There have been many "Pop" singers who have dipped their toes in Musical Theatre. They mostly fail because the technique for singing Musical Theater is so different and it exposes their weaknesses as singers. Morissette is the 1st Pop singer that I have heard that can move seamlessly between genres. She understands the techniques required and has the intuition for great choices. I think she is one of the top singers in the world today!

I went to see this in a theatre with my son and fully embarrassed him by bursting into tears when this song was sung.
Agree wholeheartedly! One of the most creative global performers out there. She has one of the best tones out there.
She simply defies gravity! She can wake Newton up with her voice.
As you continue with Morissette, you'll discover more of her genres. She is best in RnBs and Power ballads but we can not discount her conquest of other genres. She's singing covers and outside her comfort zones in order to continuously train herself.
She can do what she wants with his voice.
She can sing whatever she wants.

I have watched this rendition so many times it’s not funny. And every time the ending leaves me speechless!! My jaw literally drops to the ground in amazement! She needs to be on broadway.
She took the best in all versions and combined them into one. Near my favourite Morissette song, her joy is more infectious than that other thing out there.
