They are mind boggling and sensory destroying in concert. You leave in a daze going what did I just experience? How? What? Incredible!
Welcome, Mr. Chaos. You are embarking on (along with many others - over 200 million YT views plus over 40 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (130+ songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular! Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: ruclips.net/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/видео.html Their songs from albums Unleash, Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Shambles, Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, Bestie, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits (AniMaid) like Sense, Glory and Unleash!!!!! (from their own Anime MV (series?)): ruclips.net/video/7LB_EPS48HE/видео.html) And many songs are represented with over 50 well produced music videos. ruclips.net/user/BANDMAID Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYUJI concerts: 2023 Yokohama 10th Year Anniversary Concert “Endless Story” ruclips.net/video/Za1y-RRVd70/видео.html ONLINE OKYU-JI (Feb. 11, 2021) “No God” ruclips.net/video/nAdWnIRjGak/видео.html Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA (February 14, 2020) “Domination” ruclips.net/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/видео.html ZEPP 2018 “Real Existence” ruclips.net/video/-qQnKILR5u0/видео.html Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and other full concerts are on bandmaidprime.tokyo, bili, and official Band-Maid’s DVD/BD/CD. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. At 30 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 32 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 32 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 33 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 31 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA! Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans. The Maids are one of the hardest working super groups in the business! Their music, their sound, each of the Maids, and the love that permeates their live events is an experience not to be missed. Hope you can catch them LIVE!
Band-Maid was my intro to modern J-rock and I’ve followed them for 8 years but really fell deep into the scene after the last two Band-Maid U S tours, there were great fan cams and they are such a spectacular live band-that led me to give other Japanese bsnds a chance and while Baby metal is interesting so am more drawn to LoveBites (Swan Song with Chopin intro live) Nemophila (Oiran live, cover of Aces High, etc) and a lot of other older and new bands it’s a great scene, a favorite is Gacharic Spin ( Katchi katchi yama MV , Juicy Beats live, )
The colour of Kanami's PRS is 'Angry Larry' named for the former high level employee Larry Urie who would supposedly turn reddish purple when he got mad. She does have a beautiful proper Purple PRS (advertised as Violet Black) but she never seemed to use it a whole lot.
Another great song by Band-Maid is "Domination" Official Live ! Congratulations on discovering the best live band in the world =) I've seen a lot of bands from Jimi Hendrix to Nightwish and these ladies are just as good if not better ✌🤘Thanks Man
MISA's bass is the call here and Kanami's guitar is the response, though they reverse this pattern in another superb song from this same concert, DON'T YOU TELL ME. Akane on drums often gets overlooked during these sections but she is always there providing the framework for MISA and Kanami to build their stupendous 'duels' on. If I was asked to narrow down some of their songs for other Band-Maid reactions, I would have to include....their 120+ song back catalogue, all the live performances of those songs, their 14 song acoustic gig and anything they release in future. That's as concise as I can make it! But then they are THE best Hard Rock band in this or any parallel universes.
Thanks for reacting to the greatest hard rock band in the world. You caught so many things so quickly I was almost laughing. If you enjoyed that I invite you to check out more Band-Maid. Cheers to our Band-Maid missionary Roger!
And every time I watch it I am amazed at every turn, and as usual, noticing something different every time. I've also been watching the "leftover songs we didn't have time for" show and it's also crazy good! They're even more relaxed and the show just freaking CRANKS!!!
Thank you for your reaction to Band-Maid. As you explore this bands extensive catalog of music, you'll discover just like the rest of us that they are additive. Good luck and a new sub to help you along.
Thanks again Roger! You are the man! I call Roger the "Johnny Appleseed" of Band-Maid music. As a sound engineer, you will love any music by this band. Their talent and technical skills are almost unsurpassed. While Band-Maid refuses to be pigeon-holed into any rock genre, if you jump down the Band-Maid "pigeon-hole" (that's an inside joke among we Maidiacs (die-hard Band-Maid fans) it will be a trip worth taking. The volume of their work(over 130 songs in their discography) and massive following on RUclips will give you a good idea of how prolific they are as a band.
Thanks, man, great comments. Loved what you said about the way they use silence is used as a compositional technique. Band-Maid can change the musical shape of a song instantly just with judicious use of silence.
Roger has given you a great gift here! Band-Maid is one of the best bands on earth to me. I've heard a lot of different music in my time and no band has come close to as many songs as I love as from them. That includes AC/DC, Beatles, INXS, and more! One thing I think that's great about them is that they are not locked into doing a particular type of rock. They will do near-metal, pop-punk, classic, progressive, and even a little jazz!
Welcome to the maids, they are an incredible band. I have only recently gotten into them in the past year, but I saw them live last year and it blew me away as well. You asked for other suggestions, and I would highly recommend you check out the band Lovebites and the songs that I would recommend are the 2020 version of holy war, or the 2023 version of We the united. Two different bassists, We the united is not mixed quite as good as holy war, but I think it’s a better song.
Great reaction, lot of fun. Feel free to rewind and analyze something that gets your attention. I enjoy listening to experts breaking things down. Check out one of their studio recordings. Try the MVs for Blooming and From Now On . Also, they have some heavily post produced live performances. Check out Corallium Live at Shibuya Eggman. I'd like to hear your take on what they did. By the way, they use backing tracks that often have additional vocal layers, horns, keyboards, etc. The lead guitar/songwriter creates the backing tracks in the demos but I bet she gets help in the studio, especially lately as their resources have grown. Check out something from one of their COVID era streaming concerts to hear it clearly. Try Manners/Black Hole Official Live Video. As a bonus, Black Hole is totally insane.
