Kanami love tapping. When Eddie Van Halen died, she left a Tweet thanking him for all his inspiration---especially on introducing her to tapping via "Eruption". Kanami taps a lot on another great BAND-MAID song, Blooming. One of my favorite BAND-MAID music videos. She taps even more on the LIVE version of Onset. Also amazing---though, it's an instrumental, without lyrics. Yes, I've seen BAND-MAID perform this built-out version of HATE?, live. It's amazing. I caught them on a smaller stage, by far, in Minneapolis, but all the power and joy were there. Being three rows back, standing, right in front of vocalist Saiki, was awesome.

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 My wife and I witnessed this very performance at the venue on Nov.26, last year. We were in bliss going through very exciting 3-hour-40-minute-long show with 33-song setlist. (Happy fatigue thereafter 😄) Note : This song was also played at 2023 Lollapalooza festival in Chicago including the bass vs guitar duel. 😍
I am curious about MIKU's letter to the fans and band members. I have watched many times on the DVD. My question is - was there more to that interlude or is it in its entirety on the DVD. The entire interlude is very heart felt.
Yes. Their live shows are fantastic and they keep up this kind energy for two hours plus in their normal shows. I had the pleasure of seeing them live last year in a smallish club along with 699 new friends. Last year’s 10th anniversary finale concert was 3-1/2 hours and I was exhausted just watching the live stream. What an incredible group of musicians! I hope you enjoy your journey with the Maids. I know I have.

Akane, their drummer is world-class. The more you react to Band-Maid, the more you will realize that. A little story: Jimmy Page, yes that Jimmy Page, caught their performance in a tribute show, I believe. He was so impressed with Akane's work, that he asked to go backstage after it and meet her. Akane thought she was being pranked when she was told that. Page did go backstage and met he. There is a photo of the two of them taken together, with her in her Maid costume. There is a rumor that he compared her drumming to John Bonham's in some way. Wow, talk about a compliment!

Great reaction guys, you're getting pulled into their orbit around a black hole, you'll never escape their powerful gravity. If you want a deep dive, try their break out hit from back in 2014, their first music video, "Thrill" - this song literally saved the band. My Dudes...you so NEED to check their 'Manners/Black Hole' Live video and get up close with their insane songwriting and performance skills. I'm gonna enjoy your trip down the Pigeon Hole from here in the UK 🥳🔥😁🤘🤘🤘
Welcome, Scott & Anakin. You are embarking on (along with many others - over 210 million views just on their official YT channel, plus over 40 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (144 songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular! Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 80 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: ruclips.net/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/видео.html Their songs from albums Unleash, Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Hate?, Shambles, Influencer, Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, You, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, The One, Bestie, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits (AniMaid) like Protect You, Sense, Different, Glory and Unleash!!!!! (from their own Anime MV (series?)): ruclips.net/video/7LB_EPS48HE/видео.html) And many songs are represented with over 50 well produced music videos. ruclips.net/user/BANDMAID Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYUJI concerts: 2023 Yokohama 10th Year Anniversary Concert “Endless Story” ruclips.net/video/Za1y-RRVd70/видео.html ONLINE OKYU-JI (Feb. 11, 2021) “No God” ruclips.net/video/nAdWnIRjGak/видео.html Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA (February 14, 2020) “Domination” ruclips.net/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/видео.html ZEPP 2018 “Real Existence” ruclips.net/video/-qQnKILR5u0/видео.html Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and other full concerts are on bandmaidprime.tokyo, bili, and official Band-Maid’s DVD/BD/CD. At 30 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 32 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 33 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 33 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 31 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. Epic reaction, to epic song, from an epic band. OK, "Hate?" wasn't on "Epic Narratives" their latest album but it's still and epic song.😂 You love the bass, so this is the right band for you. MISA is one of the greatest live bassist currently on tour. And since Band-Maid lets everyone shine, as long as it is in service to the song, it allows MISA to showcase her talent. I would make one suggestion...headphones. Band-Maid has so many layers of sound going on, it's a shame you're not getting the full experience. They also do a lot of panning which lets you hear the separation of some of the instruments more clearly. Just a suggestion, but hey, you guys have being doing this for a while...so it must work for you guys. Since you are appreciating the music and mentioned tapping, you should do "Onset" Official Live MV next. You'll get your tapping from Kanami and watch MISA do her pick to slap slight of hand trick. Keep on the journey with the Maids! PO🕊 🤘😆🤘
In short, the Band-Maid "sound" is they have no genre and play by their own rules. They will play any style, at any time, even within the same song (you might have noticed that on your first reaction to them). The rhythm guitar (Miku) and drummer (Akane) usually keep the groove while the bass (MISA) & lead guitar (Kanami) are free to explore the neck in any way they see fit. The vocals (Saiki & Miku) are truly the fifth instrument. They will weave around the melody just as much as the bass & lead. If you're really looking for an example of extremes, listen to Manners/Black Hole (2 songs in 1 video). They did a live, no audience, show that was broadcast for their fans during Covid. Thanks for the reaction! FYI! You miss so much of what they're doing without a good set of headphones.
It might be one of their earlier songs... But, there's nothing like watching them play songs like "Play" Official live... or "Real Existence" Official live.
Build yourself a high-end stereo system with a processor, separate high-powered amplifier's, high quality speakers and subwoofers and you will throw those headphones in the drawer like I did. Yeah, the headphones sound great, but it's nothing like a well-tuned high-end stereo system that brings out great detailed music that you can hear and also feel. Yeah, it's expensive, but you can build it piece by piece like I did. The sound is on par with being center stage at a concert, of course you will never get the same experience of being at a live concert, but the sound and feel is there any time you want.
There is another guitar-bass back and forth in "Don't You Tell ME" from the same concert. If you want a drum solo, "Freedom" live is the one. Seriously, you can't miss by just going to their RUclips page and watch all the videos.
Band Maid top 10 Thrill (MV) Domination (live) Freedom (live) Play (live) Turn me on (live) Take me higher (live) Dice (MV) Onset (live) Manners/Black hole (live) Puzzle (live) Without holding back (MV) Don’t you tell me (live) Shambles (MV) From now on (MV) Hate (live) Influencer (MV) Bestie (MV) Hon Mention Show Them (w Warning) Giovanni (instr) Afterlife (instr) Puzzle (acoustic) Band Maiko
This is a fantastic performance and a good reaction. One advice though. You should really use headphones and take the audio directly from the audio stream. For two reasons * The audio quality would be much better. * This is a very intricate performance where you clearly want to hear everything. I understand that it is more laid back and easier to talk with speakers.
Akane Hirose is the drummer. Just don't pronounce it A-Cane Hi-Rose, please. But the reason it's dueling guitar and bass and not dueling guitars is Miku couldn't play guitar when she formed BAND-MAID. She was the lead singer. And she does occasionally still sing lead. However her sweet voice didn't have what was needed for the band of hard rocking maids she had envisioned. But she did want dual vocals, so she dropped back to more of a support role. It was also determined they needed a second guitar. So, rather than hire a sixth member after finding Saiki she had Kanami teach her how to play. But she's not up to Call & Response "Battles". That's where MISA came in.
How about checking out EVERYTHING. You can't miss with Band-Maid! I always want to see Miku get some love, so I'd suggest Sayonakadori. The regular live version and/or the live acoustic version. Call and response...of course Domination is a no-brainer or even something like Play, where again Miku gets a little more time to show off her improved skills.
Miku, who is the founder, 2nd vocals & rhythm guitar, normally greets the audiences at their gigs with "Welcome home masters & princesses", & since you referenced Anakin at this reactions's intro, maybe it should be "Welcome home Jedi masters & princesses." (there are many princesses in the universe of Star Wars, not just Leia). So, it was a nice inadvertent coincidence/connection you did there that I instantly & automatically associated between Band Maid & Star Wars, as I'm also a Star Wars fan since debut. And hey, maybe one day there will be a collab between BTS & the Maids, after BTS is finished with their military duties. BTS will bring the heavy aggressive hiphop they are known for & the Maids will bring the heavy aggressive rock. And the collab will create some form of Nu-Metal (or Nu-Rock?) between them. As you are also ARMY, you already know the hate, jealousy & xenophobia that BTS gets, so this Maid song also applies to them as well (Hate? lyrics gives me BTS Cyphers vibes). And you know BTS also speaks fluent Japanese anyway, so it wouldnt be that difficult. And imagine if BTS features Band Maid at their regular 60,000-seat stadium concerts, that would be a huge deal for both fandoms. It would be big because both bands who debuted the same year have finally united, heh. 10/09/24

