- It's time for a very brief comparison between Diablo 3 and Diablo 4. This will not go into huge detail but gives a quick guide to the main differences between the two games.

I can see why some say that but I think the number is reducing. D3 is the arcade game version of an ARPG. Good for a quick blast but not a shining example of the Genre. D4 is getting better all the time so I think it has a better pacing and placement in the market.
D3 makes me feel way more powerful with little to no effort, D4 is way too slow and you always feel like not good enough.
Maybe that is why I like it more. D3 is too easy to get good equipment. What's the point in playing if you already have all of the good stuff
Things changed since then, With d4 it takes a while to get solid gear and even leveling up i felt powerful and depends on what you know in the game and how you build your toon.
Yes things have changed but still not to the same level as D3. Even a rushed built was super powerful in that game, but I never felt builds that fun to play.
that is how it was in daiblo 2 !! the progression was pretty slow there, but it was far more rewarding!
diablo 4 is just good looking has has a good combat flow! that is just about it !
D3 is for Noobs and D4 for Pros is what you meant?
i loved diablo 3 back in the day in fact i love Diablo since D1 ..
But D4 di a lot of things right. in my opinion it picked the best things from all games and packed it together :D
Interesting comparison. Finally took the time finish D3 and yeah it's for max damage in that game. Was about to get D4 when it went on sale labor day but wasn't ready. Now that I've played D3 more I'd like to try D4 on my gaming laptop soon,, might be spec issues tho hopefully not.
It is well worth it but it is nothing like D3, art all, in the slightest
I would not support D4 before they have finished it completely. Imo
No game is ever completely finished, but you are missing out on a gem of an ARPG
@@S2uBuGaming I am glad to hear that some enjoy it because that means that I might also in the future. I would like them to fix the loot organization system and make resistance matter. Also I want to make sure they don't add pay to win features in the future.
I am sure they will not change the loot organisation, unless you just mean stash tabs etc.
As for the resistances, they absolutely do matter, the difference between end game areas with low res and high res is unbelievable, with low res in some cases meaning almost instant death.
Ironically d4 is far too slow, and d3 is way to fast for me.
I get that but D4 does speed up a little later in the game. If you like a middle ground then I guess Wolcen would be the best bet (I think PoE is the same pace as D4 in my opinion)
Reason why I love d3
I know lots of people who prefer D3. It's not for me. I played it a LOT and got the platinum but hate that seasons divulge into. Do rift, check time, do rift again, check time, find slightly better item, do rift again, check time...rinse and repeat
D4 is hella slow now. Leveling wise and getting gear
I was used to D2 so it's actually not too bad for me but yes compared to D3 it is much slower
The only thing i miss from D3 was the glyphs that let you turn say, fireball into an ice ball. Also never liked the sound in D3, to...busy? To much noise.
Yeah it is very "Loud" everything about D3 was over the top. The rune system was good I agree, having your attacks suddenly freeze enemies was great.

for me D4 is a welcome return to the roots of the original.
I think it is just modern enough that it has a lot of QoL improvements but had drawn in enough of D2 to make it fun again. I personally found D3 too fast and colourful. Getting to max level in 1 hour is ridiculous
Hey looking at buying d4 as a kid who grew up on Diablo 2 this is really making me want 4 thanks!
I think it is brilliant but you should be aware there are a lot of people who think it is boring and has poor design. May be worth checking out a few reviews before making a final decision.
I say go for it get diablo4 what doesnt work for fans might just click for you its not alway great to depend on reviews somethines you just go in without expectatations individual experince is whats lacking this days and just depending on reviews its what makes playing videogames magical
I completely agree. I would never say "if a review says avoid then avoid" I love D4 but others hate it. It would be good to get a few points of view to get a broader idea of the game. In my opinion, if you like D2 you should love this but it doesn't include some QoL changes most people expect these days and the number of people now comparing the gameplay of the indevelopment PoE2 and D4 is rapidly increasing.
I am looking to do a broader ARPG assessment very soon for all of the ARPG's that are on PS consoles well ones that are worth comparing

