Hi Dainty, I just got back from Guatemala last night. Omg the country is so beautiful and people are so sweet, I had so much fun and met a lot of people along the way. I went to Antigua and Lake Atitlán, I was supposed to go with my coworker but I went solo and had the best time !

Gigi that's amazing!!! where did you end up staying? I also went solo and had the most wonderful restful adventure. I did not get to go to lake Atitlan but I want to the next time I visit God willing. I also wanna hike to see the sunrise on the mountains... but I fear hiking for 6 hours and then sleeping outside haha.
Did you see any of the ruins?
The people were so lovey to me too even though I was a bit timid. traveling there by myself also opened my eyes to so much.
I am so happy you enjoyed your stay. If you post any of the photos you took, tag me on insta so I can see and enjoy with you. My insta is @aluoch_0

Thank you for visiting Guatemala! Glad you enjoyed your time there . We welcome all people as long as they do not try to change our culture. We are a melting pot ! In Livingston we have people of African decent who have mixed with the Mayans. They have a beautiful culture called “garífuna “ the garífunas are also in Honduras & Nicaragua .
We hope you come back to explore and also, try to make friends with locals . They will be more than happy to point you in the right direction ♥️

Thank you so much. I think we struggled because I spoke very little Spanish and the people I met also spoke little English... I should learn more Spanish tbh haha. But I met this lovely gentleman Jose and his wife (They chartered me to and from the airport). He taught me so much about the history. He drove me in ways the locals frequent, we spoke of the economy, the future, the languages, religions and divergent cultures in Guatemala. You are right, Guatemalans were very welcoming to me. And your country, art, history, people are beautiful.
That is so good to hear, I did not know that you had Garifunas in Guatemala, I am familiar with Hondurans.
I love history, art and people. I always want to speak to the locals, learn from them, and see their country through their eyes. But I am also a little shy and get anxious haha. But I am hopeful that the more I expose myself to different cultures and countries, the more comfortable I will become. Thank you so much Bella

Thanks for this video! I am here solo now and its been great but definitely a little difficult and awkward since I don't speak Spanish. Still totally worth it. I wouldn't stay at a resort. I am currently staying on a finca above Antingua.
And yes to the what to wear part. In some places its better to dress modestly but also many tourist dress how they do back home. I overall dress on the modest side and feel more comfortable blending in new areas that way.

    • @daintydetails
      @daintydetails  28 дней назад

How was your visit? I really enjoyed it. Lol, same!!! it was so awkward but so worth it. Did you enjoy the food, the people (even through the language barrier), and the scenery?
heavy on the modest. especially if you are solo traveling and in a region different culturally from where you live, and are a woman.
I know that as a tourist you will stick out regardless, but it helps (especially if you are shy and don't enjoy attention) to try to intentionally honor the place you are visiting.
I noticed that although the young people especially in the big cities did dress more or less like we dress in the States, the older gen, and the smaller towns for sure dressed more modestly.
agh, I could not get over how beautiful it was though. Did you go to the market? Lol I went and even tried to haggle with the street vendors. it was fun once I got over the fear and anxiety.

Please let me know how it goes.
Guatemala is lovely and going alone was so good for me. However intimidating it felt. I literally had to force myself to not anxiously scroll on my phone. To be present and okay with feeling lost and like an outsider.
      The people are lovely!
I ended up being so curious and wondering around the city.
Make sure you have a map if you do that. Especially if you don’t know Spanish.
And flat shoes!!! The cobblestone is everywhere. TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES!
The colors, ruins and mountains are breathtaking 🙌🏿
      I’m so excited for you🥳💃🏿

Hello, May I share an Old Testament Verse with you from Daniel 7:14 "And there was given him dominion, & glory, and a Kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should SERVE Him; his dominion is an Everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom shall not pass away, & His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed." Also, can I share Isaiah 53:5 " But HE was WOUNDED For our TRANSGRESSIONS, he was BRUISED for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His STRIPES we are HEALED."
God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin. Then, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, & the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus (Y'shua is His Hebrew Name) and stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?

Hi Ginger I think you sent this to the wrong person. Had you watched any other of my videos you would have gathering that I am part of the body of Christ. And by grace I strive everyday to live my life as one redeemed by the Lord. Romans 8:1 says there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. So I don't know what you are urging me to repent over. Especially given that the Lord has cleansed me, given me a heart of flesh and put His Spirit in me ( Ezekiel 36:25-27).
Although I understand that you want to preach the gospel, I would urge you to do so with love and gentleness as apostle Paul says. Also it is irrelevant to tell people Jesus's Hebrew name when you approach them with undertones of condemnation and rebuke. That is the job of the Holy Spirit.
The Lord says that by the fruit of our lives the world will know that we are his disciples, an aroma pleasing to the Lord. Not just by knowing bible verses.
Although all scripture is God breathed (2 Timothy 3:16) it is irrelevant to the believer and the unbeliever if it is not recited in faith and in the wisdom of Holy Spirit: with love.
As believer we may be eager to spread the gospel which I commend you tremendously for ( seriously good job, and God bless you). But our approach should be preaching first with our transformed lives, and second by preaching the kingdom of God. Jesus came preaching of a kingdom and died (AND ROSE HALLELUJAH) for you and me to enter into the kingdom of God. I am convinced that we should be preaching the reconciliation to the kingdom of God through Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. Not introducing ourselves to strangers and immediately telling them about the impending death awaiting them. You don't approach people and instill fear in them. That is not our gospel. The gospel is a beautiful gift from God. who sent his holy ( as you stated) and only begotten son to die for our sins on the cross, to be buried and rise again on the third day. to reconcile humanity back to himself because he loves us. Isaiah 43 says that he calls us (as sinful and as broken as we are) by His name and that we are His. Zachariah 2: 8 says we are the apple of his eye. Ezekiel 33:11 says God does not delight or take pleasure in anyone dying and this is why he sent Jesus our Passover lamb. The only one who is worthy to open up the scroll. The Lord says that he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the earth. He calls us a royal priesthood (1 peter 2:9) after Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith. A high priest forever in the order of Melchizedek. Please preach the Gospel of the risen Jesus.
When you come to people with an undertone of attack they are less likely to hear or receive your message. Paul says we preach Jesus whom we live, and move, and have our being (acts 17:28). This is my conviction and I hope you receive it in Jesus name. What you said was not wrong, but your approach was wrong especially to a complete stranger. Also reciting the prophesies to people who may not have exposure to God (Yahweh) is counterproductive. They have no scriptural base, nor are they learned in biblical history and Hebrew people/philosophy. Start (especially to people who you don't know) and finish with Jesus resurrected and putting to death the power of the enemy. In Christ we we are set free (no bondage), we are children of God, we are healed (as you stated), God's unfailing love and covenant of peace is ours forever.
      Thank you!
