Thank you. After watching this I will probably order these. I was hesitating between these and Sigma 16-50 f2.8.
😊
I am glad my review was helpful.
Excellent review, love how you answer everyone in the comments
Thank you! I try my best to answer all the comments.
enjoy your videos..can you do a series on doing video using fjui system? i have been doing still photography since 1997...thinking of trying videography since my xt5 seems quite a capable camera for video
Thank you! I made this video, maybe it will help: ruclips.net/video/73KBMuUdvNk/видео.html
Hey, I bought this lens because I loved this review. I’m having issues… when I put the lens on, it does not react on the live display screen to the iso, aperture or the shutter speed.
When I take the picture it does but I can’t adjust it and see the screen change
Hello, what camera are you using? Did you update the lens to the latest firmware?
I bought it and I’m happy with the image quality and focus speed but I find it causing a delay on the Xt5 speed turning on. Compared with my Fujifilm lenses, is between 3 to 4 seconds before the camera get available to shoot. Tried 4 copies in the store and all behave the same so I will consider it a model characteristic but that I have to get used to when shooting traveling. Overall I recommend this lens taking this point in consideration. Also tried several Fujifilm cameras with the same lens and behaved the same. Even not considering a lens of this size ideal for street photography, I find this detail important and can impact on “loosing” some shots.
There is a firmware update available that should fix that and improve AF. Check Tamron website.
@@AndreiDimaReviews Thank you very much. I will revisit the site because I’ve been there and the last firmware available says “2” and is from 2022 so I did not bother to download it because my camera says the lens firmware is 2.0.1. I shall download the file, maybe is a version newer then the firmware at the lens.
Great video! I was wondering if this lens's stabilization works in tandem with the in body stabilization or if it is only one or the other?
Thank you! Works in tadem.
Great video.. Got mine on the way
Enjoy it
interesting any chance to see jpgs of this lens before i hit buy…
Thanks for the review. I've just tested 16-55/2.8 vs kit 18-55 on XT-5 and I was surprised how well it resolves 40mpix vs the kit lens. You mentioned you would not switch 16-55 over Tamron - can you share why?
The difference in image quality is very small, the 16-55 is sharper at some focal points but not by much, the Tamron has image stabilisation, very useful for video, a better reach, it is lighter and the autofocus in video is amazing, 5 year warranty, price.
Awesome review as always Andrei!! I have the Fujifilm 16-55mm f2.8 that I only use when I shoot events. Would you switch to Tamron 17-70 f2.8 if you have the 16-55?
Thank you, Juan! No I would not🙂.
@@AndreiDimaReviews Thank you Andrei! I liked the extra reach and they use to have 6 years warranty, but I'm not sure they still have that now.
My plesure, they have 5 years now.
@@AndreiDimaReviews Great video - but can you explain which you prefer. Above you said you would not swap the Tamron for a 16-55, and then in this question you tell Juan not to trade in the 16-55 for the Tamron? I have been debating which lens to go for, of these and the Sigma 18-50, over the kit 16-80 lens that the X-T5 came with. Aside from the price, which would you choose?
@@sgoody1hi, i believe he is saying if you have the 16-55 already there is no need to switch. However if you have don't have both and looking to purchase the Tamron is a bit ahead except for sharpness from the 16-55. I am also in the process of adding an F2.8 zoom for my XH1, Im choosing between the Tamron and Sigma option as Fuji's price are so high. Only thing with Tamron is the size over Sigma which is more compact.
Great review Andrei… will you review sigma 16-50mm f2.8 anytime soon?
Hopefully this month.
Many thanks for this test. Which film sim did you use regarding colors of your example images?
You are welcome. They are all RAW files I edited a bit.
Just ordered mine today. I was debating in my mind heavily between this, the Fuji 16-55 and the Sigma 18-50 for my X-T4, but I think Tamron and my 70-300 will be an awesome combo. It also helps that they have the same 67mm filter thread.
Hope you enjoy it!
The lens OIS will be the difference maker here
Does the lens stabilization (VC) work together with X-T5 IBIS to provide more stabilization?
Yes.
is this lens work good too in my old fujifilm? ,btw love how you answer everyone in the comments
These are the compatible older models: FUJIFILM X-Pro3, X-Pro2, X-H1, X-T4, X-T3, X-T2, X-S10, X-T30, X-T30 II, X-T20, X-E4, X-E3, X-T200, X-T100, X-A7, X-A5. I try my best to answer all comments.
Nice review. Quick question : I just got a brand new XT5 ... with a small aesthetic defect. Is this common on Fuji bodies ? Thanks.
No, it’s not.
Valencia is a beautiful place. Good review and very pretty images.
Yes it is. Thank you!
Thanks for the review. Is this relatable to the Fujifilm xf 16-80mm at all? Or can you recommend it as a kit lens for mainly photography as well a lil bit off videography?
The Tamron is better then the 16-80mm for photo and video.
With a X-T5 and this lens, are you getting the full 40 megapixels or less?
At some focal's and apertures, yes.
Is this lens good for xt4 over sigma 18-35 interms of autofocus and sharpness?
It is not that bright but very good for video.
hope you will review the Sigma 18-50 when it is released!
Hopefully this month.
Great review. Thank you. I think it will match my x-t3 perfectly as it does not have IBIS.
Thank you!
Salut, Andrei! Ce ai alege intre tamron 17-70 si sigma 18-50 f2.8?
Hey, Tamron 17-70.
Thank you for the video. Any store in Israel that have this one for a good price or even used one ?
Sorry, I don't know any store in Israel.
Hi, I just bought the XT5 kit with 16-80 lens, and I am really confused:
shall I sell the 16-80 f4 for this tamron? Is it worth it? I know size and weight are different, but I don't care. I want to understand if the final raw quality is it worth the switch.
The Tamron lens has better image quality than the 16-80mm and it has a constant aperture of f2.8 making it better in low light and for video. It is not a huge difference between the lenses but the Tamron is better. If you are ok with the images you get with the 16-80mm don't upgrade, if you don't like the images you get with the 16-80mm, sell it and get the Tamron.
Is it perfectly compatible with high-pixel bodies such as xt5 or h2?
How does it compare to Fuji 1655? Regarding 40MP responsiveness
This video is about the lens on the X-T5.
I will make a video about that next year.
I'm getting hi lens today..replacing my XF10-24 as my workhorse.
Great, update the lens firmware once you get it, it improves the autofocus.
Great Video😊👍✨
Thank you!
I bought the TAMRON 17-28MM F/2.8 DI III RXD AND IT CANT FIT INTO FUJIFILM X-T5 please help I think I made a mistake
That lens is not available for the Fujifilm X mount, you should return it.
Thank you so much from Việt Nam 🇻🇳. I love X-T5 ❤
You are welcome.
Is it really sharp with the 40 megapixel?
Yes, not super sharp but sharp enough.
@@AndreiDimaReviews thank u! But.. 16-55 sharper with it right?
Oh 😮amazing lens
Yes it is!
WhatsApp do you tHINK About the tamron 150-500 at t he xt 5 ?
If you want to photograph birds and sports get the X-H2 it has a better buffer, if you want it for landscape get the X-T5.
Too big of a lens. Sigma 18-35 f2.8 is way better imo.
For me is a good fit. Do you mean Sigma 18-35 f1.8 or the 18-50 f2.8?
