I like to say that I wake up every day hoping she will growl at me. This is the last of ,I believe, five show tunes that she belted out on a live stream at the beginning of the pandemic. Check them all,since this is your genre, but also try songs like "Fly Like a Bird" and "Akin Ka Na Lang", which is in Tagalog(a language of the Philipines).

Morissette aka Asia's Phoenix aka the Pride of the Philippines is incredible. Her tone/ timbre is outstanding. She is a real genre killer (Rock, Alternative Rock, RnB, Pop, Broadway and Disney stuff and she can Rap!

Ms. Baker, it was wonderful to see a "new" reactor, reacting to this phenomenal singer!! I came across Morissette 4 years ago, here on YT. I was listening to some of our American "oldies" and had YT on autoplay. I'm 68 btw. I then saw this young lady, queued up to be next. I had never heard her sing and knew absolutely nothing about her. I saw that the particular song, Akin Ka Na Lang, was in a foreign language I also had never heard of and was about to skip to the next oldie instead. Something told me not to. I listened to her. Although I didn't know the words she was singing, my jaw soon, literally, dropped down from what I was hearing!! And it was with such emotion, that those unknown words and her vocals, simply took my breath away!!! I'm no vocal coach nor do I have ANY "formal" background in music. Unless you want to count singing in my high school choir for 4 years, being selected from that 60 member choir to be in a sextet, singing in a few weddings and doing a little singing with a friend at a resort ONE Winter. But that was 50 years ago!! I never pursued anything more than that. I AM blessed with ears to know a beautiful voice when I hear one. Analizing how singers sound the way they do, is not in my wheelhouse. To me, this young lady is second to none to anyone I've heard before!! Once a huge, HUGE fan here, of Celine Dion, Whitney, Mariah and other famous divas of our time, Morissette just seems to be in a "class" all her own!! In so many ways, vocally, she surpasses the singers I've named!! Having learned a little about her personally, just made me love her more!! She's a born-again Christian. She never shies away from thanking God for her blessings in the interviews she gives. She sincerely appreciates her fans by giving hugs and often talks to them one-on-one, before and after her concerts. One last thing. but not in the least. It's not just all the things I've commented that makes us adore her. It's the sheer love she has for singing!!! That love is heard in her "storytelling" of the lyrics, the passion and power of her "Morissette "whistles", "squeaks", belts and"growls", not to mention her gorgeous vibrato and seemingly endless breath control!! She amazingly just seems to transform herself to be THE who, what and why ANY lyrics she sings, were ever written!!! In other words, SHE BECOMES THE SONG!!! Many of her covers makes you feel as though no one should ever again sing it any other way but the way she does!! Is she always perfect? No. None are!! But perfection is what she strives for and it shows by her getting better and better, year after year!! It truly baffles me because there is NO REASON Morissette Amon should not be heard and loved across this planet!! A little warning, though. IF you do, indeed, choose to go down the "rabbit hole" of music by Morissette Amon, it will be an amazing, jaw-dropping, and at times a little emotional, yet, exciting journey for you!! She truly can do it all!!! Thank you, in advance. I've subscribed in the hope I'll see more reactions to her.

First, because it's coming from a Voice Teacher who definitely has the expertise in matters like this, singing and vocal techniques, and I like how amazed and impressed you are with Morissette, hearing her for the first time. Morissette brought me here. Her comfort zones are RnB-Pop and Power Ballads but she continuously train herself doing all genres available. Imagine how will she be if formally trained in Broadway performances? She did several songs in this stages sessions that include "She used to be mine" and "Memory". She and Darren was the official artist to record the theme for the latest Aladdin Movie... A whole new world (for the Philippines). 🥰

This girl is truly amazing! I believe this voice was put on this earth for a reason. Just like the great divas before her … every generation or so there comes a voice that will literally stop your heart, makes your jaw drop, puts chills on the back of your neck and gives you hope and love in one single note. As you will discover if you choose to go down the rabbit hole of Morissette her voice has a uniqueness about it. For me apart from the color the warmth the resonance the beautiful vibrato the vocal cries the whistle notes and growls … it’s her beautiful TONAL quality. Her tone is literally so pleasing to the ear.

She done 6 west end songs in this set, she said in a comment that this is right out of her comfort zone but she not afraid to try anything, the other 5 songs in this set are MEMORY, SHE USED TO BE MINE, HOME, the one from Jekyl and Hyde, can't think of the other one but they are all fantastic.

Tielle welcome to the rabbit hole know as Morissette. A lot of us have taken the journey and very few regret it. Please listen to "She Use To Be Mine". I heard you say how much you love musical theatre and I am sure we would like to hear your take on her performance. Next up we have a young lady Angelina Jordan who like Morissette has been called a once in a generation singer. Start when she was 9 yrs. old doing "I Put A Spell On You". Watch as she is given the freedom to play and explore on this studio recording. After that everyone will want to give you suggestions. Another performer you should watch is KZ Tandingan. I think her take on "Rolling In The Deep" you will find delightful since I am sure you have heard the Adele version many times. Nothing wrong with it but KZ"s take on it is refreshing. There are 2 versions. One is from the WISH bus and the other is from The Singer 2018. The WISH bus session is just free flowing and fun and the Singer 2018 is a full stage performance. Both are live. I hope you stick around and discover the wealth of undiscovered talent that there is out there. Just a side note. Can't believe it's 2022 and there are still professionals who haven't heard of Morissette. She is RIDICULOUSLY famous in Asia but can't break through here because people here don't care about singers unless they win a TV contest (in America) or get pushed by a record label. She's pretty close to Lea Salonga who recommended her to Disney which allowed Morissette to get the gig for Aladdin in the Filipino version soundtrack.
She's also one of the top vocalists on RUclips for reaction videos due to her singing and her strong fan base that follows these videos.

You might want to listen to a young Russian singer - Diana Ankudinova who is 18 years old in this video, singing a very unique cover of Elvis Presley's Can't Help Falling In Love. She's a contralto, and a commanding stage presence.

This performance was from a Russian show that aired last fall, and ran for 9 weeks. There were 9 singers who were also the judges and critiqued each other. There were 9 genres of music they had to perform over the course off the show. Thus Diana sang in many different styles.
Diana (dee-ah-na) was abandoned by her abusive mother at the age 3 and placed in an orphanage, diagnosed with cognitive impairment. Her adoptive mother had her enroll in singing lessons to help with some speech problems due to abuse and neglect. Her singing talent was immediately noticed and the rest, as they say, is history.
