    Thank you very much for this informative film. I watched it before inspecting the work done by a dealer on a Subframe of our 2009 Nissan Sentra. Nissan doesn't make OEM bushings and at dealer they can't replace with aftermarket products, so they needed to replaced the whole subframe, though just bushings went bad. They gave me the original subframe back. I decided to keep it since the suspention in that car is notorious for problems (on 60K all Struts and Shocks went bad and I replaced them myself, but the subframe project was too difficult for me). I was very glad to see from this film that
    @19:50, @19:55 Inner and Outer TRs are untouched, they remain connected to the Power Steering Rack during installation. I worried that my rather detailed work on Inner and Outer TRs will be redone and maybe with less precision.
    May I know what is the name of that lift for the subframe (@13:14, @18:45, @19:20)? It is really impressive!
    And another thing is: in Haynes on P. 10-9 they say: Detach the Tie Rod Ends (Outer TRs) from the Steering Knuckles. And this step was not done in this film. Is it another method was performed here, I assume for more advanced mechanics?
    Thank you again.

      Instruction manuals are just suggestions. I very rarely reference a service manual for remove and replace work. I stare at it for a few minutes and visualize what will be needed to get the job done. Comes with experience. The confidence follows the experience.

    • @olenaerhardt7725
      @olenaerhardt7725 9 месяцев назад

      @@nedflanders605 ~60K only. Both front struts started to leak, front subframe got that problem w/bushings. All the struts and shock (F and R) I replaced myself, it is not very hard, I should remark. But the F Subframe looked too heavy for me. Dealer charged $2000. The work was done poorly, though they installed a new subframe. Smth is clicking on driving. I need to go back to check w/them. From all described above I concluded that Nissan has a problem in its design w/suspension.

      @@nedflanders605 My pleasure. I hope that aftermarket parts will last longer. When I replaced the rear shocks, they were bad (didn't spred back after the compression), though visually looked good. I would advise to drive very carefully. My problem w/front Subframe came after I hit w/bottom smth due to the hole in the yard of my relatives. Then another time I hit smth on the road and here that horrible sound started. Maybe I wouldn't hit the F subframe wouldn't fail so quickly. But for sure the design is not good, very sensitive.

    I have a loud noise on the Passenger Rear. It came after I hit a hole or smth on the road followed w/ horribly loud sound. I thought that the Front Struts went out (one on the PS was reported to have a problem by FireStone, but at Dealer they said it is O'K. After ~ 1-2 years it started to leak, right after I hit that hole on the road). So I replaced the Front Struts, inspected the rear of the car, Rear Shocks looked good to me. But the loud sound on the PR remained. I've learned that the Rear Shocks can be blown in the way they don't spread out after been compressed, so it can be seen only after you remove them. So I replaced them (they were blown and didn't spread at all, so that job should be done anyway), but the horrible sound on the P Rear didn't go away how I hoped. And it is like smth ready to fall apart. No rust in that area or anywhere in general (we are in Dallas TX). I've seen one film, where he said the problem is very common for the cars, like 2009 Nissan Sentra 2.0L (which is our car). And it always come on the Passenger Rear. I think maybe it is Rear Spring Bushing. Can I just remove the Rear Springs, install new ones (with new bushing)? Is it possible? Thank you very much for this informative and unique film.

I replaced Front Struts and Rear Shocks, but the sound remained, and it is like smth is going to fell apart, very loud and horrible. I went to do alignment hoping it will solve the problem, or at least they will tell me what it is. I asked, they don't know (Cowboy Toyota Dealer in Dallas TX). They did alignment w/good results on the report, and the car passed State Inspection, but my husband says it is not safe to drive that car on HWs with such sound. So alignment shops won't help I assume.

      @@Hernsama the good news is that it's designed in a way that it won't fall out from underneath you (unless it's severely rusted) so it's just more so an annoyance and stability of your vehicle may suffer some.

      @@Hernsama you can also try to find a shop that's willing to try and install new bushings instead of replacing the whole subframe.

      Auto Fix Pal what was the deciding factor that cause the subframe to be replaced instead of just the bushings? Thanks

    I see many versa & Sentra at the scrap yard maybe cuz of that , people prefer selling it at the scrape yard when it’s a 200 000km and more with a value of 2000$ and less , when it’s broken with used tires and brakes , too much money to invest , result scrape yard

    This is really bad engineering, a car owner should never be faced with such a ridiculous repair, just shitty cheap design,
