    Recently I came across your videos. This particular one made me more straight than I've felt in ages. Of particular note to me, my low right back was arched more than the left low back and my right shoulder tended to go more backward than forward. This lesson made me feel straighter than I have for a long time. Plus my head feels more on top of my shoulders. I look forward to practicing using more of your videos and will return to this one often. Thank you!

      Hi Natala
      Thanks so much for your positive feedback. It really means a lot to me.
      I love this lesson too. It is based on the teaching of Ruthy Alon. She is now in her 90s and still teaching in the US. Ruthy is a true inspiration as a teacher and as a person so I wanted to acknowledge her.
      Thanks again for visiting my channel and for your kind comments.
      Warm regards,
      Jodie

    Is this a flexion extension lesson or spine like a chain? Thanks

    • @JodieKrantz
      @JodieKrantz  4 года назад

      Hi Andrea, hope you're well!, It's not the Spine as a Chain, but it is related. It's exploring the relationship between the lumbar and cervical arches using movement of the pelvis, head and eyes.

      @@JodieKrantz thanks so much for ur help. My confusion is when Ive done spine as a chain lessons the teacher has said that when u round the head should flatten and when u arch, your cervical spine should also arch more. And I dont find that to be true. So I get confused

    Well done...thank you...loved this...but just a suggestion...these are explorations or investigations if you will, NOT exercises. We have to get away from that type of terminology when dealing with Feldenkrais. It's what distinguishes our work from other modalities.

    • @JodieKrantz
      @JodieKrantz  5 лет назад

      Yes that's a good point, though Moshe did sometimes refer to his lessons as exercises. To me the important point is that the intention and purpose is learning, not fitness.

      @mezzofeldenkrais6131 5 лет назад +1

      @@JodieKrantzYes, I hear what you are saying and I realize this gets into semantics or "languaging" but the issue with exercise" whether Feld used it or not is the idea of mindless effort/repetition rather than exploration/investigation/journey/curiosity etc.

    I thought feldenkrais called them lessons not exercises?

    • @JodieKrantz
      @JodieKrantz  3 года назад

      Hi Gamma, Moshe He used both terms in his writing and teaching, but regardless of the word you use the focus is on using awareness to learn and discover. The word 'exercise' can mean fitness activity, but here it means 'a practice that engages mind and body in a learning process'. So it's similar to a child learning to read through doing exercises in an activity book.
