    Nice James! I am going to try those hats. Love the top about the silicon on the bill as I have seen that a bit. Great job!

    Nice the bill protector is a must. I also have one I made from Stahl's flexible application pad but have since made me a few more just like yours from a link you provided on another video. The bottom platen has a screw under it that you can loosen and then adjust back and forth the platen. I've had to adjust mine because it was closing pretty much on the bill of the hat. Also, I don't know if it's certain hats and or the pressure I use but my 360 hat press sometimes leaves a noticeable mark from the bottom platen. I have to revert to my Stahl's Maxx Press for certain hats because it has a bigger bottom and upper platen. The Maxx Press is better for me at not leaving marks with certain hats unlike my 360 hat press but I use both to get whatever job done. I would like for the 360 to have a slightly bigger bottom and lower platen as well as a smoother bottom mold with no hard lines or creases just a smoooooth round mold.

      your pressure might be causing that for sure I usually dial down my lower platen temps a bit

      its no different than heat bonded patch letters or vinyl except the glue is stronger and bonded its a great adhesive

    Thanks so much for the great video. DO you have the same success with the 115 (low profile) as well? and what about the 6 panel version putting the patch over the seam??

    • @esentl
      @esentl  Год назад

      will work just the same i just don't like patches over seams but that's just me

    • @trinawidders3535
      @trinawidders3535 Год назад

      Is that because there's more failure rate due to seam adhesion?
      Do you know if the FP hat model is exactly same shape as the regular 112?

    • @esentl
      @esentl  Год назад +1

      @TRINA WIDDERS it is the same shape just 5 panels...adhesion is no issue... I just prefer a cleaner look

    • @esentl
      @esentl  Год назад +1

      @TRINA WIDDERS also sometimes with leatherette patches the seams can shape into the patch a lil bit depending on how flush they are

    Hey James, your videos have been super helpful! I am having some issues with some small ridges or ripples on the hat near the logos after they are pressed. I have discovered quickly messaging them out while they are hot helps but is there something I can do to help prevent then from occurring? Thanks!

    • @esentl
      @esentl  2 года назад

      what hat press are you using? As well what application are you applying If using the same press as me the 7 sec pre press helps get that hat alot flatter against the bottom platen

    • @duckfan77
      @duckfan77 2 года назад

      @@esentl Yeah, same press. The pre press seems to help a bit as well. Currently it is Rubber (PVC) patches that I am having issues with. Appreciate the reply!

    Awesome James! This stuff helps a lot. I do have a question how do you make the patches ready for the heat-press, what do you apply to the back of the patch?

    • @esentl
      @esentl  3 года назад

      all my leather patches I source from caldwells customs in my description they come ready to press

  • @OfficialXPage
    @OfficialXPage 3 года назад

    Do u have the top platen screw loose or mid tight or tight lol I cant dial mine in. Its still scorching my hats and I also use a silicone rubber pad. The screw im referring to is the big fat one up top that u can turn to drop the top platen closer to the bottom platen. Im assuming its for pressure also?

    • @esentl
      @esentl  3 года назад

      that's is your pressure dial, your pressure readout will be shown on your display adjust it accordingly and account for the silicone or coversheet layers your adding

    I'm on the fence with leather patches and brick vinyl right now because in the past I had bad experiences from products I purchased from other brands. What kind of feedback are you getting? My demographic is fisherman so they're always in the elements.

    • @esentl
      @esentl  3 года назад

      I don't have a issue with any of these...for fisherman leather patches are awesome as well embroidered, but you can try Cad cut soft foam which is like brick just softer from Stahls a lil better than brick imo as I feel it bonds a lil better....I feed 3d style design are worth a lil more

      for Patched hats about 12-20 depends on what you sell the hat for, type of hat and size patch involved, prices can range from $22-35 total

    So you really don’t need to stitch on leather patches huh?

    • @esentl
      @esentl  Год назад

      you can stitch some like the look of that but no the adhesive is a great option for those with a hat press like the 360 IQ hat press I reviewed in my vidoes, it just depends on what you want to offer