Check out Japanese all female Rock/Metal Bands.... LOVEBITES live songs Judgement Day, Hammer Of Wrath, Set The World On Fire, Raise Some Hell, Break The Wall, Stand And Deliver.. NEMOPHILA live songs AMA TE RAS, ZEN, Change The World, Rise, Revive, Dissension... HANABIE songs We Love Sweets, Be The GAL, Pardon Me, OTAKU, NEET GAME.. ASTERISM(female guitarist) songs Dawn, Rising Moon, Church, Blaze, Lights In The Darkness, all songs with crazy guitar and 7string bass solos....
I want to say that this is Band Maid at the peak of their powers but they keep getting better! I’m sooooo ready for the new album reveal. I really hope we get that tomorrow during the Day Of Maid.
Maids are the BEST - to remember your strings, from low to high in standard tuning is EADGBE (Eddie Ate Dynamite Good Bye Eddie) - obviously, Kanami has eaten more than her share of dynamite, but she killed it instead of the other way around.
If you have even a single strand of rock and roll DNA in your body, they’re irresistible. They’ve been writing and arranging all their own music since about 2016. They’ve picked up all the loose ends of rock and woven them together, added a bit of Japanese seasoning, and created something wonderful. Straight forward enough to just enjoy, and intricate enough to re-listen endlessly.
Great reaction.....however! Thou shall not stop in the middle of a solo or in the middle of a bass-guitar duel! You should have played it back from the beginning without interruption. You went a little bit over the top with stopping every few seconds. That being said, very nicely done reaction to one of the best bands in the world. Rock on 🤘
I really enjoyed your reaction. You have a lot of knowledge and provide some great insights. You would really enjoy From Now On. It is a killer instrumental. They actually have a MV
Welcome to the fandom! I suggest these songs: Thrill, Dice, Manners, Bubble, No God (live) & Puzzle (live) BTW - Band Maid & The Warning are big fans of each other
Welcome to the land of the Maidiacs. You may never make it out the same. These ladies played this with the battle at Lollapalooza last year in Chicago and even the normally snobby and dismissive Rolling Stone magazine finally conceded that Band Maid was THE best rock show of the day.
Minor correction - when you said you don't usually hear just a bass solo, but a bass and drum duet, it WAS a duet between MISA on the bass and AKANE on the drums - same as when KANAMI was playing the guitar. They have a LOT of tracks where they do play true solos', MIKU, the rythym guitar and second lead singer - she sometimes takes lead, so NOT "just a back-up singer - and even SAIKI, the lead singer, have their own solos. Some are under their "arch -nemisis" alter-ego band "Band-Maiko".
Got to love this analysis. No doubt an audio engineer is taking a good look at this, right? I just wish he would play through the solos completely first, then go back to the start of it to break it down for us. Might have additional perspectives had he done that. Otherwise, I love this reaction!
Roger strikes again! Funny thing is as great as this is, as a studio track this wasn’t even a top 50 for me. But when I caught them playing this live when they debuted this guitar duel it was the most fun song of the night. They have a habit of transforming a song into a whole new beast when on stage.
In 2023, Misa (Bass, Barefoot Assassin) switched to Aguilar rig and Kanami (Lead G, Main Composer) went with Bogner Amp (from LA) with her PRS, and this is what you get. As a bass player, if you put me on Misa's rig, it would totally sound different, even terrible. Misa has Soul and so does Kanami, Po! Down the Pigeon hole we go, Po!
This reactor should watch reactions by Rock Candy, for example, to watch how a masterful commentator reacts to all aspects of a song: bass lines, drum fills, bridges, harmony, melody, lyrics, composition, drops, chorus etc. and is able to do so without chopping the song . This fellow seems to comment the instance a thought pops into his head rather than coalescing his thoughts and giving meaningful commentary a moment after. Rather, he will interrupt a riff three or four times instead of commenting after its conclusion.
I like Rock Candy, but let people find their own styles. His format with an uninterrupted playthrough will get him in copyright trouble with a lot of artists. He also listens to it repeatedly before talking through his thoughts, and not everyone has the time to do that. This was a great first reaction. Let’s encourage him to come back to the maids by being gracious.
So, there are four all female Japanese bands that comes as a kind of package. And those are * BAND-MAID * Lovebites * Nemophila * Hanabie OK, there are more fantastic Japanese bands, but those four tends to be reacted to by the same reactors. BAND-MAID and Lovebites you now have seen and done one reaction to each. They are worth more! Both of them have nearly 100 bangers each. Its incredible. Both of them are best live, but they also have several good music videos. Nemophila is a very competent group consisting of top notch musicians. They go hard live. You cannot go wrong with any official live video. They have older live videos of questionable sound quality. But the official ones is fire! The also have bunch of very good music videos. Lastly, they have done lots of cover, mostly of classic rock, for their own amusement in the rehearsal studio of the drummer. They are outstanding and fun. Hanabie is a rather new group. They do not have all that many songs, but those they have are fantastic. Here I recommend music videos. Partly because they are so fun, by also because they have much better audio quality than their live ones. I recommend you to start with the official version of "We love sweets".
Great reaction.... but.... never pause during the solos. You need to listen to them in entirety once first, without breaking up the flow. You can't appreciate their greatness when you chop up the solos like that.
As you can see by the views, Band-Maid has an intense and highly loyal following. Be nice to the band, and Maidiacs will be nice to you. I will tell you that the live performances will outshine the studio versions, and they broach multiple genres of music.
"You don't normally hear a bass solo" - 🤣 Welcome to Band-Maid. You'll hear more bass solos than you've heard your entire life.
Misa is soloing even when she ain't soloing.

