  • Here I drill out the plates used to mount the ignition coils and voltage regulator/rectifier, and attach said items in preparation for mounting the assemblies onto the Zenith 750 Cruzer UL350iS engine mount. In retrospect, it may be easier to assemble everything once the plates are attached to the engine mount (though the plates may get in the way of mounting other stuff).

Is there no thermal paste required on the ignition coils that contact the plates for thermal conductivity?

Thermal paste is suggested as an option. Actually, what I'll be doing is using thermal paste as well as adding an aluminum plate to the back of the RR (regulator/Rectifier) for better contact with the mounting plate (and better cooling). (after mounting the assembly to the engine mount frame, I saw that there is a gap between the back of the RR and the mount plate, which I suspect may be the cause of some overheating issues some people have had). I'll make a video about that when I do it.
