Just what I needed. As iam fighting to apply decals. I pull up a maple leaf customs video, instant relaxation and look at that my decals begin to apply just as they should! Love your work Andrew, I like the sidewalk chalk idea. May have to try that.
Good to hear, Mike! Instant relaxation is fine. I was afraid I was taking things a step further and putting viewers to sleep! The sidewalk chalk is a cheap way to do some dusting. The Tamiya weathering powders are better, but to cover a huge area, like this K2 Scammel truck, I take the budget route! 🍁☕️
You are getting to be some kind of pro with these gas lands builds.... Fantastic job.. Those weathering tips you got were very creative... The worn off and chopped paint looked so good..
To tell you the truth, Vic, I find these much easier to do than my usual 'shiny' car customs. They're bigger, for one thing, and you don't need to paint inside the lines! It's complete freelancing and doing whatever you want to do on it! Lots of fun too. Give it a try! 🍁☕

And it made a lot fun to watch your idea's of bringing it to the garlands! The idea of a diorama is superb with the wooden frame ! Only thing, what I'm missing are some figures. But it's easy to make a wish, if I had not built it myself . And I think, finding and buying figures in exact size is not easy and expensive. For that Wrecker I give you 10 of 10 ⭐! Hey, PB! Glad you're finding a few good ideas here. I'm still experimenting with the weathering techniques. The chipping fluid worked well. I did some salt chipping recently. Gonna try some hairspray soon, which has the same effect (on the cars, not my head. We have the same barber!). Always trying new things with a variety of results. So far no explosions! 🍁☕️

Holy cow! Andrew, this thing is a work of art! It looks like a perfect mix of the truck from the film and the concept art from the production in the best possible way! Andrew, I really hate to have to tell you this, but I think your war rig has slipped to #2 on my favorite builds of yours. This one moved up to the #1 spot. Well done my friend! I'm really glad you do the Gaslands style builds because while you can make some really beautiful Porsches and such, this is as far in the opposite direction as you can get...and it's still exceptionally well done!

Yuppers, this guy from Canuckland showed me a preview of this in e-mail 😺👍This came out amazing Andrew. Finding a lot of the weathering stuff in Charleston is a pain. We have hobby stores, but they don't stock much of anything. 90% of the time I have to make the stuff. As for dioramas? A lot of the ground materials I use are actual rocks I find and yard dirt, lol. I'm gonna hit You up in e-mail inna lil bit my Maple Leaf homie 😺

Hi, David. Your Land Rover was a bit of dry run for this slightly larger project. I'm still tweaking these different weathering techniques. And nothing goes in my trash bin. Great build, love all the weathering techniques show in the video I'm going to have to give a few of them a try. Also great tip with the styrene tubing, I usually use a lighter to heat up the styrene to bend it which can usually have disastrous effects. Love the diorama you built for this too.

that Is one slick Tow rig. I first got snagged by your War rig video, and just kept coming back for more. I think it looks great! that and I learned something new with the sidewalk chalk, that was a great idea.

@@MapleLeafCustoms my wife suggested using some dollar store eye shadow and such. can be used the same way as tbe chalk, but already in a powder form, and possibly earth tones
@@jessejackson7486 and @Jeff H, I've put on a hat and sunglasses and gone down the cosmetics aisle for the makeup powders, which do indeed come in a plethora of earth tones. I've tried them out as weathering powders but they didn't adhere well to the castings. Too bad, as they're very affordable. They do work to a degree, so give it a try, but the pastel chalks are better, and the Tamiya brand weathering kits are the best (but expensive, BUT last a long time too!). Share your discoveries with me, OK? 🍁👊

Holy cow! Andrew, this thing is a work of art! It looks like a perfect mix of the truck from the film and the concept art from the production in the best possible way! I'm humbled by your many kind words to me as well ☺️ the details and weathering layers all work together so well to make something that beautifully crafted as a piece of the wastelands 😎👍 I'll have to watch this a couple more times to get a more thorough look.

Andrew, I really hate to have to tell you this, but I think your war rig has slipped to #2 on my favorite builds of yours. This one moved up to the #1 spot. Well done my friend! I'm really glad you do the Gaslands style builds because while you can make some really beautiful Porsches and such, this is as far in the opposite direction as you can get...and it's still exceptionally well done!

Yuppers, this guy from Canuckland showed me a preview of this in e-mail 😺👍This came out amazing Andrew. Finding a lot of the weathering stuff in Charleston is a pain. We have hobby stores, but they don't stock much of anything. 90% of the time I have to make the stuff. As for dioramas? A lot of the ground materials I use are actual rocks I find and yard dirt, lol. I'm gonna hit You up in e-mail inna lil bit my Maple Leaf homie 😺

Hi, David. Your Land Rover was a bit of dry run for this slightly larger project. I'm still tweaking these different weathering techniques. And nothing goes in my trash bin. I got some pretty good mileage out of a broken click pen and a plastic margarine container lid! Enjoy the rest of the weekend, my friend. That roaring fire sounds nice! 🍁☕️

Great build, love all the weathering techniques show in the video I'm going to have to give a few of them a try. Also great tip with the styrene tubing, I usually use a lighter to heat up the styrene to bend it which can usually have disastrous effects. Love the diorama you built for this too.

that Is one slick Tow rig. I first got snagged by your War rig video, and just kept coming back for more. I think it looks great! that and I learned something new with the sidewalk chalk, that was a great idea.

@@MapleLeafCustoms my wife suggested using some dollar store eye shadow and such. can be used the same way as tbe chalk, but already in a powder form, and possibly earth tones

@@jessejackson7486 and @Jeff H, I've put on a hat and sunglasses and gone down the cosmetics aisle for the makeup powders, which do indeed come in a plethora of earth tones. I've tried them out as weathering powders but they didn't adhere well to the castings. Too bad, as they're very affordable. They do work to a degree, so give it a try, but the pastel chalks are better, and the Tamiya brand weathering kits are the best (but expensive, BUT last a long time too!). Share your discoveries with me, OK? 🍁👊