This is the first review I heard this concept of too fast too much powerful loot just a crazy killing spree. Also very colorful. Versus D4 being less fast, more deliberate. I like that style of deliberate combat. Since D4 came out I decided to dust off my D3. I am on level 15 and I am already bored because all I do is mow down bad guys. I just kill a huge group and then move on and kill another group. It is cool getting loot, but it doesn't really feel meaningful. I agree with the reviewer, D3 is great if you just want blow off some steam and kill a bunch of baddies. Combat depth is just not there for me.
Exactly. There is nothing wrong with D3 if you like that fast gameplay, my problem with it as a Diablo game is it didn't fit in the Gothic Horror feel as you were too powerful too quickly, D4 addresses that very well
You have to turn up the difficulty. Try Diablo 3 on a torment level of difficulty...... HELLA fun. Go up in difficulty until it becomes a real challenge. There's like 12 levels above normal
I played on Torment 13 most of the time......
Regardless of the difference in tone, art direction, pace and difficulty, both are better than Immortal

Tbh, at first, I was really againts buying diablo 4, simply because it's made by blizzard. But you have been slowly turning me around on it.
I have never played any diabolo my main arpg is inquisitor. So would it be too much of a bother to do a similar video for inquisitor?

@jungwirth984 I can do that. I originally did an ARPG comparison video and kept it going for a couple of years so I may bring that back, especially with Wolcen releasing as well.
They are all PS focused though so I could not include any ARPG's on other systems
so diablo 4 use same system from phone game diablo immortal, to transfer +skill from and armor to a higher level armour
I have not played much immortal at all but if you can remove the legendary power to put in to a better item then yes.

i just recently decided to quit mir 4 i cannot cope already with the needed chore to maintain only to be relevant to the game on a certain scale. i have a full time job of 12 hour shift which is already tiring when i get home, ive heard or read in the web d4 is one of the laid back play on your own pace game. this will probably be me next game anytime soon il just wait for dragons dogma2 release and see what they offer, bg3 is perfect too. for me the only d4 wins is you can interact with real people the rest are all ai which at some point can really be boring like skyrim :D lastly im considering ashes of creation or archaeage2 (hopeful to be laid back) but that will be in a far future i guess..
D4 definitely can be played at your own pace, especially if you are not too fussed about the seasons.
Another good game, although it is a tactical strategy game, is King Arthur: Knights Tale which I have put a video out on today
D4 too dark for me. When I saw gameplay for d3 I knew I was going to buy it but can't say the same for D4

Totally different from D3? I was. One of the major design aims of D4 was to bring it back more in line with D1 and D2 as far as feel goes. They tried to keep some of the QoL changes from D3 that worked but I do think they still missed some (Such as the Armory System!)

Diablo 3 supports 32:9 (5120x1440)
Diablo 4 is limited to 21:9
Not a problem on console... but not many people have a 32:9 monitor so they put more resource into other areas which makes sense to me. I am sure 32:9 will come back if the demand is high enough
i dont hate the game but i dont like that all the games now are open world and you cant just rush trought and i also kinda just dont like it (the sound graphic and overall look of it ) d3 is nostalgic and i love it and will continue playing and d4 i will play for my friends couse they at least like it lol and i love the fast past rush XD
I guess this is why they had so many problems. D3 is not a true Diablo game, it doesn't follow the same design philosophy at all, I get people like the games play and that's cool, I think there is place for both games.

@r3Try0 I agree. Battlepass are quite dull and an annoying way to get you to unlock stuff

