I was giggling last night when you said you wanted to stay a bit away from Norwalk. I knew Sandusky was the place you’d find a hotel. Makes a 60 year old fillet recall a time she ran her Camero and her Triumph Bonneville at Norwalk speedway.
When you're finished with the Power Tour, it would be great to see you put new front fenders, and put a new fresh vinyl roof, and get new rear wheel trims on Betty White, and really fix her up. Then you can restore the chassis and underside. It would make for terrific RUclipsn' videos, I'd sure watch. I think Betty White would make a great car to be fully restored. And 14 mpg? Fantastic! Do it!
Just the front fenders themselves could be a whole video series, they haven’t made them new for that car in probably 40 years so he’ll have to either find a good set and fill, block prime and paint them or cut out the rust on the ones he has now and weld in new metal then do the body work on that. Either way I’d definitely watch, I love the detailed stuff in long videos.
@@J.R.in_WV Me too! It will be very interesting to see how Derek does it. My guess is he'll cut in new metal, but he'll do it with style and finesse. Betty White never looked so good, this could be a life-long keeper!

13- and 17- year cicadas are in different areas of the country and come out once in that interval and you may be hearing that. That black crud in the fuel system is the rubber fuel lines disintegrating from ethanol! I've seen that a thousand times working on old 60s/70s small engines and boat motors. Even had that issue with a brand new boat motor from China once. Ethanol can react and dissolve certain kinds of rubber, including what they used to use for fuel lines. The problem might go away if a guy runs only non-ethanol from here on out, but it depends on how much is already dissolved by now.
I cant imagine Derek would run ethanol in there, basically every gas station in minnesota has non-eth gas option. Who knows what previous people did though
@@logicthought24 I'm from Illinois as well, and I know this all too well. I have to drive 30 minutes to one singular gas station that has ethanol free gas for my boat. My poor old 75 F100 has to choke on E10 all the time, because driving it that far would most likely end up like a VGG revival video... Luckily it's mostly hard lined, so it doesn't really mind, but I can't leave it for more than a few weeks without running it, or the corn gas will separate out in the bowl.

Cool to see you and the family traveling through where I grew up as a kid in London Ohio and later in New Carlisle which are both in between Dayton and Columbus. I was 14 and remember hiding in the basement during the F-5 tornado that devastated Xenia Ohio in 1974 while we were living in New Carlisle 15 min. away. I gave all my collections to my boyz when they were born 142 years ago, but I still bought more. My son gave his batch to his daughter. Now my 9yo granddaughter is looking at my Hotwheels on my desk. Yep. She will get my HotWheels too! We used to make dirt roads and building out of random junk in the backyard(chickens ate all the grass). I will pass that along to her too.
He got some im still looking for😔🤝
@@madmex2k I have some reissues but I cringe when I see prices of my old toys.
Meanwhile me living in Holland crying when I saw $0,94 and Derek sayin' I remember when they were only $0.40, two for a dollar. The cheapest hot weels that we can get starts at 3,85 euro. Which is $4,52
@@CoIoneIPanic legos is not cheap in Holland only in Denmark it's a bit cheaper.
A guy's getting spoiled by all these daily videos. Love it!
The list didn’t get past”C”s… Corvette, Camaro, C-10 all riding along in a Cadillac 😄🇺🇸😄🇺🇸
Totally impressive, 😮 epic, super fun, bet you got to wally world quicker than chevy chase 🤭
It really is crazy to see how big this channels become, keep on keepin on 🦅
👍🏼🇺🇸
I love how your kids don't laugh. I'm sure they've heard it all hundred times before.
If anyone was thinking Derek was just acting goofy for the video they should be convinced by the lack of reaction from the kids that yep, they've heard it all a hundred times before.
Laughter is all about being surprised, pleasantly. I'm sure NOTHING Dad says surprises those kids!
That’s a cicada bug. I like to catch them and randomly toss them at family members 😂
The Cicada's are mentioned in Two Lane Black Top, most excellent film.
LoL, nice!!!!, 👍😄🇺🇸
15:00 time reference
A good idea also, when you have a security system like that - DO NOT TELL EVERYONE ON THE INTERNET. LoL... but I enjoyed the video. Take care Derek...
you'd think while a guy was visiting a parts store he might pick up a chunk of Vacuum hose and maybe a air shock Hose kit n fix on both them items.. the A/c blend door leak could be why ole betty is running on the lean side.. SHE'S SUCKIN AIR.. but Otherwise I love it.. Best youtube channel there is in my book.. and kid friendly too..
