I bought a 2017 S550 and was baffled by that. Its amazing all the Bougie features they have. the heated arm rests and center console, the seatbelt that extends forward so you dont have to turn around. every convenience imaginable. I guess if they want to sell new cars for six figures they need to do those types of things

Its actually quite effective. Since it doesnt have nozzles, the aim of the washer is always on point. Also it doesnt blind your windshield as much as a normal Washer config would. Sure, its more expensive when you need to change them, but its a cool thing

There's a reason that sprayers spray the entire windshield before the wipers move. It's to create a slick surface to help Keep the wipers moist, reduce chatter/noise and keep them from scratching when there is dirt or debris on your supers or windshield. I feel like these wipers would only last a few months in Florida.
@@hansgans297 I've never driven one, only have experience I have is with the w201. But I feel as if that reliability was passed down as well. Mine had 772xxx kilometers (google came in clutch on the conversion) and only issues she had were the actuators for the sun roof and two windows didn't work, weather stripping was starting to rot in the cali sun, radio was replaced at some point by someone who had no idea what they were doing and caused the car to drain. Engine and trans wise it was a beast. Until I got rear ended by a Tahoe.

If it was colorful fluid that would cause an accident, wipers take about 2 Seconds to clear the Front windshield after spraying washer fluid.
The first spray still causes water to splash to areas not within range of the wiper, which eventually stains up after an hour.
My 05 infinity also sprays off of the wiper instead of from the hood but it's not nearly as wasteful as this lol