I'm kind of glad there aren't. I'm not an overly competitive person, but the leader boards just added another reason for people to cheat. Console has loads of people with 5 second tier 150 completions, yes you read that right, 5 seconds....
I am fine to have one for those that want it but it should only inude you if you opt in
in diablo 3 mob were sprayed all over the place and send flying to outer space, in D4 they just die
Depends on the skills you are using. Some get fired out with the druid wind and earth skills
I like diablo 4 its fun, but it needs alooooooot to make me love it. Rubberbanding and letancy crazy spikes kill the gameplay. Itemization is crazy bad, there are to many different stats and 95% of them are bad, the item power needs Stages where you stop getting the lower ones, i dont want to be level 100 and getting the low level items that was not even a uppgrade 50 levels ago. I dont like playing for 100 hours and not finding even 1 item that i even think for 1 second ”this might be good” in preseason i got a weapon at level 64, i used that weapon for almost 100+ hours and i never found one weapon that was better… i dont like that they Made the malignast sockets random, it basicly Made so u can find a best in alot Godly ring that u cant use, becaus it has the wrong malignant socker.. make us use whatever heart we want.. and more and more and more 😅😅
If you find a wrathful heart, you can put that in any socket.....
I get what you are saying about the drops but....I remember itemisation in D3 when that first hit. You were lucky if you EVER found a legendary. We needed to wait for Loot 2.0 before we starting getting drops at all. Also the latency was terrible and most of the time you could not even connect the the game.
The foundation for D4 is solid. Great art direction, nice open world and in my opinion great gameplay. The items in my opinion are great but I agree that getting stupidly low quality items near end game is frustrating (it's happened to me but to be honest I have always had terrible itemisation luck so I don't even notice these days)
I am sure the Devs will balance these things out over time. I just hope they don't go co.pletelt over the top like they did in Diablo 3.
Also for the lag spikes. The thing that cured it for me was changing my WiFi from 2.4Ghz to 5Ghz network. When I am hardwired mine is not too bad these days. Definitely better than when it first released.
@@S2uBuGaming yes i know that, but then i have to find a different second ring, or neck, or even possably both, so does not realy solve the problem even the least.
Also same with the loot, i know D3 was bad in the start i got it the same day it relesed, 10+ years ago, your telling me they didnt learn anything in 10+ years? Becaus they did in d3 and they implementera those things, but they didnt add it into D4 why? Se my point? 😅
My thinking is, they had diablo 1 then diablo 2 then diablo 3 they have seen other Arpg games, seen what works and what does not work, my question is, al those years, 10-20 years of knowledge learning curves and they still didnt implement a single, not one of those things in D4 why? I mean people say its a new game and yes it is a new game, but after sooooooo many years have they not learned even one single thing of what to do and not do? Its like they havent learned a single damn thing and just sent it as is and Said, we Will fix it and add what we learned over 2 decades sometime over the NEXT decade, se my thought process? Its like, they know what people like and fint like whats fun and not fun whats good and whats bad, then just Added ”whats bad, what players dont like and whats not fun” just so they can say, we Will fix this later. No in todays age of gaming, making THAT many misstakes and saying, well its a ”new” game, is not acceptable when they have so much knowledge and experiance behind them.
I look at it like this:
Make a new car, but remove:
Servo, air condotioning, movable seats, bagage space, seat heaters, gps, sterio, sound system, and lots more and say ”well its a new car” we Will improve it later, Thats basicly diablo 4

The biggest issue with that is, it is an entirely new dev team. None of them worked on D3 I don't think. I do get what you are saying, but there are as many people who complain about the loot pinata in D3, than there are who complain about lack of loot in D4 so it must be tough on a Dev team to balance.
There is also a hell of a lot of things in the game, so getting everything right day 1 is one hell of an ask.
I don't know. I guess I am just very forgiving of gaming Devs. I mean, I liked Anthem....
@@S2uBuGaming I se what ur saying there, still i dont se that as a good excuse tbh, i mean they could still look at what was done before what can be done now, what can se use from what they did what they leared, its not like the information is not out there, its not like they could look at a 100 different other games and se, whats good and bad and try to ad whats good, but they realy havent, they added most of the bad things, people dont like slow gameplay and such, but they still made traveling with the mount a slug, added cooldowns to it al, i mean u can run faster in town then u can mounted, how is that a thing, adding less stash space then needed becaus why? itemization that does not work becuas well, ancients and ancestrals does not matter at the right power level, at 725 sacred is just as good as 850 ancestral as an example, (when ancestral should be endgame gear, its not) the list of things that are bad is sooo long and it could al have been avoided if they actualy did one ounce of research. s the game bad, no, is it great, mehhh no, could it be great, heck yes, but it will probably take 1-2 years before it is great. do i love playing it, yes i do, the combat and looks is awesome, (aside from perma cc ofc :P ) but the quality of life, does not even remotely exists in D4 and it will probably not exist for a loong time
D4 is to clunky d3 combat is way better
I don't agree personally, but I have some friends who feel the same way. Did you see the dev stream earlier. Lots of good changes coming to D4
Diablo IV totally changed the franchise for better. The game can’t even compared to the old ones. Lots of customization and tailoring your character and slower progression but more rewarding. Diablo 4 was fenomenal and there is still a huge amount of gamers playing it. Season 2 sucks but hopefully Season 3 would be better.
I agree it changed things for the better. They have a long way to go but I am sure it will get better all the time.
@@S2uBuGaming I hated Diablo 3 so much. It is impossible to die in the game and you level up so fast. The game is super easy. I was so happy that Blizzard was going back to Diablo 2 darker tone and difficulty. Diablo 3 didn’t feel like a Diablo game. I remember playing Diablo 1 and 2 and always looking at my health and resources and in Diablo 3 I never had to looked at my health. It barely went down and it refilled very fast.
I personally agree. D4 is for me the best Diablo so far and will only continue to improve.
Just completed the campaign on D4 with my wife. We think it was excellent. She isn't into grinder games so now that the story is done she will stop playing but I will continue. I think this would be my favorite game right now if it had an offline mode. Sadly it doesn't which knocks it down in my list a bit.