When it was posted to a Facebook page, it blew up and gather about 1 million views in a couple of days. ruclips.net/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/видео.html
This band is my favorite. I've seen Pink Floyd live, I am that old, but I cannot wait for these ladies to tour the U S again.
(from their own Anime MV (series?)): ruclips.net/video/7LB_EPS48HE/видео.html)
And many songs are represented with over 50 well produced music videos. ruclips.net/user/BANDMAID
Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYUJI concerts:

Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Don’t Let Me Down, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.

Band-Maid Members:
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “StarQueen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies.
A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA!
Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans.

The Maids are one of the hardest working supergroups in the business! Their music, their sound, each of the Maids, and the love that permeates their live events is an experience not to be missed. Hope you can catch them LIVE!
Written by Saiki, it's about someone who betrayed a friend of hers.
See them live. You won't regret it!
It might be one of their earlier songs... But, there's nothing like watching them play songs like "Play" Official live... or "Real Existence" Official live.
You deserve to hear Band-Maid at their best. Get some damn headphones🎧 😂
Check out FROM NOW ON and ONSET-LIVE. That's all that needs to be said. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
There is another guitar-bass back and forth in "Don't You Tell ME" from the same concert. If you want a drum solo, "Freedom" live is the one. Seriously, you can't miss by just going to their RUclips page and watch all the videos.
Band-Maid for the win!
Now, you guys need a Band-Maid poster to go on your back wall.

Welcome to my new favorite band. And I'm 63 years old. Check out Trill, and From now on.
This is a fantastic performance and a good reaction. One advice though.
You should really use headphones and take the audio directly from the audio stream. For two reasons
* The audio quality would be much better.
* This is a very intricate performance where you clearly want to hear everything.
I understand that it is more laid back and easier to talk with speakers.
Band Maid - Domination live > ruclips.net/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/видео.html
More band maid ❤️❤️
MISA MISA MISA!!!!!
Check out the BM MV "Warning!"
🤘🤘🤘

Tell me more about Southern Hardcore.
How dare you pause during a solo. That's the golden rule of reactions: never pause during a solo. 🎸🎶😡
Akane Hirose is one of the best drummers in the world. Just kidding... :
Heyyy can you also react to BINI from the Philippines🥺
