Okay, names, pronunciation, nicknames, and roles, in order that they joined the band.
Miku Kobato - mee-koo - Kuruppo, the Little Pigeon, the Little Engine Who Will - band founder, backing (and occasionally lead) vocals, rhythm guitar, principal lyricist, tireless Spokespigeon and PR machine. Wielder of weapons grade cuteness. Poker shark and horse racing fanatic. So determined to see her band succeed that she fired herself as lead singer (she decided her voice wasn't strong enough for hard rock), then went looking for a replacement. Learned to play guitar after the band was formed. Definitely eccentric, possibly insane.
Kanami Tono - kah-nah-mee - Kanamincho or just Mincho - lead guitar, keyboards, principal composer and arranger. On stage, she's a savant mad riffer with a room temperature IQ and a huge crush on Saiki. In reality, she's a genius, and not just musically- she has a degree in economics with honors. A sweet, motherly woman who turns into a beast when you hand her a guitar.
Akane Hirose - ah-kah-neh - A-chan, the Gorilla - drums, sequencing, snacks, the leader the band doesn't have. What you see is what you get- a cheerful jock with a huge appetite who burns off the calories murdering her drums. Completely unflappable. Frequently snacks between songs. Has been known to sign her banana peels and throw them to the audience.
MISA - mee-sah - the Barefoot Assassin, MISA MISA MISA! - bass, booze, occasional wet work. Usually stone faced. Barely acknowledges the audience's existence. Always has a beer or a bottle of Jim Beam on her Orange amp. Originally, these were ways of coping with stage fright. These days, that's just how the assassin rolls.
Saiki Atsumi - sah-ee-kee (but Psyche is close enough) - the Ice Queen, Sensei, Sai-chan - lead vocals, some lyrics, the "We're done" girl. Fashionista and train nerd. Regards her band mates, especially Kanami and Miku, with bemused exasperation. In total command on stage; hides behind Miku off stage (she's actually kind of shy).
I think this group is currently the best rock group. The bass and lead guitar are the best, as you can tell right away. Please also notice the greatness of the drums. Please also notice the wonderful harmony between the main vocalist and side guitarist. What's most amazing is that the main guitarist has composed over 130 songs, and the side guitarists have written most of the lyrics. There is no bad work among them. BAND-MAID has a wide variety of songs that you can really enjoy.🥰

Welcome to the world of BAND-MAID. That was a really fun response, thank you very much. When I see their live shows, I can enjoy them at least four times. I mean, ``listen to the songs,'' ``listen to the bass,'' ``listen to the drums,'' and ``listen to the guitar.'' They all produce wonderful sounds from the beginning to the end of the song.

Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.

Roger, Thanks for spreading the word about OUR MAIDS!!!!! In my 75 years on this earth and rocking live with some of the most iconic rock bands that have ever existed. i.e. Cream, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, The Byrds, The Allman Brothers Band, Lynrd Skynrd, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Devo, etc., I now consider Band-Maid among them. I have been to two of their live concerts in the past year. It was well worth every penny I spent, the hours standing in line, and the money I spent getting there just to hear the Maids and, of course, hanging out with my fellow Maidiacs. Band-Maid has an extensive discography (over 130 recorded songs), millions of fans worldwide through their RUclips channel. Band-Maid may be the best new discovery you have made this year. Recommendations of future videos to react to. "Domination", the official LIVE video. "Manner/Black Hole", the official live video (it's a two-fer video), "Dice", the official live video. Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up.
Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!

He said it was compressed and too loud! IF he would listen to BAND MAID he might actually appreciate that there are bands that actually play music instead of just ripping on the Spotify top 10 list. I must give Roger Chance a big gratz as every reactor I have seen lately for band maid has been requested by him. He is bringing many new reactors into the mix. They have always been in maid uniforms while playing on stage or music videos but who cares what they wear as long as the music is good and this is a banger. Great reaction. May I recommend Domination live or Freedom live. They are always better live imo.

Thanks for reacting to the greatest hard rock band in the world. And of course thanks to Mr. Roger Chance once again. The Maids are just amazing and quickly became my favorite band after I discovered them. If you like female rock/metal bands, Japan is pumping them out. Besides for Band-Maid, I recommend Nemophila. Also Lovebites and Hanabie and there are plenty more.
Band Maid are a drums and guitars kind of band. Every once in awhile, they like to emphasize that, especially for customers who are being served for the first time.

And a thing about the maid outfits, Oz: as Fans and Maidiacs know, Miku -- the 2nd guitarist, lyricist, founder and who worked at a maid cafe -- wanted to show that everyday working "Kawaii" girls dressed as maids in high heels while having fun and smiling could rock as hard as any guy band sweating it up in their hip, poor tortured artists "outfits"... and by showing that contrast (the Gap), it would generate interest, which it so successfully has done! It also represents Woman Power (Equality), which is an important theme with the Maids.
Now they show up as Maids for all band business and interviews, etc. and have created a long-lasting, unmistakable, visual band brand. Very cleaver, Miku. Your diabolical plan for world domination is working, Po! Of course, none of this would work if their music and stage performance wasn't at such a remarkably high level. Band-Maid is considered by many of their fans and Maidiacs to be the best hard rock band in the world - maid outfits and all!
I would like to propose a new rule for RUclips reactors: If the reactor says something to the effect that "they are all fine musicians", then proceeds to rattle off the names/musical roles of the members, but forgets to mention Miku entirely, that reactor must face the very real possibility of being hit by one or more ink balloons in the month subsequent to that reaction, and the reactor can do nothing about it. It starts out like this - "Holy sh@t, look at those Japanese girls in maid outfits f'ing killing it!." But if you continue to listen to their massive catalogue, it morphs into something much bigger, and yeah it sounds like hyperbole, but they will literally make your entire life better. They are not only virtuosos on their instruments, but they are even more spectacular songwriters, thanks to the music/lyrics legendary combo of Kanami Tono and Miku (the pigeon) Kobato. They have way over 120 songs, and they just - don't - write - bad songs. But wait, there's more! (no vegematic for sale, so no worries) Their music has this freaking dopamine inducer that makes in instantly about four notches happier than when you were before. The music and lyrics are often uplifting, and they can either rip your face off (like, a lot) or put a stupid ass grin on it. I could go on all day, but dude - you don't know how lucky you are to have been prodded by Roger Chance - who will take the place of the mudshark in your mythology forthwith.

That story is not true.
Saiki said she wrote it about the general increase in cheating during the pandemic.
It even morphed into being about the anime queen LIsA at one point.

The maids are very much harder rock than Queen, thank goodness, but they have the same understanding of the whole showbiz aspect of their craft. Except the "Freddie" charisma is spread right out among them. Huge personalities.

Rock is alive and well in Japan, many new young, as well as older, bands. All female Rock Bands are a real thing here in Japan, you should check it out, very good music to be sure.

Welcome & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this very performance at the venue on Nov.26, last year in an exciting 3-hour-40-minute-long show with 33-song setlist. (Happy fatigue thereafter😄 )
Band-Maid is one of the best bands in our country, especially in live performance. We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)

My personal, subjective opinion is that Band-Maid are the best Hard Rock band on Earth. But, if I was being 100% objective, I'd have to say that Band-Maid are the best Hard Rock band on Earth. I can't be fairer than that. PS Band-Maid won't block or strike anything of theirs that is already on their YT channel. They're nice like that.