D3 didn't have skill points, they just unlocked at a level so you cannot compare them really. D4 is much more like an RPG. D3 was more like the arcade equivalent.
@@S2uBuGaming yes I know d3 didn't have points. But u need a Lil bit of imagination - not much, but some - to directly compare them. It's the same system made worse
I actually much prefer the D4 system, back more in line with D2, but with enough changes to make it feel fresh.
For me, D4 is a much more mature, well thought out game. The skills require actual thought to decide which to use which is nice, it's not just oh that unlocked, I'll give it a go.
@@S2uBuGaming it is unlocked and then chosen by u and modified by 1 rune. Kepp in mind that skills in d4 actually unlocked at certain level as well if u think about it - u need to have enough points
@cptSarcazmo yes but you choose to unlock it. You need a certain amount of points not a character level. I platinumed D3 2 times so I know the system inside and out but I still much prefer D4 system
Diablo 4 was TRYING to go back to darkness AKA Diablo 2, just play diablo 2
In a way I agree but D4 does have a lot of QoL aspects that never made it into D2 R. And it does look better.....
D3 looks like a cheap chinese game, kinda like that one you keep seeing youtube adverts for.

Yeh it is your right, I don't get it because diablo was always a dark and gritty game, d4 has gone back to that and it's so good, I don't get d3 at all, I feel like people are going to back play d3 just to follow the crowd now.
@purveyorsofnothing977 I think there are a lot of players who want the instant gratification of D3 rather than the real Diablo experience. There is nothing wrong with that, and if they prefer D3 then I am glad they kept the D3 servers going. Personally I like the world of Diablo and for that D4 is much better and I like the slower pace of the game as well
Battlepass is a major turn off
It can be, but to be honest, you can completely ignore it. It doesn't really do much for the gameplay other than a few skins. The free pass unlocks some passive improvements (such as exp or crafting materials)
To be honest it is not as invasive as others such as Overwatch, and only feature in the seasons
@S2uBuGaming good to know, all this just to look cooler, I remember back when people played the game for the story, not the graphics and cosmetics.
I know haha. Even so, even in D2 I used to wear some worse armour because I liked the look of it haha
Lol you don't have to go fast and furious on D3 sure many people play it like that but you can build a slow character and push through the higher difficulties is not like you will obliterate everything in Torment 16 with a new character lol
The art style is definitely different but D3 is better imo and you can go slow on it or at your own pace really specially uf you don't care about seasons or prefer playing solo
It is designed to be a faster game but if course you can play slower but you cannot stop hundreds of powerful items dropping bumping up your damage to ridiculous numbers.
I know lots of people who prefer D3, I just cannot understand it myself as there is nothing to do other than Greater Rifts. That is literally all there is. There are 5 bounties per act and rifts. In D4 end game has Dungeons (Rifts), Helltides, Tree of Whispers (Bounties), World Bosses, and Legion events. There just seems more to do and because of its MMO styling, just feels more loved in to me.
We also have to remember, the first 2 years of D3 were terrible, So D4 has time to add more things and improve
Lol diablo 3 and slow in the same comment feels very unrealistic XD, I started with diablo 2 with the expansion, the classic one in 2018 (one of the best games I ever played) and then I played D3 and feels.. like a game from another saga, too fast, too colorful, idk.. diablo 4 is amazing.
Couldn't agree more. I don't mind colourful games, I player torchlight to death, and like playing The Last Epoch, but for Diablo it feels completely out of place
In diablo 3, your character speaks way more than in 4. It makes you feel like you are actually apart of the story and not some bimbo who just stands there.
And yeah 3 is also way more colorful and the gui is better imo. Kinda like comparing the early cod games to cold war or something.
There is way more experimentality and it’s easy to understand the skills. Not to mention you can assign runes to them which sometimes changes the skills entirely. Meanwhile in 4…well pretty much every single skill looks the same 🥲
Plus, in 3 there are, well, 4 acts. Meaning that there are 4 different worlds and different parts of the story mode
There are 5 acts in D3 very similar to the 4 zones in D4 - snow, desert, swamp, mountains.
I find D3 too "simple" and arcadey. And I find the same amount of talking in both.
I honestly find the skills in D4 pretty cool, I guess it may be a class I don't play that you are referring to though.