This car was the first video of yours that youtube presented to me, so I feel a real attachment to this series of late. Thanks for bringing us along!
Well I'll be dipped I made into the video! Was great to meet a guy and his family yesterday! Can't wait for the videos of the next 4 days! Safe travels!
And for the eagle-eyed of the audience, one can spot a Rich of Deboss with his next project, the Bronco.
Yup. First thing I noticed right next to Betty White
And he was buying some cold snacks and the Deboss juice box video 👌
I seent it.
Yepper, I peepelated that tan Bronco there. 👍😁 😳
Such a. Amazing idea Derek and Jessica buying tons of hot wheels to toss out for Kids Watching the Car tour you both have such a kind hearted Soul you both are amazing Derek that is one hell of a way to give back to the community 🤘👌💪😎 @4:10 @ViceGripGarage
Who else thinks Betty White was the coolest car there?
Not only is the car nostalgic, the family vacation 'by auto' is too. If that wasn't a bucket list item from a period in history long gone, IDK what is...Enjoy it, Derek!
I remember those vacations, 3 kids in the back of a Nova and Mom and Dad chain smoking the whole time with the windows barely cracked open
Most amazing thing to me, one suitcase for family of 5 for 5 days…then again I have 4 girls…
Me and my 2 brothers rode in the backseat backwards from CA to Ohio and back. Should be in the Guinness book for backwards traveling distance.
My favorite is when Derek sings a fantastic song like O'Reillys and no one in the car is phased or laugh's.
I would be howling!!!!
True sign that what we get on video is Derek irl. I was watching for the boy’s reactions too. 🙂
Betty NEEDS her skirts. She is such a nice survivor.
Love your user name buddy, and I’m not even American… keep up the patriotism, the USA needs you… desperately…
@@clivehorridge truer words were never spoken. God bless America!
Yes! This 1970 Cadillac Sedan DeVille is an icon; just like Betty White. Side skirts would be a great and classy add-on.
Yea it will do the caddy jusjustice !😁
That's IF he can find a set... I had a '69 ragtop back in the 1980s... Some joker stole ONE skirt. Even then, the replacement cost me $150!
I'd hate to think of what they go for nowadays...
OH! Just looked and there's a joint called Fender Skirt Depot... I guess they're $300 per pair... Dang, same as when I was younger.🤨
My wife and I were watching this video and my wife wants to know what planet you got your 3 children from.
Just remove yourself from your current situation and think....."I'm gonna get my wife *and* my 3 young sons, pile them all into a old car and we're gonna just drive around for a week or so.
Most families with 3 young boys would expect Wrestlemania 37 on a trip like that. Your young men are just sitting in the back seat soaking it all in.
If I was that age and my parents didn't something cool like what you and your wife are doing......your boys are never gonna forget trips like this :-)
A 51 year old 4-door hardtop found sitting in a swamp that doesn't leak around the side windows in a car wash is an amazing car. It attests to the engineering and materials used back in the day! Thanks for what you do saving these old girls and taking us along for the rides. Appreciated.
I was giggling last night when you said you wanted to stay a bit away from Norwalk. I knew Sandusky was the place you’d find a hotel. Makes a 60 year old fillet recall a time she ran her Camero and her Triumph Bonneville at Norwalk speedway.
The picking up of the matchbox cars was an awesome and thoughtful idea. Thank you for bringing us on this trip with your family. Be safe and have fun
Those Bieri boys have learned well!!!
When dad asked them what cars they will be looking for....ALL CHEVY'S 😁
Yeah, Betty needs to keep her skirt down.
You forgot the air shocks repair for the lines. You're like Chevy Chase on family vacation. Don't buy a BB gun. Enjoy
"Now what kind of animal is that?!" "Are you ok?!"
Absolutely made me laugh, brother. Keep up the great work and love to see you keeping the family involved. 👍🏻
Cicada. They're louder than Shikira at a Betty White Concert (or some such...)
13- and 17- year cicadas are in different areas of the country and come out once in that interval and you may be hearing that. That insect is typically black and orange according to the internet which never lies. You may also be hearing a annual cicada that is larger and green. They are loud but only "sing" in the late afternoon and evening and have a pulsing sound.
They’re so loud! 😅
The little bastards are singing right now down here in Florida.
That was pretty funny though. "Are you okay?"
@@warrenclaassen5959 I recently seen an article on the news about the 17 year old ones. They called it a super brood because there are so many of em.
Kinda hard to believe they just hang out underground like that for so long.
Just like you are touched when you meet us viewers, we're touched every time we see your content. All good!
