  • Hi!
    No music. No talking. Just work.
    If you are taking your HP Pavilion Gaming 15 AK010nr laptop apart be careful and wear an anti-static wrist band or use other anti-static device. If you need to change a LCD usually you don't have to take screen out of a laptop. You can leave it on a laptop and watch the last part of the video where I am taking LCD apart. If you need to change a keyboard, you don't have to take all bottom screws out. There are usually some marks, like a keyboard picture, on a case bottom. If you need to put a laptop back to work be aware of screws. They are different and you better remember or mark them somehow to insure that you will put them back in to a right place.
    Some laptops I take apart first time, so don't be serious on my time and performance.
    If something got broken - ooops, it's your fault.
    Believe me, some parts in your laptop are already broken, you just don't see that.
    Have fun and good luck!!

      @@regazzz Just a quick question. Now that I accessed it's insides, I want to make it so that my display uses my dedicated GPU (GTX 950m) instead of the integrated one (Intel HD Graphics 530). Unfortunately, I don't have a MUX Switch, so is it possible?

    It's likely one of the hardest laptop to dissassemble, I think.

    Be wary of those two sneaky hidden screws in the middle of the back under two tabs! They are designed so as you break the back while trying to lever it off!! I hate companies like that!! I'll never buy HP again. The screen went on mine after less than six months use. However I had bought it over 12 months before the screen went as I knew my old and reliable ACER was on its last legs so wanted to have a laptop ready to plug in so it was out of warranty. This is a great video! Thank you for your efforts!

    Thanks! This looks like the hardest laptop to dissassemble. The battery is stuck in mine, so there were the missing screws!

    I have a Pavillion akXXXX which has a thin plaque SSD, not the disk. The HDD disk space is empty. I wonder if I can add an HDD or SSD there and use a compatible flex cable. I don't know where to buy the cable as my model does not come with that disk.

    • @regazzz
      @regazzz  4 месяца назад

      Check if there is a connector on the motherboard the same as in video where a HDD was plugged in. If you have the same connector unused on your motherboard - it could be it. Find an HDD connector and maybe a caddy ( it is HDD enclosure) and buy regular SATA SSD for this laptop and install it. Find it in Windows and you will have extra storage :-)
      If there is no connector on the motherboard, you are out of luck. Otherwise it should be pretty straightforward.

      @SebaZero 4 месяца назад

      @@regazzz Thanks! yes, there is the connector. I think I need the caddy and the cable. So how do I call the connection between the disk and the motherboard?
      By the way, your video helped me to insist with the back cover removal. I thought it was an impossible task without breaking it

    • @regazzz
      @regazzz  4 месяца назад +1

      @@SebaZero You would call it as simple as connector. You can also search on eBay for "HDD caddy and connector" for this particular laptop and model. There could be lots of them or just a few, depending on the model of the laptop.

    Mine is now 7 years old and I've been wondering if I should clean the insides, Guess I am not going to as that looks a bit too annoying to open.
    Edit, anyone got any good tips to clean under the keyboard or the vent without opening it up

    • @regazzz

      There is only one way to get in. If it is not overheating and shutting off or you don't hear fans spinning like.crazy, it should be ok not to clean.

    Hey there
    I tried installing an M2. Nvme SSD, but for some reason it doesn’t show up or read … i tried most of the methods online. Nothing works. Doesn’t this laptop support m2 ssds ? But it’s got a m2 port .
    I first thought it would be my ssds issue, then i had got it exchanged. Its till doesn’t read.

      I was about to ask this question as well, do you need to go into the system settings and mount the nvme like you would a standard sata?

    • @wizzts
      @wizzts Год назад

      This laptop doesn't have NVME. If you don't know it, yet, M2 can carry sata type of connection to the MB. You can find them online, they have 3, heads not only two like NVME ones.
      Hope it helped!😊

      Had the same issue. In the center where there is four screw holes one of the long screws go in the hole that holds the disk drive. That should fix it.

      I think it should be NVme, but I would.just Google it and maybe also check specs on HP site.