Woo Hoo HC didn't forget did he.😉
And here he has found a gem: finally a reactor with a great feeling for music. Not because he likes Band Maid, you just notice that he immediately recognizes many of the special facets of Band Maid. Looking forward for more ... Thanx roger!
Amen
The award for most requests goes to Roger hehe :)
Roger spreading the good word and launching reactors channels too.
Well said, Kawaii Davey.👍

That is absolutely insane! Almost a four hour set… WILD!!!!

Agree. Baby Metal is a cool front act for a Metal Band, Band Maid is an actual ROCK BAND.

@rogerchance9074 roger, roger, roger my cut / paste finger is starting to hurt 😂
For you, I would respectfully recommend these Band Maid gems:
“From Now On,” official music video. Metal instrumental
“Secret My Lips,” official music video. Studio track over live footage.
“Puzzle,” official live. An example of their dense, cinematic prog/pop rock
Enjoyed your analysis on “Hate” and I can’t wait for your next one!

Glad you enjoyed!

Welcome and thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this very performance at the venue on Nov.26, last year. Very exciting 3-hour-40-minute-long show with 33-song setlist. (Happy fatigue thereafter 😄 )
Band-Maid is one of the best bands in our country, especially in live performance.
Just so you know, My wife and I are going to Band-Maid concert tomorrow, Japan time. May 10 is a special day to commemorate this great band.
(I am a big fan of the two "BM" bands you mentioned, Band-Maid and BABYMETAL)
That long of a set is crazy! They are so talented to be able to pull that off!
Also notice that she briefly hybrid picks early in her solo.
Hate? Is the new Domination
For me, these ladies are the heart of the entire rock genre of our time... Ah, what can I say when these ladies say it best in one of their songs? ↩🤘🏻

「 _"Our rock never dies ever.
That was one of the most delightful (and relatable) reactions I’ve ever seen. Welcome to Band-Maid, my man!
And finally a very special live performance is Manners/Blackhole (Official Online Live: 'Blackhole' IS 'harmonic chaos' 😀)🍌 And there is more: For example the songs with Miku in lead, their christmas acoustic concert and the 'cover band' Band-Maiko ;-)
But if you want to start at the beginning of their career (2013-2017) then go with Thrill (MV, their first video), Real Existence (second video), Alone (MV, first own composition), Freedom(best LIVE performance), Choose Me and Play (LIVE!)
Some other band recommendations? Then try "The Sixsters" from Ukraine (pick any song) and "Gacharic Spin" from Japan (song: "Mindset").
Have fun... Can't wait to see more ... Po 🕊
By the way: You have a nice collection of band reactions (e.g.
First, a little background on the band:
Saiki Atsumi - Lead vocals Born Feb 8, 1994
MISA - Bass Born Oct 15, 1992
Kanami Tono - Lead guitar, Main composer and arranger Born Sept 28, 1991
Miku Kobato - Rhythm guitar, backing vocal Born Oct 21, 1991
Akane Hirose - Drums Born Dec 14, 1990
Miku was working in a Maid Café after being in an idol group that didn’t break through.