@@KEOutdoors watch the last episode, he filled it up with E-10 right at the beginning of the road trip. One tank is all it takes unfortunately
@@Lunker_Dunker He did it and sure didn't like it either. The old bog-jet might not have liked it either.
So happy to meet Derek in person today at Power Tour 2021 Dayton. Boys were real troopers with the heat. Jessica was charming and smiling with the crowd. Thanks for keeping us entertained.
Every other channel on RUclips has negative comments on every video..at least one. I have yet to see one comment on any of your videos that has one bad thing to say! Such a wholesome feller🤘🏼 does i guy good to have this kinda awesome content. Keep up the great work brother!🇺🇸
Not only is this some of the best entertainment around, but iv actually learned a thing or two. Great job buddy👍🤌
Thanks
Best on RUclips
The boys would really appreciate some airshock action
There’s going to be some happy little dudes and dudetts with all those cars your giving out.
Yes another.
Thanks again and special thanks Jessica for the behind the scenes work you do to keep Derek entertaining and educating us
Stupid question because I don't remember seeing anything about it. Have you checked/removed the fuel filter that is in the carburetor inlet?
The three fella's with the nice haircuts remind me of my nephew a few years ago. Now he's 19 and 6 foot 6 with a pretty girlfriend in college. They grow up fast!
Reminds me of trips we use to take with our three kids back in the 80's in older vehicles with no AC no cell phones having to stop and see if they had rooms. Lots of travel games? Thanks for the memories.
@Billy Duer
MISS THOSE DAYS!
😁
Great Stuff !
LOL…when you pulled that plug wire apart and made the PERFECT face in response I laughed out loud. Happily, I’m not the only one that does that stuff.
It's awesome that you include your family especially them boys!! Hopefully they will carry on your passion for older cars!!
Cool to see you and the family traveling through where I grew up as a kid in London Ohio and later in New Carlisle which are both in between Dayton and Columbus. I was 14 and remember hiding in the basement during the F-5 tornado that devastated Xenia Ohio in 1974 while we were living in New Carlisle 15 min. away. My brothers and I saved a hail stone the size of a baseball for years in the freezer, they beat my Dads Dodge Coronet Custom station wagon to bits and lost a lot of trees and the roof to the house.
Put a sanden compressor on that beast and throw a Holley on it. Your lean problem may be from running all the fuel system cleaner and additives in her gas tank. Maybe you shouldn’t give any more beer.
Good ol family values right here folks!
Bless that family 🤗
You all make such a beautiful family! God Bless.
Those Crager mags brought back lots of memories. Had them on my 63 Ford Fairlane back in the day, along with white lettered tires. Spent every Sunday afternoon polishing those wheels (after church, of course). Fond memories. Love your vids.
I had them on my 69 Firebird. Bought them off the best hot rod Nova at High School, owned by a girl.
Your car wash adventure reminds me of back in the day when patrick reusse called into the garage logic show saying he got stuck in a car wash. Minnesota GL listeners know what I'm talking about.
my buddy had a monza with a 350 cam and 660 edlebrock that ran 12s, it was scary cant image what that ls would run.
You put a hell of a lot of effort into your videos Derrick! And we thank ya, good looking family and always lots of fun!
The more I see Betty White, the sassier she gets!
She's hot.
When you consider how low many modern cars are, carwash needs an update
Thirty years from now you'll be doing a first start on that Corvette that parked in a barn in 2027.
Chevy boys, you're raisin' em right. :)
Love this video series. Brings back fond memories of sitting in the backseat of my parents' 65 T-Bird going to car shows and Maid-Rite. They will all remember this bud, so cool. :)
“What kinda animal is that” had to pause for a moment 😂😂😂
Cicadas can be quite annoying. I hear a bunch of em right now, eventually one just tunes em out.
Makes me wonder if he has ever been exposed to em prior to now.
It was great when he asked if it was ok 🤣
When in Sandusky, a guy should consider taking the progeny to Cedar Point for a few hours. Thanks for the show, and good luck on the rest of the trip.
C P is a must. Located on Lake Erie..
@@Bill-xc8le Is that what happened to you Bill?
Love the sparring with the cicadas - always fun when the 'Sotans travel and experience new things.
i started laughing so hard when he started saying stuff about them
Derik, you are what is known as "Gentleman Hot Rodder" ! Keep up the good work and fun.
Squirt. Oh! Did I getcha? That sequence made me laugh out loud.
3 good young men in progress there, they'll remember this!
Derek you literally make my day every time I watch your videos!... You have a beautiful family also 👍
