HINT: You don't need bait... I use to fish the Wilson River years ago using a medium light (two piece) 8'6" rod, a 5501 Abugarcia baitcasting reel spooled with 8# test Maxima Ultra Green monofilament; with slinky or pencil lead on a snap swivel; a slightly larger bead to protect the knot; a small barrel swivel; a 4-5 foot leader of 6# test Maxima Camilian; a small orange or red bead, and a size 4, 6, or 8 Gamagatsu Octopus hook. For steelhead, I'd switch-out the bead for a corky & yarn. Basically, you are just slick lining those fish while they lay suspended in current opening & closing their mouth. Excellent technique 👌 Give it a try... Success will surprise you 🥇
I'll tell you what the problem is...ever heard the term "eating your seed corn"? Its sorta like consuming the thing on which you depend. Kill the hatchery fish, let the wild hens go, and buy your eggs from the hatcheries in AK
That salmon zipping down at 4:25 was cool
Props on dancing that first landed fish around the bush, straight skill and experience! Good shit!!!!!!!

That's why they called it a classic , you silly goose.
Why not use Circle hooks?
Eliminate the need to strike.
Good question. They just haven't caught on with salmon anglers. Give it a try.
Looks like a Wild Chinook Salmon, you killed with all the fins
Yup sure looks like it...👍👌🍇 Fall fishing on the coast u can keep a few of em.
Clack..... put some gloves on 🤣
Yeah, old video redated, reposted. Dirty.
Did they admit to killed dark hens because they have good eggs?
Sure did . Gotta love kwikfish, should see what people do in ca for sturgeon bait flossing fish off redds in tributaries.
And what's your problem?

@@dpage1844 what u trying to say please explain
I hate those damn inconsiderate anglers that tried to push their way into that hole. Jackwads.
Rivers are public property. Dealing with crowds is part of the game in Oregon during the salmon season.
Old
How not to bleed a fish.
Your a pro right
Why stand in the water. There's no reason. 👎
