  • Now let's mount the Ignition Coil plates to the engine mount with adel clamps. BE ADVISED: most of this video is just me looking for things, mumbling to myself, and struggling with adel clamps (which I think is actually a very accurate representation of airplane building). Enjoy! ;D

Dedicated Viewer here. Did the parts come in the marked bags already identified for what part of the build, or did you do that when you sorted out all the parts before the build began? Is your concern about the nylon nuts due to the heat of the engine compartment softening the nylon over time and causing the bolts to come loose or fall out? Are you allowed to shorten those engine harness cables to get rid of excess wire length, or no?

lol thanks! They came in the bags. Yes, since the nylon nuts aren't really for "high temp" applications, I'll swap out certain key attachments with all-metal locknuts just to be safe. Really though, I don't think it's a big concern (unless you have an engine fire, in which case you'll have bigger problems to worry about than a few parts coming loose!). I think the engine harness will be the correct length ( longer might actually be better) since it has to go through to the firewall.

A little painful to watch this Video. But good job overall.
