First, I am loving that you sing just as great as Morissette. Your voice is amazing. But on top of that, I love how into the singer. One can see how much the listener is feeling the vocalist by their reactions. And your coaching tips are great too.
Its always great to see/hear that a reactor who says he/she is a singer/voice teacher also really can sing.
If you don't already know her, check out Maggie Renee, she also often just easily repeats singing herself what she just heared in the song she reacts to. I always love that.
@@beldin2987 Thanks. I've checked out Maggie Renee. Sometimes she's a bit off base and doesn't truly understand and account for how emotion and acting can disrupt vocal technique. So, her comments lose weight for me. Defintely hit or miss with her.
It's an issue with vocal coaches who stress only the technique and not other factors. But, if one is looking for techique only comments, Maggie and others would be the one I would turn to.

I wake up every morning hoping that Mori will growl at me. She is the queen of vocal breaks(cries, squeaks, growls, and whistles). I also believe her best work is in Tagalog. Two of which are "Akin Ka Na Lang" and "Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw". I cosider her the best female vocalist on the planet. If looking for the best male, give a listen to Dimash Kudaibergan from Kazakhstan. He is otherworldly.

Her voice isn’t tired. That squeakiness is a signature part of her voice.
She was suffering from the flu when she performed this but she was still able to kill it! That’s probably where the raspiness comes from because her other performances doesn’t have that. Oh, I stand corrected, she was also sick when performing her latest wish bus performance of “Gusto Ko Nang Bumitow” but absolutely kills it again.
Actually many thought that she was the original singer of this song😂 under the weather that time but still delivered with emotions and power!

This is one rabbit hole you won't regret going down in. For a girl who was feeling under the weather, she never fails to impress. I think your next song should be her original, "Akin Ka Na Lang" on the Wishbus. Btw, the Wishbus is a treasure trove of amazing Filipino singers and talents. She also has a 2020 acapella version of "Rise Up" and then I think you should do 2017 Asia's Song Festival, both songs and then the 2018, same festival.

I hope you continue your journey with this phenomenal singer. This performance was the one that convinced me that she’s the real deal. There are many great singers past and present but for me there’s something about Morissette’s tonal quality that touches my soul. IMO she’s up there with the greats!

Not that Mori was sick during this performance, if I'm not mistaken she did this performance I soon as she came back from performing at the 2017 asia song festival. 2017 Asia song festival performance is one you should definitely check out, she performs 2 song,the first is secret love song and the 2nd is a mash up of Mariah careys emotions and best of my love.

@@MichaelLindorff Yep, plus you can hear that she doesn't quite have the vocal cord closure she usually does, which is what lends the raspy quality to her tone that the voice teacher mentioned.

Hello, Coach Tielle! Thank you for featuring Morissette again on your channel! I am one of those who recommended that you react on her Wish Bus performances like this one, cover of "Rise Up" song by Andra Day. You mentioned that you did not know this song, you may want to listen to the original, then you will be able to compare it with Morissette's cover. As for me, I prefer Mori's rendition. Same is true with "Never Enough" (from the "Greatest Showman" film) originally sung by Loren Allred. Morissette also did a cover on the Wish Bus. Please react to that one also.
The thing is, there are songs which I did not like at first, but when I heard Morissette's renditions, I began to like them. Examples are the Broadway-type songs she did on the "Quaran-themes" sessions such as "Defying Gravity" you have reacted to previously. There were two Beyonce songs that Morissette did cover, "Halo" and "Listen". Not a fan of Beyonce, but I like listening and watching Morissette singing these two. I have seen her sing many times. You'll find that not a single note or action in her performance was accidental. That "tired" is what the lyrics/song calls for and it is her creative choice :)

This performance was from a Russian show that aired last fall, and ran for 9 weeks. There were 9 singers who were also the judges and critiqued each other. There were 9 genres of music they had to perform over the course off the show. Thus Diana sang in many different styles.
Diana (dee-ah-na) was abandoned by her abusive mother at the age 3 at a bus stop in the winter with a broken collarbone and placed in an orphanage, diagnosed with cognitive impairment. Her adoptive mother had her enroll in singing lessons to help with some speech problems due to abuse and neglect. Her singing talent was immediately noticed and the rest, as they say, is history.