Band-Maid Members:
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “StarQueen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies.
Dude, ....if you a gonna stop it every 2 bars, at least back it up.. That aside enjoying your reaction. Try Domination live 2020. Killer jamming.
I most definitely will check out more of their catalog!
Read the text again, then you know what happens when you interrupt a solo
I'm speechless, nothing was noticed.
This entire concert is available on Blu-Ray/DVD.
Yup and its amazing, so many great moments.
Great reaction. Love watching reactors that understand and explain music theory.
Band maid ❤❤❤
Thanks, man, great comments. Loved what you said about the way they use silence is used as a compositional technique. Band-Maid can change the musical shape of a song instantly just with judicious use of silence.
Welcome to the Maidiacs brother. You have A LOT of great music from our Maids in front of you.
Band-Maid for the win…again and again…. Big back catalog of great songs, live videos. They are complete pros in every regard
dont stop
Brother, Band Maid rule #1. When Kanami and MISA are jamming you never interrupt, lol. Cardinal sin.....
I need to see them live! It seems like a fantastic show!
The purple guitar is PRS.
Yes PRS Custom 24
Band-Maid: the best band in the world and even better human beings. I hope you dive deep with this band.
Maids are the BEST - to remember your strings, from low to high in standard tuning is EADGBE (Eddie Ate Dynamite Good Bye Eddie) - obviously, Kanami has eaten more than her share of dynamite, but she killed it instead of the other way around.
Thanks for the memorization tool!
Thank you for a quality reaction...I don't hear nearly enough of them! And Roger...Aces high again!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Rock on 🤘
Great reaction Master Harmonic. Your journey into the Pigeon hole of 100+ awesome songs has just begun. Enjoy the ride! PO!🕊 WORLD DOMINATION!🤘😆🤘
Can't wait!
I really enjoyed your reaction. You have a lot of knowledge and provide some great insights. You would really enjoy From Now On. It is a killer instrumental. They actually have a MV
MISA MISA MISA!!!!!
You should watch it again and pay attention to the drum work during the solo section.
Welcome to the fandom! I suggest these songs: Thrill, Dice, Manners, Bubble, No God (live) & Puzzle (live)
BTW - Band Maid & The Warning are big fans of each other
Thank you for the recommendations!
East of Eden (This Moment) and Gacharic spin (I wish I) - The firs is a MV and the second you can have both - a live performance and a MV.
The "purple" guitar is a PRS Custom 24. You to can have one starting at $5,000
PO ! Rogeeeeerrrrr
Welcome to the land of the Maidiacs. You may never make it out the same. These ladies played this with the battle at Lollapalooza last year in Chicago and even the normally snobby and dismissive Rolling Stone magazine finally conceded that Band Maid was THE best rock show of the day.
Thank you, it is nice to be here!
Yes insane that's our minchozilla shredding
Misa trained as a sound engineer in university before she switched major to bass. People don't often take this into account.
That explains the insane complexity of her sound!
@@harmonicchaos1337 she and their permanent sound engineer (in studio and out) are good mates as well.
I love this girls nice reaction greeting from germany
A new maidiiac was born today
Roger picking up Gary's slack. 😁
Great reaction, though the constant pauses during the guitar duel were kind of painful.
You hear bass solos all the time, because MISA has the spirit of Jaco Pastorius. Don't think of MISA as a bassist, she plays lead guitar with a bass.
I love the comparison of Misa and Jaco! It totally fits
*BAND MAID!!*
🤘😀🤘
Roger Chance strikes again! I think there should be a movie!
So, there are four all female Japanese bands that comes as a kind of package. And those are
* BAND-MAID
* Lovebites
* Nemophila
* Hanabie
OK, there are more fantastic Japanese bands, but those four tends to be reacted to by the same reactors.
Thank you for the recommendations!
You are in for a wild ride bro 😂
Interrupt a solo 6 times should be considered a crime to humanity.
Great reaction.... but.... never pause during the solos. You need to listen to them in entirety once first, without breaking up the flow. You can't appreciate their greatness when you chop up the solos like that.
Ambassador chance strikes again , slowly buying his freedom from Gary's basement
You get a lot of bass solos with Band Maid. MISA, the barefoot assassin on bass.
Roger is busy!
Yes, you are without speech. But that's BAND-MAID for ya. For more speechless Awesomeness check out the MV for FROM NOW ON. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Peace. 5.16
Roger ... is it caffeine, chocolate, pizza? ... you are everywhere :p .
As you can see by the views, Band-Maid has an intense and highly loyal following. Be nice to the band, and Maidiacs will be nice to you. I will tell you that the live performances will outshine the studio versions, and they broach multiple genres of music.
Need to check out DON'T YOU TELL ME BY BAND MAID🤘
Taste in music is different...but MISA is more than great...perhaps the greatest today!
Too many interruptions during solos.
Miku, the rhythm guitarist never touched a guitar when she formed this band.
