definitely interested to see how it runs with the 60 volt and the upgrades, as well as the budget for it. I make videos on the X160 myself and got about 24 miles all EP mode and 16 miles in all sport mode.
Best upgrade for power for these bikes BAC 4000, or BAC 8000 controller with 72V 49AH battery. You will get over 80mph and longer range. You don't have to change the brakes but pads is a must. Stock pads that comes with the bike ain't the best. Hand grips and foot pegs ain't the best stock either. So it's good to upgrade them. Get a larger wheel and wider tyre makes a big difference in riding I think too. . You can also upgrade the sprocket. Theirs heap of stuff you can change. Including the front forks if you not happy with the stock ones. I find the stock suspension is okay. But depends on track of the rider goes on and personal preference of the rider. A friend of mine went out and change basically everything on the bike including the DC motor to a more powerful one. For the money he spent he could had purchased a brand new 600cc Suzuki for the same price. Lol. But theirs one thing about these bikes that is preferred. They not an ugly bike. And they perform well
I live 15 miles away from my workspace. I use to mountain bike there everyday despite having a vehicle because I enjoy the breeze and workout I get from it before and after work. I got this dirtbike because I have all of segways mini segways which are absolutely just the funnest little things on planet earth. The dirtbike is so reliable when I'm feeling lazy but still don't feel like driving the car.
That's so cool.I do have to say that wasn't a garage it was a closet with a garage door. cool on the bike build I can't wait to see what you do with it, and if a little trailer could be hooked to it ?. It would be great to have something like that to commute to the grocery store and back a little trailer.
Don’t need to cut wires to unlock fastest speeds and the app allows your to control many aspects of the riding style. Segway is basically the same bike just more technology including. some people will pay for that. But basically the same.
I thought about doing this but in my research I had seen that the x160 has a 300w brushless motor while the x260 has a 700w brushless motor. I hope that spec is wrong and that they motors are in fact the same.
Where did you read that? I’ve been looking for that kind of information. On segues website it does say that the X1 60 put out 300 W, but I think that is just because the battery and controller are only capable of that.
@@EdwinOlding greatlakessegway.com/x160-x260-dirt-ebikes-whats-the-same-whats-different/ I wonder if it is as stated because of the battery and controller. Either way what you're doing is an excellent way to find out. Because if it is the same motor then this is a much better option to go with if you want to do a full bike build.
I was telling people on a fb group that it would make more sense to get an x160 and do the upgrades to turn it into a x but I quickly realized that the x160 has a less powerful motor. But I got my x160 up to 57mph stock and I think I did this by making adjustments in the app. I’ve only ridden it once because it’s actually a birthday gift for my son... but I have a surron x coming today. I will do some more comparisons. Keep a look out for all my videos. They will be different from everyone else’s videos.
Dam, lots of comments already, just a quick question, do you think I need a new controller for the 60v 42ah high amps litespeed battery or the 72v drop in one? If I don't, will I burn or destroy anything? Thanks in advance!
No, There are a dozen or more but most are way above Segway, Surron price point. Performance per dollar Surron holds the title. You can get more performance but at a much higher price. Great channel for tests of many brands and comparison ruclips.net/user/ElectricCycleRider
Have you ever tried to use the 48v battery from x160 on the Sur Ron? I wonder if it will be with the power of the Sur Ron and use the battery much quicker, or the mileage is the same, but the power decreases?
I put a Surron X controller on my son’s x160. The bike powers on but no throttle response. He’s been running a 60v battery with no issues. I disconnected the Bluetooth module. Anyone have any ideas?
So what is the weight limit ? Also you never took it to the max distance and I would think the power would decline as you get towards the end . I can get about 30mph and 18 miles on my 48V 1600W Uberscoot , and I weigh in at 230 lbs. May not be as nice looking , but only about $700 . I did upgrade my batteries though.
So my cheapo scooter goes same top speed 31 on flats but in sport I get 29miles range before cut off 50 in eco I bought mine second hand with 250 miles on it for 850 bucks mine is a 52volt 26 amp battery with duel 1000w motors I think the x160 is overpriced considering Sur Ron cost same. The x260 looks cool but 5k is to much money
Another thing if you pay 5000 bucks for a off-road ebike you wasted your money the thing is gonna break down hub moter mid drive don't matter the thing will mess up pretty fast require allot of maintenance and have back up money for tires

@Edwin Olding does the x160 have the green wire and where make a video
Looking forward to see the conversion and cost!
Must be super fun. I can’t wait to get one and drive around some trails when I move back to VA ❤

I am pretty sure u will need a controller like a bac 4000 or 8000 for 72 volt and I think 60v will increase your range but not power.
Good stuff 🤙
Thanks!
what can you expect to pay for a used sur ron battery? i’ve seen them for $800

If so they not worth it trust me I know
Is the top speed of the X160 31.1 mph WITH the limiter? Or does the limiter make it go slower, and how much slower?
How heavy are you, and how heavy is the weight limit? I want to get one, but not sure if u should spend the extra money to upgrade.

Do you need a licence for it or like do you have to be a certain age

how u turn it into a surron what parts
question about weight capacity. They capacity for the x160 is 175lbs! I'm over that about 20lbs and not sure if it would be fine.
about how much to you weigh? curious, thanks!
It’s the same frame as the sur Ron
Price of this machine?
They had a sale about a week ago $2,999. (Sold out) on Segway website. Retail $3,499

im curious if you modded it at all
