      Timbales are variable in different rhythmic patterns as in any percussive instrument. Time has nothing to do with it as it compliments the music and dancers especially when the dancers and, or, melody, improvise.

    I have timbales but have no idea how to play them! or tune them! I am trying your rhythms now, thanks for sharing this video. i tuned my drums to sound good together, i am not sure how to explain the tuning, but i do the same for my congas, just so they sound good and compliment each other.
    one thing i find hard with timbales, is to have 1hand doing a rhythm and for the other hand to be doing something different, like you said 'filling in the other spaces' with the other hand.

    Tito Puente was the BEST in the world. R.I.P.
    But Eguie is absolutely his reincarnation, I think. :)
    Oh and I can play this tunes on my timbales! I am happy now. Keep practicing and you will be really good! And It's FUN! :)

    I use regular drum sticks cause the tips allow me to get a sharper attack

    I saw Puya at the Middle East 5-6 years ago- I think this guy, in hindsight, came up on stage to do a guest percussion part on one tune. Anyone know? It was a great show/set.

    márkát nem tudok használtan vettem 20-ért, de nem sokat haasználtam ,szinte semennyit. kissé karcos az oldala(ez persze csak esztétikailag számít),van hozzá egy állvány + a két dob. ha tényleg érdekel tudok képet küldeni stb... köszi a válaszodat

    Az a helyzet hogy most nem vagyok eleresztve anyagilag, de lehet majd visszaterhetunk ra kesobb! :)
    Amugy nekem is van egy Magnum timbalesem, en 10-ert vettem kb. fel eve. :D

    @emmanuelmontenegro1 Realmente depende de mucho, de lo que buscas, el head (cuero) le da un matis peculiar, el sonido lo vas a producir tu... la construccion de los timbales estan hechos para durar por muchos anhos (si no les pegas con fierro) toca timbales son muy buenos, cascaras buenisimas... Los LPs serian los mas estandares.... ahhh tambien mucho depende el material del mismo. Espero te ayude a decidir por cual ir, saludos

    @emmanuelmontenegro1 le digo por experience que lp es muchisimo mejor que toca en todos los instrumentos de percusion latina. Toca no es una mala marca pero lp siempre tiene algo que toca no tiene. Sin embargo, toca no suena para nada mal pero yo prefiero lp. Intente con las dos marcas y mire cual le gusta mas. Saludos
