A wonderful experiment and a really great outcome. Learned a lot from this "experiment". I think you should be really happy with this and whoever receives the Souvenir should really like it and value the time you took to create a memory of your trip.. Thanks for another great show.
Glad that you liked it. This one is actually for me. Just something to commemorate our trip this year. And besides, I wanted to see if it could be done. Thanks for tuning in this week.
Not so sure about opening a shop. I stopped doing commissioned pieces many years ago because I didn't like the way it turned my hobby into something I HAD to do. Now, I just do it for me. Thanks for tuning in Dennis. It's appreciated.
Interesting experiment Kenny. We get a lot of tourists around here at different times of the year so you have given me some ideas for our shop. so thanks for that. your ideas are always very interesting.
If you have slate in your area William, that engraves REALLY well and would make great souvenirs for your shop. Thanks for tuning in to the show. I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
Thanks Kenny That's really creative work there . I finally got mine running off my phone. It was in the end a mix of user error and imported instructions. The later xcs version has the same tools just arranged in different places. Again thanks for the help and all the videos. Thinking back this F1 could have cut the uke parts out on your uke build!
It could have Joseph but what fun would that be. I know that there are lots of folks that like to use the laser to create project whereas I like to use the laser to enhance the projects I create. Thanks for tuning in this week. Glad that you got the laser up and running.
Thanks for doing the project. It’s all important from start to finish and keep trying safely. I would assume rock or metal varies much more variable than any wood. Ebony or ironwood still acts like wood though extreme from pine. Metal or rock starts where the ebony or ironwood left off or maybe where the pine left off depending your equipment or knowledge is at. Bueatiful projects as well.
I have a bunch of wood I.D. books Ken. I will look it up and compare grain patterns etc and see if it might be. Thanks for the information and for giving me a starting point. I appreciate you tuning in.

@@acutabove_woodworkings No slate here Kenny. I live near the desert.
God bless the newfies. I do love them. But my family came from Arkansas. No joke on any part. All I have met are awesome people up there.
That's because they are awesome people up there. LOL. Thanks for tuning in Aaron and for the kind words.

At a guess, that's ironwood from the desert southwest here in the US. At least that's what it looks like to me. Nice project and idea.

Did you use the IR laser or the blue diode? Very nice unique idea.
I used the blue diode on this one. I hope this helps. Thanks for tuning in to the show.
